I like this idea but at the same time i would like to know what hammerhead is currently planning and then perhaps, pick the better

I would envisage a situation in which a Geddon pilot wanting 7 megapulse IIS would need to use four to six of his low slots on CPU and PG upgrades.
Ok now thats ridiculous.
Going from having to fit zero pg/cpu upgrades to 6 is just insane. ________________________________________________________

Originally by: Lallante how many fitting modules does a typhoon need to have enough CPU or PG to fit 6 1400mm IIs? (I know it only has 4 turret slots, but nevertheless the principle still applies).
Id be surprised if its less than 3 or 4
Erm, you're comparing a 1400mm II to a Mega Pulse.
That and the fact that you are trying to fit 6 guns on a ship only made to house 4.
Not a very good example at all

Personally, I still think reduction to 10km optimal and a trackiong boost makes most sense. Will not render the training useless by far, just will change the megapulse setups (apoc AND geddon) from "I win" to "I win, IF". AND it removes a currently strongly overpowered gun from medium range combat, at which range no single gun or race should ever get an advantage imo.
An optimal of 10km will give MF an optimal of 5km. That will make it a pathetic excuse for a blaster as well as being completely different from the pulses it derives it's attributes from.
I don't see how that solves anything besides putting a big 'useless' sign on megapulse.
I see keeping it's optimal but nerfing it's tracking as a more sensible option. How about we start with something like this on chaos and see how things go?
Small steps, not huge nerfs. ________________________________________________________

Originally by: Rod Blaine hmm yes, 10km might be overdoing it a bit.
But only tracking isnt gonna cut it either I'm afraid.
You could reduce the tracking by 25% and it would still hit perfectly fine at 30km tbh.
Maybe an optimal of say 16km ? I could see a tracking boost in order, just like blasters need a slight one.
It's tbh the only way in which it could be allowed to keep its enormous damage. I can't see a way to balance it at medium range with that damage, or even close to that damage.
But Hammer has already made his mind up in which direction he is first going to be looking I think.
Let's wait and see and hope he posts something soon.
I think keeping it's optimal around 15km with MF is required but i'd rather not bicker over numbers tbh, it's pointless. Like you said, HH should be posting something soon so i think it's better to just wait and see what he has planned.

Originally by: theRaptor I have a real shocking idea. Nerf the crystals especially Radio, it might only do EM but it does a ton of it.
P.S. I have equal SP in Gall, Cald and Amarr and own one BS from each race.
It does 4 more damage then long range artillery ammo which does 2 damage types. Hybrid does **** but HH said he was going to fix that as it is obviously broken. If you want to make radio do 24 damage like projectile ammo then i want 2 damage types rather then just EM. ________________________________________________________
