We have discovered an issue with the Mac client patch. If you are a Mac client user, we strongly advise that you do not patch your EVE Online client at this time. This issue is being fixed and we will update you as soon as the issue has been resolved.

So, what happens if you were among the impatient ones who already patched?

If you didn't backup you can either download Incursion now or wait for the full Incarna download.
You don't happen to have Time Machine running do you? |

So this would be why verification failed twice in a row? What do I do?

I was thinking that it was a bad idea to patch early as I was doing it. Oh well. My own fault for being impatient.
I didn't back it up but I still have the original Incursion download saved. Do I need to DL the full new build or what?
Kinda sad that this happens pretty much every major update isn't it?

I patched early because here at work I got a big pipe, can download a full build in 20 minutes. So I can recover from oopes fast. But once I get home, 2 hours for a download.

Actually it has been discussed on these forums for almost a month http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1517506&page=1#2 --- I don't know! I don't know why I did it, I don't know why I enjoyed it, and I don't know why I'll do it again! Bart Simpson. |

Yeah, someone needs to be reminded that they have Mac players bug hunting for them but it doesn't do us any good when nobody pays attention. As a developer I understand how hard the job is and I give CCP a lot of slack because of that. But they should use the information we are passing back to them. |

just out of interest is the problem found the inability to type into the password box?

Client patch available, downloaded it... preferences folder issue not fixed, but no worries, because neither is the password issue!

So should we just drop everything and download the entire client again? I have already tried patching and gotten the error message that something failed verification. Always dampens the shine on gaming for me when developers sideline Mac players...

Update: There is still an issue with the Mac client patch but the full client download is available.
Thanks for not linking the URL.

It's pretty outrageous that CCP doesn't seem to give Mac users the same level of technical support and care that they offer to Windows users. Please sort it out.

^ 23:07 "Mac client users will need to download the full client."
Yet another example how CCP folks start a thread here, forget about it & post elsewhere ....
Take note of the idiot feedback threads, too:
http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1532927
^ Macintosh - "EVE Online: Incarna 1.0 Macintosh Issues and Feedback Thread" pointing to:
http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1532928
^ Eve Information Portal - "EVE Online: Incarna 1.0 Feedback Thread" pointing to 'Issues' thread:
http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1532929
^ Eve Information Portal - "EVE Online: Incarna 1.0 Issues Thread" pointing to feedback thread...
So in short: Forget about posting here. It will not get read. |

Whats wrong? CCP has all the information. And seems like this issue was even predicted, and still somehow managed to happen live yet again. Sounds like Mac players are just second-class gamers.
