I'm not sure if someone brought up the subject of the station..
I mean screen that appears after docking (when you turn off CQ)! Looks pathetic- like some random walpaper for windows :/ + I have no idea what ship I'm in LOL!!!
This sucks, give us previous screen where we could see our ship hanging in the station... + I miss double clicking on this ship in station and opening cargohold. Choosing it from menu is amazingly annoying!!!!+waste of time
Incarna is a mistake in my opinion :/

Most issues I've experienced have already been mentioned here, except:
I'm having a really hard time closing windows. Most of the time when trying to close a window by clicking the X, the X will disappear but the window stays open. I have to move the mouse cursor around (so it changes from an arrow to the crosshairs) for the X to reappear and try again. This seems to happen mostly in the CQ, but it's happened in space a couple of times too and can get really annoying. It's almost as if the X only works if I'm clicking the exact right pixel.

Vjorn Angannon i was getting the same error. After 3 downloads of the patch. I now have a working client.
This is what i did as a last ditched attempt
i downloaded a new repair tool from this link http://cdn1.eveonline.com/client_repair/324/repair.exe
I went to the eve client program installation and deleted the old repair tool. Then copied and pasted the new tool into the folder.
I then ran the repair tool. This brought down about gig of data. i then launched the client without any problems.
This is the developer blog on using the repair tool Linkage

I donĘt know if this will work for you but it fixed a similar problem I had.
As you already have the 2 ępayloadĘ files downloaded and know where they are stored, first make a new folder somewhere, (on a separate partition is best if you have one), and call it say ęCQ InstallationĘ.
Copy the 2 ępayloadĘ files into this folder. Download a fresh copy of the installer from the full client install page and move it into the same folder. You already have the 'payload' files so don't need to download them again.
Now run the installer and it should find the ępayloadĘ files in the folder, do all the checks, unpack the files, and then install the client.
Good luck.

I experience the same problem since the Incursion tatoo patch ( was working really nice before ), everything related to the character creator freeze my screen for 5 sec each time i make a modification. Creating a creator is a terrible experience when each time you switch hair for exemple you have to deal with 5seconds freeze... The same freeze occurs when i preview the clothes in the NEx.
I'm using an ATI 4870 1GB

I thought it was me, but I have the exact same problem, sometimes if I click the X it seems to do the 'yes I've been clicked' animation then vanish without the window closing. Very odd.

Edited by: ArmEagle Kusoni on 23/06/2011 11:41:28 Another issue I forgot to mention in here
Most lights in CQ look just fine. But the lights at the door in the quarters and on the outside of the balcony seem to have broken lights. I've tried low to high settings and nothing makes a difference.
edit (sigh can't wait for the new forums...
So I was saying. The only thing you can really see on that image is that there's a very clear separation of a lighted section on the top left of the door frame and a dark section at the top right. Depending on my angle/distance from either doors the lighting changes from dark to light and back and forth. So there is flickering of light and the gradients shift around clearly too.
I'll link my system info again here for the ones not managing to find the link to my previous post(s):

CQ seems very buggy atm...
First time when started it locks whole computer for about 10 minutes (harddisk went crazy, sound looping), then hilarious low FPS with missing textures.
Thumb: Screen: http://img651.imageshack.us/img651/1443/20110623102518.jpg
After that invisible character. Cant move sometimes, doubleclicking works fine but "wasd" seems bugged. Disabling the CQ seems the only way to be able to play EVE.
Client crashes after some time, also when doing nothing than staying docked.
Memory leaks spotted! Running client uses >1 gig of RAM and continuous go up, then windows alarms because of low memory.
First time that added feature breaks the whole game experience so much!
Poor job to QA and coders. Its a shame...

If your hardware is overheating and finaly dying because of that fix your hardware and stop blaming software developers. If your gfx card runs beyond spec without proper cooling, get one which runs within spec or get one with proper cooling. Do the same for your CPUs.
Your hardware is supposed to handle high load. If it can't handle that (in terms of temperature or stability) select your hardware more carefully.

Edited by: Licinius CrassusFilius on 23/06/2011 12:55:21 My system was running faultlessly prior to Update 3, including dual boxing with one system in CQ.
Now, GPU is running very hot (90 deg C) with one client loaded, CPU at 100% and I have an invisible character when loading the station environment. System is not overclocked and I clean installed Windows two weeks ago. The only change is adding the latest client update.
Oh, and the scan probes are still at 50% strength.
Bug report ID is 113635.
Also the bug report tool didn't allow me to select a file in Chrome (or didn't tell me that one had been successfully selected)
*EDIT*: Changed all my graphic settings to low quality, disabled station environment & HDR and was IN SPACE (not in station) and still saw my GPU temperature climb to 90 deg C

Double clicking in space seems to be a bit unresponsive. Often I have to double click up to five times for my ship to do anything. Tested this both with my mouse as well as with my trackball. Framerate isn't the issue, as my game is running silky smooth.

