With all the rage and people quitting/threatening to quit, would adding the hangar view back in, with the *option* to enter CQ, be the easiest way for CCP to soothe the anger? Or is the existence of the already optional Noble/Aurum store more of a factor?

it would be a big step in the right direction... and is the major stumbling block to solving several other Incarna issues.
EDIT: the NEX is a slightly separate, fortunately optional, piece of trash that should never have been brought into being...
but till something that I need appears in it it can be ignored...
If something I need does appear in it I leave.

The NeX/Aurum thing is just the insult to the injury of being forced to use unfinished content instead of a perfectly serviceable and functional hangar interface. I would probably not give a damn about NeX if CCP hadn't also broken one of the least buggy features of the game.

CQ's mishmash of forced code is killing a lot of multi box subscribers out there. Far more damaging then the completely optional AUR.
Yet if you don't load CQ, how could CCP possibly tempt you to buy overpriced goods for avatars you cant load. ... oh wait.

It would be a step in the right direction. The Aurum issue, however, is very revealing in that we now know the goals of CCP and their true attitude towards the players, and it is very unappealing to say the least. There are plenty of other games out there to play that would be very happy to take ex-Eve players in if we aren't respected and listened to here.

The Inner Demons clamoring for the blood of *** ** CCP's ******** ******* would be appeased if the old station environment could be brought back and all the crap about Incarna would be irrelevant to me as they begin adding Colored Monocles for double the price, since I could literally spin my ship in happiness. Forcing people into a form of playing not giving the option to opt out is simply the whole basis of the uproar. See, this is a PEW PEW SPACESHIPS game, the moment they begin adding stuff NOT RELATED to PEW PEW SPACESHISP, is the moment they got drugged on the aroma of brand new crisp 100$ bills.
They can keep developing Incarna and all the awesomeness of the Psycho Killer Torture room they call CQ for all i care if my docking gameplay was left intact. Going out of the pod should be optional, thats all.

Yes I would be happy if the Hanger View returned.

No comment on the macro-transaction bull**** as the hanger view is a more pressing matter right now.

I'm enjoying CQ and have not turned it off, but I'm firmly in the camp of keeping the hangar view as an option. Why remove such a cool/well-liked feature?

The adding of features that facilitate purchasing sovereignty (via RMT war making supplies) with real money hurts a game that already suffers from too much of this, but as for "vanity" items, I don't care a fig about the Aurum store as I wouldn't use it anyway. I came to Eve to play "Spaceships Online", not "Dress Up Barbie and Ken".
What I do care about is when they make changes to the game, like this patch, that adds nothing and makes the game even more sluggish and cumbersome. The coding in WIS is obviously inferior looking at the lousy performance that is self evident even on some up-to-date machines. The CQ functionality is just a mess even though it looks nice.
I think the rage you sense is the general feelings that CCP has lost focus on the player base that made them. On the other hand, if CCP can milk more revenue out of a larger potential crowd who would like to play Barbie and Ken Online, then "Hello Barbie and Ken" is the future of Eve, but it won't be Eve then will it? If that is the future, whatever it will be then will have to do without me. I have purchased my sub by the year since 2005 and it runs out in January 2012. If the game hasn't changed course by then, I will be gone after my assets have been been spent on plex.

Absolutely - would even improve my opinion of CCP as we could then all say that we know for a fact that they listen to their customers. As it is they are not.

nope don't care - I hate microtransactions and I know from the LOTRO experience that CCP will move away fast from vanity to convenience to pay for benefits but at least its optional - thats the difference

CCP i assume will at some point make a way for players to create clothes. Torfi mentioned a long time ago that players would be able to run tailor shops in stations with Incarna. The current prices of Clothes i assume are to prevent a large effect on the market, CCP would never be stupid enough to keep the prices at the level they are now. I might as well go buy some real shirts and goggles instead then.
In regards to the threatening to quit, no one really does, or stays gone forever. If people leave new people will come in and appreciate Eve for the great game it is. Incarna is only gonna improve upon the great base it has laid for itself.

Hanger view would ease things alot, even having the hanger view from your ship and the option to get out and walk around.. would provide a good transition...

Adding this as an obvious post......
Maybe Akita should be on the dev team - not many people exhibit an ability to read the game so well. Or understand the player's will so perfectly.
Obvious solutions are obvious....once somebody has made them....er...obvious.

the splash screen with a door closed and no camera give me the impression to suffocate like being stuck on an elevator.
i have CQ active currently, but won't let it for long given i'm multiboxing, that the aurum clothes are totally unavailable, and that i don't have much reason to check the CQ screen... so yeah, would like the option to get back the old view.
but it's not mandatory, if they can do a better splash screen for the do not load, it would be okay for me.

I'd like if there were just more graphical settings to pick from, or just coded a better, which is something I believe they said they are doing so I can't really complain.
I heard that forcing CQ on players makes life harder for botters? If so then I guess I'm all for it :)
Although the vanity items, they should come with the character creator and painting your ship should cost only cost a few ISK... Not because I want these items for myself and don't want to pay to get them, but just because I think it's greedy of the company to do so to their paying customers.

I would be more like here. RMT store is stupid, WiS doesn't appeal to me (yet, who knows, they might make it good). So just making Incarna Optional would be good.

The Hangar should never have been removed, I think CCP's decision to force us into CQ despite the outcry here speaks volumes to the attitude & direction of a company that has lost touch with reality & it's playerbase.
yes Id like to see it return. Will it? No, I very seriously doubt it.
As it stands the MT situation is enough to send me screaming to the Hills, but the loss of hangar is just the icing on the cake, it really sticks in the craw don't it?
I mean I just don't want to log in again ever

I've decided not to re-sub to EVE when my account expired in a few days until CCP comes back to its senses.
I've had a constant sub running for over 5 years now, this is the first time I'll quit keeping an active account. In the last few weeks CCP has done more to harm the game and its reputation than it could have ever expected.
I've been saying it for weeks now that forcing the CQ onto players would be a disaster.
I didn't care much for the vanity item shop... and I couldn't have cared any less, if not for those outrageous prices. For me, its the last drop that made the bucket overflow.
This patch contains nothing that's even remotely useful to the average EVE player.
And the NON-RESPONSIVENESS from CCP with exception of their STUPID "whitty" but completely useless comments to their communities biggest worries are just ****ing me off.
Bye Bye EVE, see you when you get better.
PS: And to think I was hoping I could run an internship at the company... I'm quite happy I'm starting at Guerrilla games in September instead now.

WIS kept me amused for about 5 minutes...and that was limited to looking at my ships. Once I tried to multibox, amusement levels dropped. A lot.
Please CCP, give us the option of loading the old hangar view

Really removing Hanger made no sense. When you dock you are still in your ship, right?
Leave Ship option should put you into CQ.
The option would be nice, mainly on lower-end graphics cards found in laptops and such.
