Edited by: Predator Nyx on 23/06/2011 15:44:10 To all the bitter vets / crybabies who would be content playing EVE exactly as it was at Apocrypha for the rest of their lives:
No one likes you. No one will miss you when you are gone.
You don't like CCP growing the game and it's audience, thus bringing in more noob targets for you? Too bad.
You don't like the OPTIONAL cash shop? Tough.
You wanna do something productive instead of ***** about it like a 13 year old girl? Cancel your sub.
If you really feel like your opinions reflect the majority of the EVE population, then this will grab CCP's attention....
I love Incarna and the direction EVE is going in and welcome the new players it will bring with open arms and turrets and gatecamps at the ready!
So sorry you won't be here to be a part of that ;)

CCP is certainly free to crap in their sandbox, but they are foolish if they also expect us to be eager to play in there after they do.
The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the ho's and politicians will look up and shout 'Save us!' and I'll look down, and whisper 'no.' |

Thank you OP I agree with you totally!
I am sick of hearing all these people complaining and crying about something that doesnt impact on the core gameplay at all! They are, as you said, wanting Eve to never change and stay stuck in the past and act all elitist over their clunky old game.
I am glad CCP are moving forward in this way and hopefully it will weed out all these cry babies and bring in some new blood.

No one likes you. No one will miss you when you are gone. debatable but its not just "bitter vets" not to mention said older players is the only reason eve survives
You don't like CCP growing the game and it's audience, thus bringing in more noob targets for you? Too bad. regression =/= growth You don't like the OPTIONAL cash shop? Tough. making eve online a laughing stock with over 10 websites writing a negative article will mean less new players You wanna do something productive instead of ***** about it like a 13 year old girl? Cancel your sub. i would rather see CCP man up and admit they ****ed up If you really feel like your opinions reflect the majority of the EVE population, then this will grab CCP's attention.... well the majority i have spoken to think CQ and the cash shop are both ridiculous, opinions are basically, CQ optional with old hanger view, and aurum prices cut by at least 50%
I love Incarna and the direction EVE is going in and welcome the new players it will bring with open arms and turrets and gatecamps at the ready! u really expect a cash shop, and a horribly looking walking in closet to bring in people? I had friends try eve, like it kinda and say " lemme know when i can walk around a bit, even a little" they ran eve just fine, but they will defiantly not be able to run incarna since its such a system hog.
So sorry you won't be here to be a part of that ;) I'm not, because the best thing to do when things go south is quit and hope they learn.

My thoughts exactly! Even if they prefer to never use station environments, can they at least not see all the entertainment that will ensue once we have more new players? I can't wait to personally teach them the basics of PVP in a little series I will be calling "Low sec and you: Why you shouldn't be on autopilot." Lol XD

i will give u that the tv is kinda cool, but the rest of CQ is cumbersum to the point of.... **** it.
you support CCP, which means your dev alt/moron. CQ should be optional it adds no gameplay value i know a huge chunk of computers cannot play incarna decently, in like 2 years maybe they can, but until then it needs to be optional..

I have 4 friends who are now interested in the game.
So lets see, add 4x$15 subtract freeloading vets who buy plex with the isk and don't actually pay their way.
Seems all win to me.

I don't think the general consensus concerns Incarna. Sure, Incarna is part of it, but it's not about a pretty room you can walk about.

Any game that allows players to swipe a credit card and gain an advantage is no longer a game worth playing. It's no longer a matter of skill, teamwork, or logistics but a game of "who has spent more money". CCP will be indifferent as they'll have made a profit and have no stake in the outcome of in-game affairs.
People say you don't have to spend real money on PLEX since it can be bought with ISK. They're neglecting the fact that PLEX are only created through real-money purchases; someone has to swipe their credit card for there to be PLEX to purchase. Even if everyone in EVE was a billionaire, there would be no PLEX for players to own t-shirts or monocles unless someone swipes their credit card. We're pigeon-holed as a player-base into HAVING to give CCP money if the items are to exist in-game whatsoever. For those who are billionaires using ISK to pay for their 5 accounts, if everyone's buying up PLEX to get t-shirts and monocles it will create a shortage. This will either inflate the in-game price of PLEX or force you to swipe your credit card to pay for your account. Either way the only winner is CCP.
If we continue on the current route and ships, faction items, etc become purchasable through micro-transactions, it will throw off the balance of the entire universe. It takes time to gather ISK to purchase those PLEX. Meanwhile, if your opponent has enough balance on his credit card he'll have a new ship in 5 minutes. Imagine your alliance is at war with another alliance which is headed by some trust fund baby whose daddy owns a multi-billion dollar enterprise. Your corporation spends a few weeks gathering minerals and ISK to produce ships. Strip miners take 3 minute to cycle. Pirates take time to pop. A credit card takes maybe 30 seconds to process to save hours/days of work. Whoever has the most disposable income wins.
Micro-transactions costing $1-5 to gain cosmetic or novelty items are fine. $70 monocles and credit-card-swiped faction battleships are a sign of CCP's intentions. You no longer their valued subscriber whom they want to provide a fantastic science fiction experience to. You're a cow who they want milk for profit while they stroke your hand and tell you the Noble Store is optional. If you're one of those who flame the naysayers and don't have the foresight to find this unacceptable: you are one of the cows.

A little anger towards veterans? I'm actually surprised at this, but I can also understand why because some of us are raging about what many consider to be trivial. However I am with the veterans on this one. The MT system is not only overpriced, but the future plans for it are frightening to say the least. And here is why, in the "Greed is Good" brochure there were a couple of sentences that talked about using the MT store for things such as ships, modules, ammo, and even faction standings.
Now take away Faction Standings and you are left with: Ships, Modules, and Ammo. If you think about it now we use a MT system called PLEX, so in reality it shouldnt be a huge problem right? This is where the story changes. AUR takes the PLEX and turns it into AUR and turns it into an item. Once again where is the problem? Here is where your problems starts at. It affects the normal industrial cycle where industrialist make the Ships, Modules and Ammo, and just have that bypassed completely with the NeX store and in turn destroys the player run economy due to said bypass. The second problem is advantage, since the brochure didnt deny the possibility of releasing said Ships, Ammo, and Modules so what is stopping CCP from releasing a Raven that gets a 100% bonus per level to Shield Boost? Nothing. And with that it changes the way the game is played and in the end comes down to the player who can shell out the most money in real life is the ultimate winner. I for one do not want to see any of that at all.
For those who said tl;dr here is the run down for you. NeX has the potential to create a game where someone who wants to shell out more money can have a superior advantage over someone who doesnt shell out money, and that it can also destroy the very essence of our player run economy.