Thank you both very much for your responses. They give me a couple more options to try.
@ Thom Baron, yes that link does seem to be broken; however, I think I found another link to the repair tool....altho it is an older version. It is my understanding that the tool will update itself tho????
It is getting late for me so I may not try the suggestions out tonight. However, I'll come back here to report my success/failure when done.

In regards to failed patching....same thing happened to me too...tried multiple times. Finally...I decided to unistall eve completely and manually searched my pc for any folders/docs/etc related to eve after unistall was complete. Though I did copy my overviews/bookmarks/things like that to another folder that had nothing to do with where eve would look. Downloaded full client, ran install.....now....it works!! So that's my idea that worked for me.
Also, to anyone have problems on a MAC.....toss it in the garbage and get a pc. problem solved.

Same here, been a couple of weeks at least. A good fix would be to have those options (Pin, Minimize, Close) enlarge when you mouse over them. Now I just r-click anywhere on the header and select 'close'. Works every time. Trying to get them to minimize takes a couple of clicks but nowhere near as bad as trying to close the windows.
A few other bugs:
Sound: The click sound to select item on overview, activate modules or items in hangar and cargo hold is very low. Targeting lock sound very low. Probe scanning sound very low. Aura voice (Warping to....) and (Warp Drive Active) while in ship very low. NPC chatter very loud and persistent, also very loud near Jump gates. Sounds in Station Dock area very loud.
Scanning: The Alt centering option will sometimes make the probes jump out of formation and become inverted and askew to each other. Have mentioned this before and has been happening since day 1. Top left corner of screen has very small text that intermittently would flash the actions (Idle, Warping, Scanning, etc) of Probes. (Took me a while to figure out what it was) This is not needed due to that info being displayed in the scanning box.
Turret Graphics: Autocannon Barrels constantly spin. Is this intended? I think they should stop spinning if not shooting ammo. Need to zoom up close on ship which fills most of the screen just to see them. Even closer to see the Salvager. I like to zoom out a bit to see a portion of the Deadspace area.
Captains Quarters: Not going to go over what everyone else has said except for this - the past couple of times after docking (Just before Down Time) character wouldn't walk, no response to WSAD keys or double click of left mouse.

The fact that CQ uses more system resources than necessary is not what "Solomon XI" is complaining about. He repeatedly states his (and others) hardware overheating and dying because of the software he's running on it.
Yes, CCP has a lot to do to fix things they broke in the latest release. But it's not their fault if users running hardware which obviously isn't properly built.

Originally by: Janus Nanzikambe Every time I jump a wormhole, gate, dock, undock, or log in (right after character selection) I get a popup from Windows saying:
display driver has stopped responding and has recovered
After a two second blackscreen. This started after Incursion patch but used to happen intermittently - now it happens every time! This delay is causing me to miss tackles & tbh is destroying my will to play this game :P
Is CCP aware of this problem? It has been pointed out repeatedly in the 1.6 issues thread, the 1.6.1 issues thread and now here. I also know of a half dozen other people affected by it. I'd file a crash report, except the game doesn't totally crash - so there is none. I'm happy to provide any info needed.
I get the problem on 2 of my PCs, the two that get it both run Windows 7 with a GeForce 310M all drivers are the most reccent. I tried a fresh install of Windows 7 with the drivers the manufacturer ships & no updates - same problem.
same issue using a i3 530

I'm having a really hard time closing windows. Most of the time when trying to close a window by clicking the X, the X will disappear but the window stays open. I have to move the mouse cursor around (so it changes from an arrow to the crosshairs) for the X to reappear and try again. This seems to happen mostly in the CQ, but it's happened in space a couple of times too and can get really annoying. It's almost as if the X only works if I'm clicking the exact right pixel.
+1. I experience this as well.
But making a more general statement, I see wider lack of responsiveness w/in the client UI where mouse clicks and right clicks in menus sometimes invoke the desired command / response. And sometimes not.
One example is with copy and pasting text of any size / type. Several times w/both Incarna and Incursion versions, I will select a bit of text, right click, copy and go to paste only to find that my 'previous' clipboard contents get pasted. Only when I go back to the desired selected text and copy will I meet with success.
PC, Windows Vista 64-bit, C2D 6400, 6GB RAM, 7900GS, single client running mostly.

@ CCP, I'd still like to hear from ya'll...
Thanks, I figured as much - I've already tried repairing from numerous versions of the repair tool, so I doubt I will gain any new results from downloading a different (if it is different) repairer...
EHHHH still no eve client. I think this is all a conspiracy to prevent me logging into eve because I complained about monocle prices.
