I've bought over 140 GTC's to trade for ISK in the last 2 1/2 years ($4900.00). CCP loves me...

So, you think they are actually playing for free?
What is the logic there exactly again? Where does ccp lose money? I would be really interested in your obviously highly intelligent insight on the matter.

Wow. I did lol though.
I digress. Just for clarity, how is name calling any less infantile than being a "crybaby" over a change that is so backwards it isn't even funny?
Let me lay it out for you...once upon a time, the MMO Eve Online was intelligent and unique. It had what no one else had, space combat and such an open way of doing things that it stood tall amongst its competitors, even with a fairly small playerbase. Want to attack some random dude? Go for it! He doesn't need to be flagged for you to do so. You can build your own ships, ammo, modules, you can take them from others. You can grind, ransom, pew, and jeez, the list went on and on and on. The first year and a half I played, God, what an age of wonder. I had wished that I had subbed sooner. Eve was THE game for the elite and intelligent player who wanted more than running through a forest and hacking up (insert random monster here).
Now here we are today. Less emphasis on space combat from the devs, more walking around. Nerf anything good, and leave the broken things broken. People call Incarna progress, I call it misdirection. It's the same as a shoplifter waving his hand puppet around while pocketing snickers bars and dirty magazines. As far as Eve is concerned, it is not progress at all, but rather sidestepping a broken vase. You know its there, but you refuse to sweep it up.
I can give you two or three things that could be called progress in what was once the unique game called Eve.
1 - Jovian Space. 2 - Reopen the New Eden Gate. 3 - Imperial expansions.
Three in five minutes, and they keep the heart and soul of the game pure, while adding new content and things to do. This CQ and ambulation is ultimately all smoke and mirrors. How long before you are playing a bastardized version of CoD and WoW? Find 12 Caldari business memos and return to your agent. Think it won't happen? Ha. How about some pseudo-FPS in a station? It's on the way. We might as well just call Eve for what it is, World of Evecraft, or maybe Call of Eve, or maybe we'll just amalgamate it and call it Call of Evecraft. Don't think it's coming? Give it a year or two, it's coming down the pipe. This is what theorists call a logical progression of events.
The microtransaction thing also has the potential for some very bad mojo down the road, but MTs are just the way things go now in MMOs. It's a trend, and thus the natural progression as well. But if I am crying, it's not because I'm throwing a temper tantrum, it's because the game I once loved with so much of my heart and soul is finally being taken down a road that I can't really follow. I can play WoW if I want, there's my ambulation and all that. Want to shoot something? I have Black Ops and SOCOM 4. Eve was a game that many games tried to imitate in an effort to get money and subs. Now Eve is the one imitating, trying to be something it's not.
What was once intelligent, unique, and honestly rather elite has now become just another MMO in a long line of MMOs that no longer truly matter. Yeah, it'll be around for awhile yet. But it's essence and soul will be diluted and tainted. This is why I will probably quit. Not because its hard, or because I don't get it, but because it's not what it once was. It's not truly Eve, the premier space simulation, open sandbox game. Now it's about dressing up like the monopoly guy and putting your wallet to the test. It's a bad punchline now.

Yes, you've nailed it totally. Everyone on here is complaining because they want Eve to be exactly the same as Apocrypha. Yes, that's it. You utter fool.

Yeah, it's sad. I've been calling the game World of Evecraft for a while now. How long before we can buy special pets for our characters to walk around with. Perhaps a Murloc...

First they would have to optimize the code on the graphics engine not to be so buggy with one avatar walking...
If it's pegging out cpus and graphics cards now imagine what will happen when it's got to render more than one avatar in stations. Much less a complex pet.

No one likes you. No one will miss you when you are gone.
You don't like CCP growing the game and it's audience, thus bringing in more noob targets for you? Too bad.
You don't like the OPTIONAL cash shop? Tough.
You wanna do something productive instead of ***** about it like a 13 year old girl? Cancel your sub.
If you really feel like your opinions reflect the majority of the EVE population, then this will grab CCP's attention....
I love Incarna and the direction EVE is going in and welcome the new players it will bring with open arms and turrets and gatecamps at the ready!
So sorry you won't be here to be a part of that ;)
Would be interesting if we could find someone that's not an alt or complete scrub who shared your perspective...troll on.

You're kinda missing the point. The vet's don't want the game to stay the same they want dev time invested in changing it - the last 2 major updates have given us no new features really. Incursions are mostly a PvE expereince using existing mechanics (although you could say it at least introduced a new ship) and incarna just made it dificult to access the active ship's cargo or see what I'm undocking in (I turned the quaters of after a 5 min walk around). I don't PvP zoomed in on my ship so havn't noticed the turret effects at all.
Eve is a spaceship game, most of the recent updates have not involved much spaceship or game mechanic development. The realistic new characters just make the ships look clunky and are more about DUST development than EvE as it's a people moving about game.
Personally I'm waiting for the Sims online to release some internet spaceship pew pew then I'll be off ;-)

I am glad CCP are moving forward in this way and hopefully it will weed out all these cry babies and bring in some new blood.
Heres to Incarna!!
My thoughts exactly! Even if they prefer to never use station environments, can they at least not see all the entertainment that will ensue once we have more new players? I can't wait to personally teach them the basics of PVP in a little series I will be calling "Low sec and you: Why you shouldn't be on autopilot." Lol XD
I can't wait until we have so many new members that we will literally hot drop every low sec gate camp in existence. Please tell me you are eager for this too?

Given that "subscription 2.0" where you could buy stuff in eve was an april fools joke in 2008
And 2011's april fools was "mounts and pets" I'd say 2013.

It's pretty funny.
Look at all the people whining on the forums.
Then look at all the people playing Eve Online currently.
Numbers speak for themselves imho. People can complain all they want, but the forums have never represented the majority in the past, and the forums certainly don't now. _______________________________________________ "If you want to taste the ground, feel free to attack." - Kenshin Himura

I don't get the vanity shop hate. You don't have to buy anything from it. The stuff you can buy from vanity shop doesn't give you any kind of advantage. So what is the problem? If you don't like it, don't buy anything.
And I think the prices are right and could actually be even higher. Even a monocle doesn't cost that much ISK. It's pocket money for many players. Getting a monocle is a geat way to brag about your ingame wealth if you want to do that and fits the atmosphere of EVE perfectly. It's not a status symbol if it's cheap. If you have to ask or whine about the price, you can't afford it. You are not part of the elite. That is the message vanity items should give.
Buying vanity items for real world cash is of course something completly different. |

This really. And yeah, I am a resubed old timer.
I love how CCP throwing around ideas in an INTERNAL message suddenly became offcial thier locked in agenda.

You must have missed the bit where CCP said they want to sell advantages and shortcuts via the NEX shop. Like special ammo, ships, mods, POS, faction standings, BPs etc etc. ----
