Maybe -just maybe- the lack of structural content in the recent patches comes from the fact that EVE is now much more "complete" and doesnt require updates and corrections, and least not as much as a few years ago.
Also, saying that Incarna brings nothing is a bit too much. Sure, for now, it's only an animated toon, which won't add new things to do, but when it will be implemented, it will allow CCP to use it as base for new features. Let's hope for the best. - Yann Xonogoth |

CCP don't care about us anymore, nor have they for the past couple of years at least. We are just here to provide revenue stream for their new games until such time as they start making money and they can shut Eve down. That's all there is to it.

There is also
1) turrets;
2) more than one race room on test server
It's (almost) completely new engine, interactions system and almost completed microtransactions shop - not bad. Plus there is already an interactive door into station hall which says "air isn't ready" - I'm sure we'll see in-station interactions between players during this year (or else there is no point to buy clothing for $$$).

My hypothetical blonde was served up as a provocation for a response. Never did I mentioned that she did more than color her hair. It was just hair color.
Yet someone was ready to add their own color by implying some emotional betrayal.
The behavior displayed in response to my hypothetical blonde is parallel to how people behave on these forums. It's as if yelling at everyone and the developers that the sky is falling would inspire a rational person to believe that chicken little has special insight or ability fortune tell the future with clarity and extreme criticism.
Why is it impossible to follow TalonClark's example of constructive feedback. Not only did he communicate his point, the Developers responded to it and added some of his suggestions.

I AM seriously thinking about it down the road of my career as a 3D artist, it has barely been a year since I graduated so gimme some time, k?
Dont get me wrong I love CCP, at least I used to.. they had principles and balls, even when they owed Simon & Schuster 2mil $s or so they did the things they thought were right. While all those bizppl critisizing CCP, they made a bold move and brought us this great game EVE. Now they are like hollywood, too busy copying japanesse horror movies and making remakes of stuff that has already sold in the past.
When the situation is ripe, I definetly want to be there to take advantage of it.

You might actually try the testserver before you state 'facts' like this. Models might be in the client yes, but you can't access them yet. We start with the Minmatar CQ on all stations for the time being, other races will follow, no timeline made public so far.

Ok, I guess you're new and 100M isk is a lot for you. If so I pay you 100M isk if we're able to walk through that momentarily locked station door and are able to see + interact with other players by 1st. Dec 2011.
Besides that you're too optimistic and I've been part of the shenanigan for too long to give into so much hope. Whatever you think might come Soon wont. Take what you can see on Sisi 4 weeks before the expansion launches and you're on the safe side.

Cold War, Jun. 2005 - COSMOS constellations <-- Left unfinished, broken, farmed, and left to languish with no purpose whatsoever. A complete waste of resources.
Empyrian Age, Jun. 2008 - Faction Warfare and all that goes with it <-- Released in a broken, watered down state where system holding means not a thing to anyone fighting the wars. Easily farmed for insane ISK to the point where enemies would work together to run missions and rake in LP for the spiffy new faction stuff. As of yet not fixed, modified, reworked, or made relevant for anything other than cheap ship destruction.
Quantum Rise, Nov. 2008 - The great nano nerf <- which brought with it a neutering of stasis webs which resulted in no change whatsoever. Fast ships still go insanely fast (Dramiel!?) and can't be touched unless they're just stupid. Preceeding NOS changes, target dampener changes, and subsequent ECM changes flat out obviated an entire class of ships introduced specifically to use those modules, and use them well. Rather than alter the ships, the rendered the modules useless for use on typical ships, and only middling on ships designed for them.
Incarna, Jun. 2011 - Walk in stations <- And play SecondLife in stations, clothes shopping. - Walk in one room of a station <- And no other, for the next 8 years. - Walk in one room of one race <- Don't expect this to change anytime soon.

Hope springs eternal. I don't hold much hope that CCP will put serious effort into improving the space side of the game. With the new MT store where do you think the majority of development is going to go? Is it going to go into developing aspects that don't generate income beyond the subscription? Or is it going to go into development of aspects that generate income in addition to the subscription?
And this is why MT should have been denounced by everyone with no compromise. Seriously! Unless you're planning on paying to participate in portions of the game that will be EXCLUDED from your subscription then why compromise? If this whole MT develops into what people fear the game is as good as over for those not willing to pay a subscription + MT. No point compromising in the first place.

The EVE-Online monthly subscription should cover all gameplay aspects if that changes the subscription becomes a scam. Infact the SUB should have been divided in 3x 15.-EUR, 15.-EUR for EVE online pilot license, 15.-EUR for merc license (DUST, yes it should have come to PC), 15.-EUR for all the incarna environment. They can all be independant games interconnected.
As I see it CCP are hypocrits, they claim they dont want to leech off of EVE-Online players for DUST, yet still introducing micro-transactions to get more money out of EVE-O players, while more than half of EVE player base was already more than ready to subscribe for DUST AS WELL AS EVE-O, thats a guaranteed profit there. Instead CCP went the way of alienating their whole fanbase and introduce F2P, MT and vanity items, and throw DUST onto a completely different platform something totally opposite of what the majority of the player base wants.
The equation between player subscription and content released to keep the players interested needs to be in balance, or else either the players get bored and quit or the developers lose on opportunity cost (way too much content meaning extra dev hours are free for the players). ATM there are fundamental issues with game balance and broken content that hasnt been addressed for a long while, so the playerbase feels cheated.

