Who are you anyway ? You had an audit done and what did it prove. Proved that you are character trader , also proved that you had someone else buy characters for you. But it didnt give complete history on Raw23 because it ended coming up to a dead end, and the auditor then had to go to you to ask why, and take your word for the explanation given.
Why did it come to a dead end because youve got something to hide and you decided to hide it. Now thats a fact wouldnt you say.
Any investment in eve is not safe but to say Block is less safe i think is unfair. I think he is more safe than most.
He has been around for over 5 years seems to have a geniune interest in the MD area. Has run business and many bonds and has always paid them out and has recently made a stock exchange.
Block been around 5 years Raw23 how long you been around?
You the next cosmoray ?
umad, bro?

I'm interested in information and speculation on the stock fraud thing I just posted about. I'm not interested in seeing people troll each other. As far as I'm concerned pretty much everyone involved in MD is a potential scammer, likely scammer, has previously scammed, will eventually scam, or some combination thereof. None of you are more or less reliable than another. Probably half of you are alts of the other half. Anyway... |

As far as I'm aware, the 'tinfoil' meme denotes speculation about facts. I have been pretty careful never to accuse Block of preparing a scam because there is no evidence for it. What I have asked for is information in order to build up a risk profile. Given Block's responses I have been unable to form a positive opinion of his operations as yet. Whilst this might change if he ever gets the audit he committed to six months ago I'm not sure I'll be able to get past the evidence of his personality that came out during the 'discussion phase' of his last bond. As to sticking my oar in whenever Block's name is mentioned this is not true at all. I don't think I have posted on any Block-related topics for over three months. This thread, however, specifically asked for opinions on BSAC and I can't think of a more legitimate venue to post my views in than one that explicitly canvasses said views.

This is a slight misrepresentation. The auditor did not 'take my word' and nor did I ask them to. Both the auditor and myself flagged the relevant issues in my thread. You also ignore the other aspect of the audit û it confirmed my asset levels to be what I claimed. So, the audit threw up some confirmations of my claims and showed that some of my claims could not be confirmed (but did not show any of my claims to be false). The key point is that, like you, potential future investors have the details before them and are able to base their investment decisions on something beyond just my word. That is, I sought to be as transparent as possible and took the good with the bad. This is precisely what I have been asking Block to do.

No. Actually this is the opposite of a fact. It is ungrounded speculation of the type that I have NOT levelled at Block. It is also not true. I have nothing to hide and that was precisely why I had the audit done that revealed this information. The character checking came to an end (not a dead end as it was able to examine my 18 characters) because there were no means to pursue the questions at issue any further.

Good. You have formed your risk assessment and I have formed mine. I prefer mine, though, as yours doesn't seem to be backed by anything other than Block's time served. As to whether Block is less safe than most, I'm not sure I would say that. What I believe is that very large offerings are statistically (i.e. historically) far, far more likely to fail or scam than small or medium offerings. Given that they typically pay out lower returns as well I think it behoves everyone interested in MD investments to subject them to much greater scrutiny than most other offerings.

I've been around for just under two years and have done a fair bit on MD in that time (evesearch is your friend) but I don't think that really has any bearing on the criticisms I have levelled at BSAC (arguments from authority are very weak). I would suggest that you would be better off considering the actual issues rather than engaging in personal attacks. If you have any more questions about my audit or wish to attack me a little more please do so in the appropriate venue (http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1349422&page=5)
To conclude, as Elise said, 'umad bro?'
Edit - Apologies to the OP.

I think we're all a bit bemused by the dust up going on here.

Stockledgers and CEOs
The BOD and the CEO has access to the stock ledger and can view shareholderÆs name and volumes. The names in the ledger are the names of the eve player. Accounts are not transferable. The CEO can easily verify that the total number of shares in the stock ledger matches the total number of shares in BSAC MMM wallet. In addition, they both have access to the transaction logs.

I'm not sure if this is directed at me or one of your detractors.
Is the stock fraud scenario I described something a buyer should be worried about? |

Wish I had an answer for you Mara. It seems pretty reasonable to me. I think people are too entertained by the e-peen swordfight to give any kind of a good answer though, sorry.

Usually the oldguard is all over this sort of thing. I had expected it to devolve into accusations and finger pointing. Perhaps some hair pulling. Maybe I should ***** slap someone. |

Edited by: RAW23 on 22/06/2011 21:27:45 @Mara û I think the problem may be that you didn't actually ask the question you wanted answered in the OP. Rather, you asked for peoples' opinions on BSAC, including its safety. Anyone not interested in that question probably stopped reading the thread long before you posted your actual question in post 29.
On that topic, if the mechanics are as you say then, as you point out you could carry out an interesting deception. However, I'm not sure where the benefit is for the scammer. If he is going to walk off with the isk anyway it doesn't really matter whether he has sent out the shares for the real corp or the fraudulent corp. There might be some legs in using the technique to defraud someone in a third party mediated share sale scam by one of the scammers' alts though. Scammer's alt advertises shares for sale; sale agreed using a trusted third party; third party is sent the shares by the alt and having no way of knowing they are not the right ones forwards the isk to the alt and the fake shares to the buyer. I imagine it could also be exploited in arrangements involving a board of directors locking down BPOs. However, it might be considered an exploit. Regardless, if your data is right then this provides another good reason not to use the in-game share system when offering either debt or equity.
Edit - Perhaps it might be worth changing the thread title.
