Seriously. I am new to EVE and I just don't understand the amount of complaints about not being able to spin the ship in the hanger since the first stage rollout of Incarna....someone please explain this. I am not being silly or trolling. I really do want to know as it seems to have REALLY ****ed a lot of peeps off.

Because ship spinning was actually better than the godawful gameplay and delusions of grandeur of CCP.

Because the current mechanics of how the CQ works makes no sense.
Why do I have to exit my ship every time I dock? What If I just want ammo or whatever? Does that mean I have exit my capsule?
The Hanger and Captains Quarters need a button on the neocom separating them.

You ever play CS and hit the "Q-Q" to weapon swap when you know you're safe? How about try to bunny hop just because you can at the beginning of the round? Same thing.
Also, they took away the ability for me to drag my ships into the window, and see what ship I'm in once I've disabled CQ. There's more, but :effort: -- Eve Forum ***** Extraordinaire On Twitter

Because i want to see my currently active ship
Is it a thorax, a deimos, a phobos, vigilant?
I'm also used to changing the active ship by drag-dropping on the station environment (not really important)
Give us an option (esc menu) with the pod at it's current location, the pilot inside the pod and active camera using camera drone around the active ship |

This ^
It was a common way to occupy our idle hands and mind while being docked or doing mundane and repetitive tasks.
It's a human thing, and now our only real recourse is to spin the POV while standing in our CQs, which will just end up with quite a lot of carpet stains in real life...

Thank you those of you for these replies explaining why you have interface issues of CQ. But I am wondering more specifically about the act of spinning the ship. It seems to be a huge complaint that players cannot sit in the dock and "spin" their ship. As a new player I am not aware of any history on this. Ayieka said it was an EVE inside joke....is that all it is that has people THIS ****ed off about this one aspect? They can't spin their ship as an EVE inside joke? I am hoping to hear from the ship "spinners" just to get some insight into this...just curious...

Seeing your active ship is actually pretty important, and you realize how important when it's gone. At least that's the case for PVP'ing, dunno about PVE

^ aye, something to do
Spinning the ship and looking at it while the fleet finishes forming up or waiting for this or that killed time. Swinging the POV around is not the same. ______ Hello WoW players. Look at your toon, now back to me. Sadly it isn't me, but if it wasn't simplistic pre scripted linear mono dimensional game you could look like me. I'm in a Paladin |

You can still ship spin it just takes 2 extra clicks.
Of course its easier to make 10,000 word posts about it.
Much easier. . Adapt and overcome or become a monkey on an evolution poster.

OH, well the inside joke is that people who have played for a long enough time, or are not PvP saavy in the least, would spend an inordinate amount of time docked at a station doing absolutely nothing at all and just "spinning their ships in station"... i.e. veterans like myself for instance, (started in Feb of '08, a young vet), have played and done so much of the game over the years that I do not get antsy or eager at all to undock and "do it all" and am perfectly content to tinker with PI stuffs or just chat with corpsmates for hours while browsing EVEMon, EFT, the market, contracts, and all manner of other stuffs.
The more humorous aspect of it is of course that carebears who are wardecced will inevitably dock up and stay docked up and spin their ships for weeks at a time, in fear and loathing of actually ya know... playing the game... and fighting back...

incorrect
Te rage currently is against the low fps and lag fest with this resource greedy feature, which adds headache to station operations, plus spinning ship is currently better feature then this CQ crap.

Yet all of them were completely useless....Watch next they will remove Captain's Quarters, and people will be complaining about how those were removed....
Don't get me wrong, I miss them too, especially since they were removed right before I finished training for Carrier, but still. :P

You are overthinking and expecting to be spoon fed all the little details... it's a game... just play it. It is what it is, Why? is stupid and pointless. Do you expect a novel to explain every little detail for you down to the number of nosehairs in the villain's nostril? Those are boring and tedious, like freaking Stephen King.
I've been having laugh over laugh over all the comments griping about "breaking immersion"... think about that literally... ejected from a pod full of liquid... where the pilot is actually "immersed".. ^_^
Frankly I don't think the world has seen so much crying over "immersion" since the dunk or sprinkle religious debates 1800 years ago...
If you need CCP to do all the work for your imagination.. go read a book and exercise it a bit and come back and have some fun. |
