Just askin.
Usually they are heavily moderating.
It seems their practice is to release, then run and hide for a day.

Their around I saw them lock up a topic already. They are probably under the impression that letting us vent it out is smarter than trying to keep us from talking at this point, so they are probably very being very loose with their standards right now.

They're probably trying to discuss ways to positively spin this, or crack down on it. They're also probably ****ting themselves for the disaster this is causing. --

I suspect that the are currently in real-life shock, seeing all this reaction to their hard labour would be very demoralising. It seems that they need to do 4 things:
acknowledge the huge problem of Incarna.
Reverse CQ patch or make it optional, so that original hangar view is implemented again.
Clarify why these fluff updates are so more important then current game play issue, which were already named.
Why are they making this fail project DUST only for one console and splitting their Dev team on pretty much non profitable projects that are doomed before they even hit the game market.

Maybe they are all alt-posting in the pro-Incarna threads?
Most of teh heavy moderation and thread deletions happened yesterday right after patch.
You are not going to see official responses to anything non-trivial until PR and Marketing has had sufficient time to coach everyone at CCP properly.
The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the ho's and politicians will look up and shout 'Save us!' and I'll look down, and whisper 'no.' |

Every major release for a MMO whether it be an expansion, or a new release, always has its forums inundated with negative posts. This is normal. So there is no point for them to get involved yet. I'm sure that they will take things from the few actual meaningful posts and implement changes when needed. In reality, most of the people that play this game are not on the boards, but playing and enjoying the game. Board posters are the minority of the playerbase.

The damage is done. Nothing to be moderated at this point that the bad word filter can't fix.
The aur exchange rate will be adjusted down, they'll try to pass it off as a bad glitch and not a disgusting rip off and then get back to their usual crap of rolling out the next fail part of this expansion while saddling us with more bugs than ever.
Get used to " it's optional, you don't have to buy it " ( then why did you make it and how does it make the game better ) and it's not optional you have to use it ( even though we don't want and it's optional casue we dont have to buy it .... umm wait duh what ?)
The smell of fail will linger long. stay in your pod

Now that I know you guys are awake, and choosing to just read feedback instead of posting, I guess I have an answer to how true this all is.
I'm not going to quit over this yet, and I'm not really raging. I guess disappointment is more the word for it. I can't stop you from doing whatever you want with your own game, and of course from a business perspective what you are doing may indeed make you more money (I'm not in marketing, so I wouldn't know). I get the feeling though that older players don't want to follow you down that path, I know I don't. I like Eve, but I don't like this new direction. You seem to be getting a lot of bad PR already off of it, I'm not sure how many new players you'll have if those vets leave, maybe enough, maybe they'll drive them away on their way out...
In the mean time my subscriptions have been changed to 1 month at a time. Like I said, it's technically your game, including everything in it that is "mine", but if these changes go though, I'll really have to consider how much fun this game brings me. It certainly isn't enough if people start buying faction standings, or if I have to pay to store more ship fittings, something that we could do initially anyway...
I hope this doesn't come across as rage or threats. Just the reality. The reality for you is that you have to make money, the reality for me is that I will only keep playing this game as long as it is something I enjoy. Right now I do enjoy it, and I don't think the fan base would be up in arms if they didn't either, or if they didn't care about it.

Do they have any respect for anyone ? After the leaked pdf scandal, they should at least give us full apologies, I just feel like I have seminal fluid flowing from my repoductive engine after a long-forgotten night :D Yeah, I feel cheated badly !
I am really really sorry about whatever whenever ever happened to you and your dream world. I truly am...
Feel better now ?
You do understand analogy and the word "like" right ?

No.
I know it's a difficult concept, but please remember that not everyone lives in America and read the timestamp - you'll find it at the top of every single post in the forums.
CCP Zymurgist's comment was posted 11 hours ago. Yet again, I'd like to remind any Americans reading these threads that the EVE Dev team are mostly based in Iceland, which is many hours ahead of your fair country. The devs have been sleeping for hours whihc shuld explain the lack of replies. Once they've all woken up, gone to work, and had thier morning meetings they might give some sort of response.

No, I'm just an Englishman that wishes Yanks would realise that Iceland is much much closer to Europe than the USA and that the devs went to bed many many hours ago, and are probably only just now waking up. The whole .pdf leak and resultant ****storm has kicked off whilst they were asleep and unable to defend themselves.

Well, I really don't think nyone can plan for leaks like this :). And as I said in another thread, I'm pretty sure that
a) The Atlanta staff are all WoD Devs, not EVE ones and
b) Even if some CCP staff are awake, they certainly aren't going to risk recrimination from their employer by posting anything other than the Official Party Line.
Until the senior management and PR people have formulated their spin, the only option any dev that has been awake these past ~9 hours and reading the threads has been to stay silent until he's told what to say.

Yes, I live in America, no I didn't check timestamps, however, he isn't the only one who has responded that they are monitoring this (there was a comment on tweetfleet as well) so my comment remains valid, at least some of them are watching this and are not responding. Maybe the bigwigs aren't awake, I'll concede to that.
In any case, your comments show your just as arrogant and ****y as the "Americans" that you put down. It amazes me, as an American that has lived in several other countries, how much people will talk about how bad Americans are, how we think we're better than everyone else, or how the world revolves around us. You and your comments are no better than someone in America saying the same thing. As an AMERICAN I can't stand that attitude, from my own country or yours. You, by your own self assured smug comments have shown that your no better than those you call out, you think your better than everyone. Yes, people in America are, on average, jackasses. Guess what, so are people from your country, and every other country on this planet. I've learned this by living elsewhere and just listening to what those polite and perfect people say when they don't know someone they might offend is there.
Forgetting to check timestamps doesn't make me a stupid American, it means I forgot to check timestamps. You being a jackass doesn't make you a stupid <insert country here>, it just makes you a human I guess.

Once the majority of outrage has been written, CCP will start everything over in the new forums and loose all of the criticism. You don't believe it? Happen to know when the 1.6 release came out and when the first round of the new forums was turned on?

Don't worry, they'll be back just in the nick of time. Gogo Super Devs! ----------------------------------------------- One stupid item in a 'pay to play' game shouldn't cost 5 months worth of playtime to buy in an item shop! |

I think that dude is supposed to be dressed as The Shadow. You know, the subject of a long series of pulp fiction/graphic novels and a very bad movie starting Alec Baldwin?
From memory the catchphrase was, "who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men? The Shadow knows!ö
And now, EVE News 24 knows! Creation is so precious, and greed so destructive - http://v.gd/tm28yT |
