Edited by: Sly Noble on 22/06/2011 22:25:30 INCARNA is the worst game expansion I've ever seen.
Its flat out UNPROFESSIONAL.
1) The quality of the product is unacceptable. Period.
I don't need to mention the myriad of problems because everyone is having them. This is flat out a case of Production/Marketing completely ignoring Quality/QA. Shoddy doesn't even begin to describe the functionality of this expansion. Do you know what other companies follow this practice? 3rd world manufacturing plants and companies that get shut down and permanently black listed.
The practice of ignoring QA is flat out unacceptable, especially for a big-name industry premiere like CCP, trying to win over new customers. If it were any other industry, auditors would smack CCP off Iceland so fast, Bjork's next album would consist solely of whimpering sounds and farts. Shame on you CCP.
2) Alienating/Abandoning a large percentage of the customer base.
Thankfully I don't need to drop another 3,000 hard-earned dollars on a brand new computer to even RUN THE GAME but MANY of your loyal customers do. Amidst tough economic times, CCP has ****ed off thousands of customers and DETERRED countless new subscriptions by forcefully and drastically increasing the requirements to use their product to the point that less than half of their customer base can, and only an elite small percentage can afford to run AS ADVERTISED.
3) Deterring new players/subscriptions.
Why any new player would choose to play EVE INCARNA now, over an ever increasing-multitude of high(er) quality games with REALISTIC hardware requirements is beyond me. EVE already has a notoriously tough learning curve and INCARNA adds a frankly unplayable, glitchy, unprofessional and MANDATORY experience. I would have never gotten into EVE if this was my first experience. Bad call.
4) Ignoring requested features/fixes/balances (continuously)
Nothing new here and we all know the drill. You're damn right you'll be, as one of your brass said, "burned at the stake" for this. Ignoring things that make the game better and barging ahead with your CLEARLY outlined profit-driven agenda is a sure fire way to **** off customers and lose MAJOR face in the industry. In my mind and many others, INCARNA counts as a major strike in your reputation.
5) Does not add substance to the gameplay.
I know this is only the first step, but this expansion adds nothing but superficiality, a fact that is WELL DEMONSTRATED and mirrored by the 60$ monacle Aurum cluster-F. Frankly, its a lot of hot air, and adds no substantial gameplay. Pair that with the above #4 statement and everyone can see that CCP has completely lost touch with reality and its customer base. The majority of players don't really want monacles, they want new mechanics, challenges, ships and balancing. Go ahead take a poll, oh wait, you did, and you completely ignored the results. Bad Business.
I could go on, but heres a summary of CCPs unprofessionalism. 1) Low quality/non functional product 2) Alienating/losing current customers 3) Deterring new customers 4) Losing respect/reputation within the industry and with customers. 5) Adding no substantial gameplay
Now I have no doubt that the bugs will in time get sorted out... I'm sorry CCP but your QA department is a joke. Beyond that I'm also willing to accept that this is the "first step" and only the "beginning of things to come". Looking at the direction this "first step" is taking is what is the most concerning.
I am not impressed.

I think it's being generous to call it an expansion when 95% of the "content" added zero to actual gameplay and can be disabled with a single checkmark in the menu - again with no impact on gameplay if you disable it.

I started losing faith in CCP after the Tyrannis expansion. What was hyped vs. what we got. Well, it's just gone down hill from there. Really starting to look for somthing else to invest my money in.

Yep, that was the 2nd thing I did after I initially closed the game. Let me rephrase: Incarna is the greatest expansion of all time.

apart from the microtransactions, and that somehow CQ makes this avatar look hideously fat and lardy when compared to the portrait capture screen, i dont mind incarna. I wouldnt exactly call it an expansion. if you want an expansion go look at aion 2.5, thats a proper expansion.
This is a minor content patch.

WELL SAID! Wholly agree, especially with the concept of making the game MORE system intense and trying to lure NEW players to play this ****box, graphically intense, piece of **** that has become Eve Online, the Real Money Transfer, Item shop of horrors, bull**** gimmick game of the century. ------------------------------------------------ This http://www.xtranormal.com/watch/12238558/a-fictionalized-account-of-the-events-that-led-to-june-21st |

I tried your door, but it didn't work. On closer inspection it was a series of brackets which were, in fact stopping me.

Crazy cause people like you are just saying : "Stop crying, stop it stop that, CCP are fabulous ect..." But what else ? Stop saying the truth lol ?
Just have a look on what Incarna really does for the game. Have a look. And if you're inteligent (What I don't doubt), you'll see that Incarna is like a civilian miner on a Vagabond, nonsense.

Eve-online - Free to start playing (trial account) - Free to continue playing (buy game-time with isk) - Free items from the real money store (buy from market with isk) - Free expansions (twice a year) - Free fun.
I don't know about you, but I like free things, especially if they're fun. |

500-600$ is more than enough to run Eve with decent graphics.
My 1700$ computer will just need an extra 5850(which are at around 164$) and I'm pretty sure it will run Battlefield 3 at max settings.

FPSs exist since castle wolfstein.
Never have I seen such a horrible CQ interface. CCP programmers haven't played Quake? Or Doom?
If people complain (I don't) that space interface is badly designed, what will they say about the CQ?
