I was wondering if anyone could give me the basic in's & outs, pro's & con's of starting your own corp.
I'm in one at the moment, small & only a few people are online anymore, which is why i came up with the idea in the first place. But i know nothing about running a corp, nothing about it's benifits etc.
So if i was to start my own corp & managed to get a few followers, what should i be expecting for myself or workng towards. I'd be grateful fo any ideas, been playng for 6+ months & gettin along well, but i need more.
Again Grateful for any help .. Cheers People

Confirming all CEO's think they're running a cult.

First order of business: What do you want your corp to do?
I'm still on the first order of business BTW, so I think I'll stop there in giving advice.

I dunno the full pic yet, but i'm not the only one who getting or has already gotten cold feet in this corp, 1 player has already left & barely 2-3 bother logging on anymore.
I just want a crop where people are willing to play, from there it's all to come. Which is why i could do with a few pointers.

first order of business is to figure out what you want to do. If you want to just have a chat-room to talk to others in while you run missions, go back to a NPC corp.
Without a 'mission statement' or goal, a Corp offers nothing of any real value to anyone. Pick a direction and find some people who want to do the same thing you want to do.
Good luck! .

Simply put, you need to create a reason for them to log in. Eve corps work because people log in to do stuff together. You, as CEO need to facilitate this. You need to get people involved, ans create ops that get people to log in and play together, to create the bonds that will make your corp great.
Just don't give anyone director roles until you've run off with the corp wallet yourself.

If you've not yet been in an active corp, I'd suggest you go find one and join it for a while. Then you can learn more ins and outs and see what's what. If you're not a jerk, you'll get some roles and learn things as you go.
Then maybe you'll know if running a corp is what you really want to do.

Shame some good advice given. I might just up & leave the corp then, the reaon it's a shame is that the few people who do actively log in still were decent, funny people people whom i would have to leave behind.
Well i suppose the universe ain't such a big place, maybe i'll run in to them again one day, but i guess for now i should aim my ship a little to the right of ths star, keep going & never look back.

Don't leave them behind, take them with you. Don't have to have the "CEO" title to lead ya know.

The best reason to have a one-man Corp is that the Corp Chat Channel is nice and quiet.

2) 0% Tax 3) Easy Wallet Management (One for PLEX money, Another to save for that especially expensive ship) 4) Easy Hangar Management with Corporate Hangars 5) Easy to Set up High-Sec POS (For R&D)
hmm....good reasons.
Cons (non-one-man): 1) NOOBs constantly asking for help 2) NOOBs attracting Griefer War Decs 3) Long-Road to do anything constructive, as a corp. 4) The usual corporate drama. (Apparently it is wrong to hit on a now ex-corpmate's sister..)
