hi - a pal and myself have been having trouble finding any WT's to fight in highsec and I was looking for any tips that other highsec wardec corps have tried that they might recommend. We have been looking for corps with 30 and above members (never less than 10:1 odds) and have tried finding corps via the ingame adverts, the forums, the recruitment channel and by lingering in trade/mission hubs to look for active corps but as soon as we declare war, memberships seem to slink away. We're not wardecing mining/industrial corps and those that we are wardecing always have 'PVP' in their corp description so I would have thought that this combined with the huge odds in their favour would have gotten us a fight, but it seems not to be the case.
So - if you are looking for some lulz by attacking some highsec corps, how do you decide to go after? what do you look for in a target and what do you avoid?
thanks, and feel free to flame away =)

Lots of people have PVP in their corp description but if it's not backed up with a competent killboard then you are wasting your time.
Get out of high-sec.

if they advertise pvp with anything else, don't bother. I wardecced a 250 man alliance that said they pvp'd and they hired snatch victory to wardec us and ran. And also we had maybe 5 or 6 active characters in the corp.
Good luck finding anything though, if you discover some kind of magic secret to getting empire people to fight I would like to hear it. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - It takes a beast to stand and bleed |

I've found that finding stupid gets you fights for a while until the discover that 'omg that hurts and is expensive' and they dock up.
Finding stupid is not easy. But when you do..it is magic.
Good luck. --

Metagaming. Get a spy inside their ranks, so you know what's up when the wardec goes live. ...Then when you stopped to think about it. All you really said was Lalala. |

When a highsec corp is wardecked, the following usually happens:
1) Spontaneous amnesia regarding the whereabouts of the undock button 2) Massive exodus after a few days when they realize they can't do much 3) General hiding/disappearing into WH's etc.
Size, activity or experience does usually not matter. Their vet players are usually too busy in nullsec somewhere, and what floats around in empire ends up looking for greener pastures.
If you are looking for a fight, then indeed, your best option is to wardeck one of the bigger corps in this game. -

I had a 3 man corp that did this for a long time. Honestly you need to shoot more for the 50-60 range for corps and the 200+ range for alliances.
Here's a few more tips:
Dont look in trade hubs. These corps are over picked by other griefer corps and know what to do. Find a corp running missions in an odd area, they often become Complacent.
Pick a trade path and hangout by a gate. show info on pilots passing through. Corp/Alliance and what system they're based out of etc.
Check killboards for companies that have lost fleets in 'fun' lowsec roams.
Dont be afraid to dec alliances, you'll be suprized how little the various corps talk to each other. and it's really not that expensive. ----------- |

I tradewindow scam people on an alt, and wardec the corp of whoever does things like "WAAAH I GOT SCAMMED," or "Don't do as he says it's a scam!!!"
This is a quick way of learning that said people are noobs and/or bad at eve. I will then stalk the killboard and membership of the person's corp to see if they are as bad as their member seems to be, how old their characters are, where they live, etc.
If everything checks out, I'll put in a dec on my main and go at it. -------- Enemy corps raided into disbandment: Three.

Go to a mission hub, find a station and wardec the first drake that undocks. No need spend too much time looking for cowards. There is a reason they're still in high sec. Then wardec another wardec corp that hangs around said trade or mission hubs. Once you get bored of dock-undock games try getting out of high sec for your PVP fix.

most highsec carebears will just dock up for the week or drop corp if you dec them. Larger highsec alliances will either station spin or just blob the hell out of you (i.e. they aren't interested in giving you GFs they just blob you to make you go away).
Decent action can be found in lowsec if you set up in the right areas, and NPC controlled nullsec is always a great place to find fights as its more of a free-for-all than sov null is.

I had a hard time finding corps which would provide fights. I ended up putting wardecs on large alliances. Expensive but they pay off in some kills. Mostly just camping pipes from Jita though.

Edited by: Red Neckromonger on 23/06/2011 17:08:42 I would recommend looking around in the new player systems for active Corp recruiters. They're filling their ranks with brand new players who don't/won't know what to do during a war. That's if you want easy kills, which seems to be why you would wardec a hisec Corp. I'm a care bear by profession and love seeing the war targets linger around the station I'm docked up in while I play on my alt in an npc Corp. I'm sure they have Alts too, but they're probably a little more attentive to their wardec-ing toon.
As care bears, we're getting smarter you see. I am making isk on my wardecced toon even as he's sitting in station, through avenues like R&D, PI, invention, manufacturing, etc. If you're like me and don't need the "thrill" of pew pew, you could be wardecced 24/7/365 and still have a blast.
I just wanted to give you the perspective of one care bear who's been wardecced many times and learned a lot from each dec. I'm not bashing on "hisec griefers" for wanting to have a good time. Just like you think care bearing is boring, I think sitting outside a station or on a gate for hours on end praying that someone undocks is pretty boring too.
Like someone else mentioned, if you're looking for a "real" fight with even semi-willing pilots, go to low/null. I lived in The Spire for a short time, and there were regular roams by razor (I think) everyday a couple times a day (seriously, action in The Spire!). Naturally I safe up, but there was always someone not paying attention and would lose their Hulk or battleship or even their carrier on a couple of occasions. I guarantee you'll get into fights with more than just noobs, and even have some pretty even-talented pilots shooting at you too. But that's not why you wardec hisec Corps is it? ;-)