Originally by: Lady Go Diveher CCP have changed their release schedule from being once a year, to several a year with major releases being more regular.
They've done this to streamline the introduction of new features, and to allow a greater scope for things to come.
They have also just changed the game engine from shader 2.0 to shader 3.0
They have also just changed the UI render to the new Carbon UI.
They have also just made huge, HUGE inroads into the lag problem.
What does this all mean? It means that, at the moment, CCP are putting in a lot of 'behind the scenes' maintenance into Eve. So no, you're not seeing new features being thrown into your faces constantly.
Let CCP knock through a few walls and put in new doors before you start complaining the carpet is the same as it was in 2009
I totally agree. Keep up, CCP!

You guys do realize that this makes YOU the chumps for sticking around, paying for this, the product you say sucks so much. Businesses exist as long as there is a customer base - your very presence here is an endorsement of CCP, their actions, their product.
If you really feel they aren't giving your money's worth, than quit. They certainly wont care to change as long as you're here whining, while still paying.
If CCP were an in-game corp that was sucking up isk at other pilots expense, we'd simply call that WINNING. But out of game, their capitalist tendencies are somehow troll fodder? Gimme a break.
You may very well be RL isk fodder to support vampires, dust, whatever. But please don't pretend its against your will or that CCP is somehow taking advantage of you. You know what you're dealing with here, buck up and take ownership of the corp YOUR dollars keep alive, or GTFO and stop whining.

You know.. that explains alot. *sigh* Why.. are you guys just now (on the eve of the patch) putting together the patch notes? It's no wonder those things always have so much missing from them and why it always looks like you don't have your crap together.
Why are you not modifying an internal "living document" that is the patch notes EACH time you make a change to the game from patch to patch and THEN publishing THAT document the night before? At least you would know that it's the complete list because you have been adding to it faithfully since the last patch.
I suppose that would be a little too organized and professional.

I'm pretty sure that'd be a really bad idea, internal changelogs should not be identical to patch notes for end users.
For instance, an in-depth explanation on how a certain exploit has been resolved should not be in the patch notes, if the content has not yet been released it'll be an exploiting 101.
Besides that, internal changelogs are usually more of a technical nature, end users are more interested in the impact on the gameplay. Stuff that doesn't impact gameplay directly shouldn't be included in patch notes, such as a memory leak fix, or certain refactors for robustness.
tldr; Internal changelog should and must be filtered / translated before it's presented to the end users as patch notes.
Why is everyone *****ing so much these days?

Clearly, "NPC ECM rebalancing" and a MT store for clothing are much more impressive than entire new facets of gameplay in the form of wormholes, starbases, tech levels, and capital ships.

Totally agree here, the EvE forums have always been pretty poor but the latest spate of crying, shouting and blowing everything out of proportion is pretty bad.
Pretty much mirrors the rubbish people get fed by the news/media these days though so i suppose its the new "human" condition, fight it if you can but most who try just get drowned out by the ****.

Edited by: Claska on 21/06/2011 11:04:59 Edited by: Claska on 21/06/2011 11:03:22 I've been looking forward to incarna ever since i first heard about it all those years ago, and now it's finnaly getting realeased, however i don't know how CPP can call this expansion incarna. As far as i'm concerned Incarna is walking in stations and interacting with other people in the station enviroment, owning shops and what not. This expansion is not incarna, this expansion is Walking in captain's quarters of only one race, and some extra space-side content and the Incarna engine. It won't be incarna till you can at the vey least go out into the station and intereact with other peeps
I don't get why CPP doesn't release it fully, i mean they have tons of content for it already made so what gives? I wouldn't mind if all of said content was minmatar design only, it would still be more Incarna then what this expansion is. Out of all the expanions i've been through (since RMR) this has been the one that i have most been looking forward to and been most disapointed by.
CPP you made such a big deal about Incarna and when you finnaly release it, we get this? one room and the ability to look out onto our ship in hanger, we can't even gauge it's true size since were not close enough, I can tell it's big but not how big in relation to my toon. Also your Incarna teaser/trailer lied, it clearly shows the pod in a corridor/room thing instead we get the pod attached to the catwalk that you can view your ship from, I would have prefered the the pod room from fanfest you showed a few years ago.
Last but not lease, you do have the other Races Captain quaters done, at least as evidence by some Fanfest videos so why arn't you releasing them? why only one race? I think that's the worst of all, you can't even let us of the non-matari have our own quaters (i want a gallente one) I just hope to god that when you do release the others, you at the VERY LEAST let us choose which one we want instead of based on your toon's race.

Just a guess, but I'm pretty sure they do not, in fact, have "tons of content" ready for it. In fact, I'd imagine they have close to nothing for Incarna that actually affects gameplay ready.
