I was playing with the overview trying to config it so that only pilots to whom i'd be at war with would be the only thing showing up. It came to me as a surprise that its simply not possible! The presets i've had until now where more generalizing. I never actually had to chose 1 specific type of state to be displayed on the overview so i never noticed this flaw.
The problem is actually quite simple. In the "states" sub tab of the "Filters" tab, you have the ability to switch off everything from players with bad standing, to players in your gang, players with good standings etc. All EXCEPT for neutral pilots. Pilots to whom you dont have set standings.
You cant totally customize the overview as you are stuck with displaying neutrals.
Anyone already noticed this, or any topic previously posted before mine on this subject? Or did i do something wrong that i'm not aware of yet?
Maybe put this up as sticky if this is in fact something that needs fixing? |

Here is what I do:
Set all hostiles as having a red background . . . ignore friendlies . . . Fire on anyone red and debate on firing on everyone else . . . its good to keep track of neutrals because, in a war zone, they are sometimes Alts spying, checking the route or making BMs.
Another option is set all the NPC factions as having a high standing . . . I haven't tried it but that should help a bit when you ignore friendlies.

Edited by: Cmdr Sp0ck on 18/02/2005 12:01:08 That depends. If you're in Yulai doing a empire war, the mass amount of neutrals can be confusing/annoying. My previous settings where probably like yours. I had everything removed except bad standings, neutrals, bad security rating pilots, etc. But that is mostly suited for 0.0 combat were there aren't mass pilots jumping around unless it's an enemy fleet
Well, the only work around is to set standings to every player corp to + standings. Not really worth the trouble. I was pointing this out so people could know about it. |

The best thing I find is the flashing red background. This got turned off after the last patch (much to my annoyance). Just make sure that war targets flash red. Also turn off gang mates in the overview. They are the last thing you want to lock by mistake.

Set it to display nothing but war targets, and set war targets as highest priority aswell. That fixed it for me.
