I'm scunnered, totally and utterly - over 40 days ago I submitted a bug report id 110466 and its still in an unfiltered state - issue is ships wobbling in space and issues with the head in the character creator.
Now I find that I cant control my toon properly in CQ - the video linked below is me holding the 'S' button to try and back away from the corner. No matter how I try my toon is always drawn to the 'ship' end of CQ and regardless of keyboard or mouse input I cant walk back to the other end, just this strange jerky motion.
Linkage
I can't not believe that all 3 of my issues aren't related, and I'm not stupid, its only me affected so must be some setup or hardware issue - but to wait 40 days on a bug report asking for troubleshooting help and now to find that CQ is a total flop as well.
What should I do now - petition?

Edited by: Deviana Sevidon on 18/06/2011 18:47:16 It is not a bug, the controls are just a bit different then what you might be used from other MMO.

OK lets take key controls out of the equation and just use the mouse, what should happen if i point in a direction and hold both mouse buttons in?

Edited by: max cargo on 18/06/2011 19:25:50 HOW TO WALK IN STATION:::tutorial ok first of all your gona learn how to walk= press both left and right mouse buttons at same time and then move the mouse to where you wana go. second of all you wana fit/use everything, there are 2 ways how to do that, 1st:just like before walking in station. to open the cargohold you go to your ship hangar and right click on active ship and click "open cargohold" and then put whatever you want there or you can simply move your mouse button over the holographic statue (im not sure how to say it im not really good in english) (inside the quarters) and then there will pop up some buttons that say for example "open ship cargo" or something similar to that
Thank you for reading this Max Cargo

See thats my issue - 2 mouse buttons, move in direction you are pointing, pretty straight forward - except it doesnt work for me, and its super annoying just having a toon that walks into walls, especially as bug reports appear to be next to useless :(

You can't honestly expect bug reports to be fixed straight away. CCP has a lot on their plates with all the upcoming content, I'm sure you'll see an improvement by the time it hits TQ.
Be patient grasshoppah!

No your right, I don't expect straight away but 40 days and still in a 'not filtered' state is depressing - I do want to enjoy CQ, but in the short term its going to need to be switched off :(

Understandable. It's a MAJOR first step for this game and CCP. They've got a lot on their hands. They're deploying a new patch as we speak so it may resolve some of your issues. It's a TQ Ready patch so we'll see.

Yeah we'll see - what's annoying me is that I know it's not a CCP issue as such but something in my setup, I'm not daft with PC's and I've updated drivers / fresh installs etc etc but my issues remain - infuriated is probably a better description lol

All bug reports do is inform the QA team "I have this issue, here are my specs/logserver files for the day/whatever". Assuming it can be reproduced reliably, it then gets attached to a defect and fixed (eventually ).
They aren't petitions; you don't get your own personal bug hunter to hand-hold you through the troubleshooting process. You should probably read the SiSi disclaimer that everyone clicks through blithely, as it clearly states that anything on the TEST server is still being TESTED, and if it doesn't work for you then tough luck pal.

My apologies, my bug report is on the live server, although I believe all my issues to be interlinked ( This thread has more video goodness )
I think any correspondance to a company that doesn't at least get an acknowledgement after 40+ days is a bit off - even if it was 'sorry pal, never seen this before, your screwed'
I think I pretty much am screwed as I've not seen anyone post the same issues ar have any clue what could be causing it

That walking thing looks like you use the WASD controls, but the mouse or something else overrides this all the time.
Same for that ship at dead stop.
That ship in warp is a really odd one, which practically rules out a bad mouse as it seems to come from your client.
Can you cause this effect on a whim? Is it constant?
Did you attach a logserver-file with your bugreport(s) that also contain links to those vids?
What system you're running this on? What hardwarespecs do you have? Any input controls that are unusual? Joystick? Touchpad? Graphics-tablet? Did you try other input controls then the ones you got? Swap Mouse/Keyboard? Any chance you can scrap your complete installation and go for a clean install of everything? For a start just OS and EVE (download it fresh) and everything else later?
If you'd experienced this only on standstill I'd bet on hardware failure, but that spinning-in-warp is really odd.

Yeah is odd - I get the same behaviour if I use the two button press on the mouse instead of WASD - but good call I will unplug one and see what happens.

It's constant and I dont notice any strange behaviour in other 3D games F1 2010 or Crysis for example
Originally by: Tres Farmer Did you attach a logserver-file with your bugreport(s) that also contain links to those vids?.
No logserver file but a dxdiag.txt and links to the vids.
Originally by: Tres Farmer What system you're running this on? What hardwarespecs do you have?
Kingston HyperX 4GB (2 x 2GB Kit) PC12800 DDR3 RAM (1600MHz) Asus M4A79XTD EVO Socket AM3 Motherboard Asus Radeon HD5770 1GB Copper Core PCI-Express Graphics Card AMD Phenom II X2 550 Black Edition Processor Socket AM3
Extra 2 cores unlocked on the CPU, will try dropping back to two cores and see what happens - using dual monitors for 2 clients if that makes a diff.
Originally by: Tres Farmer Any input controls that are unusual? Joystick? Touchpad? Graphics-tablet? Did you try other input controls then the ones you got? Swap Mouse/Keyboard?
No unusual input devices and have recently updated my mouse. Will check device manager however for spurious input device entries just in case - again good shout

Ouch, I have 2 drives in the machine so its possible, certainly not desirable tho!
You have however given me a good few things to try that I hadnt thought of so thank you very much

In case you don't know how there is a guide in one of the stickies. Essentially, you navigate to the folder your Sisi client is running in and locate the 'logserver.exe', start it before you start the client, then create a new 'workspace', then you start your sisi client as you normally do. Once your client does show his odd behaviour you (just let it do this for some time.. 10-30seconds) you save the workspace in the logserver, then zip it and attach it to your bugreport.

Hehe.. a new install might work wonder though. Do this as last resort. Keep all of your settings for your browser and what not and check all your documents you want to keep are in a backup. Check also passwords and login details for websites.. FF for example let's you save them and you get lazy and might not remember them (tools>otpions>secutiry>saved passwords (make them visible and take a picture or write them down.. same for your mail client. Essentially everything you know you'll take some time to set up. But as I said: last resort.

Yeah, I didnt do this as it was a tranquility bug report - I was hoping if they needed something like this they would respond to the bug report with please get us xyz

Haha, Oh yes - Win 7 64Bit Professional and latest stable Catalyst Control Centre & drivers - all options set in the CCC too client controlled as I assumed this would give the best chance of things working properly - maybe a bit of ****ing about needed in here

I use the same password for everything, even my two eve installs, it's "******"
j/k - I was considering buying a smallish SSD for my windows install and eve clients in a couple of months, if I dont get to the root cause before then rather than mirroring my OS to the new drive will just do a fresh install.
Thanks again for the tips!

Oh, they will. Just give it time; for the last 2 months I would imagine that the bug reports have been coming in thick and fast; certainly too fast for ~20* volunteer bug hunters to keep up with.
* - Judging by the ones I've seen on IRC in #eve-chaos, although I guess not all of them hang out in there
