No you took it from wrong direction.
Nobody is shocked neither disappointed about it. The Big problem is "if the NEX shop offers something to **** up heart of the EVE" There will be no money making for CCP anymore.
As i wrote before the "leaked" document is not fake. As been stated by CCP. But amount of rage created by it is beyond believe.
I mean have you ever been at some brainstorming session? Its getting quite dense. And this is just forum version of it with many un-educated, semi-educated and few well-educated people.
Take it as it is. Nothing more nothing less. Not end of the world, nor the new beginning.

Post Part 2
Then if you dive into the Turrets. While Amarr and Gallente are fitting Focused Pulse and Electrons/Nuetrons, Minmatar is fitting 425's. Many of the solutions to fitting problems has become fit Minmatar. Autocannon Punishers/Vengence/Maller/Prophecy/Ferox/Myrmidon and Arty Abbadons/Rohks being the most obvious. This combined with choosing a Race that has the highest Speed and Agility while holding near to as much of a tank as the others is the serious issue. There are effectively to types of Combat types in EVE which are Kiting off of Scram and Web Range and running away when you can't win which Minmatar do best and hitting from 50-90km while having a tank with long range tackle ships and T2 Logi which Abby's Meals, Drakes, Zealots do best. Everything else falls to this strategy, ships that are Niche like DPS Brutix, Triple Repydon, Blaster Ferox, Non Meal/Abby Battleships fail when met with a real setup.
Now don't think I am shoving this in box and saying thats it thats all situation described. There are Cov Op's Wars, Frig Gangs, Station Camping certain EWAR to counter strategies. But for the most part are talents are limited to a very small section of the ships in game. There are the effective for most things ships and the ones that just don't measure up under extreme conditions.
I will bet you I am not the only who thought YAY Rocket Fix. I will bet I am not the only one that checks every Dev Blog for Balance Changes and scrambled through the Incarna Patch Notes for various balance fixes. A lot of us are waiting on these changes because Combat is the Core of the gameplay and we want to utilize every ship for a purpose. We want mixed fleets that don't just bring 1 type of DPS Ship or 90% that type and the other 10% are the 5 other types that people say why the hell did you bring that instead of the good one.
I am posting this because this is the underlying issue, the big one. The one everyone wants addressed when they say in Space Features. It is the one we want you all to be working on and it is the one we need the most. I am sure everyone would rather go back to the Old Ship Graphics if they could all be flown effectively and back to the Old Turret Model if they could all be use. Everytime we see new changes to the game that don't have Balance Changes it is like removing a Block from the bottom of a Jenga Tower and putting it on top.
Please CCP, this is your Core Game Play Issue.

1) Keep good your promise and dont allow people to buy their way to the top just because their wallet is bigger. 2) Explain the ludicrous pricing structure of the Noble Exchange. 3) Start releasing expansions finished instead of only 1/4 of the content. 4) Fix the older content like you promised. 5) Actually put something in the Noble Exchange worth buying for 'micro' amounts of money.

Pann has not answered A SINGLE THING AND NEITHER HAVE YOU!
At this point it dose not matter what you guys say, you have to PROVE IT! You can start by either removing MT's or making a big giant sticky that stays on the front page forever stating MT's will not go beyond vanity items. I no longer trust the little MMO company that made great things, at this point you are just another greedy corporation looking for a quick buck.
that dose not mean I have unsubbed yet but the second something in the NEX give an in game advantage and ceases to become useless fluff you will lose my 3 accounts and a lot of other peoples as well.
Make the right decision CCP the game as we all know it hangs in the balance, and so do a lot of your dev's salaries.

Basically, its clear from the words used and not used that they're not trying to make a bundle like a Steven Spielberg.. creating the best entertainment they can and pulling them in.
They're more like a local movie theatre trying to get all the kids to come to their theatre because the other kids are there and just getting decent enough films to meet the miniumum . Once they'r there he'll shake them down for all they got in their pockets for pocorn and soda adn "special" candy to look cool that they need to buy their girlfriends not to look like they're skimping.
Ok.. that is NOT FAIR to the many many creative pepole who love the game working there. But there is a real connection problem at the top ... we don't have a Steven Speilberg type running the studio.. its a Gordon Gecko

1) MT must be removed for me to return as a player. You can say 1000 times that it will only be vanity items but I will never believe this will hold true in the future.
BTW to all the other players out there, you need to put your money where your mouth is and unsub if you are really this angry. This is your only true power. Do it now if you plan on having CCP hear your voice.

Here's my thing. If people are thrilled with Incarna/CQ as it is now - I'm thrilled for them. But I'm getting pretty damned tired of people trying to convince me that it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. Because it's not that impressive as of now. And while I've never cared about WiS (I've known of SL longer than I've known of EVE), and thus am inclined to be "meh" about it anyway, I credit that CCP wants to do something new. However, SL exists, and has as long as EVE. It's like no one around here (including CCP) is aware of its existence. You all think CQ is cool? Head to SL - your head will explode.

ok here is my 2 cents for what its worth
back in 09 fanfest when WiS was first demo'd you docked in station and where greeted by the familliar ship spinner then there was an option to leave pod and walk around. the first step it would seem would be to implement this in the next patch
secondly if you want us to buy vanity items MAKE MORE ITEMS
third currently with conversion and jita price it costs 360mill/ú14 to buy a t-shirt making it roughly 100,00isk/arum fix the price asap because when you can buy a monacle for the same price as a fitted carrier you dun goofed
now that is out of the way here is a newsflash for the people un-subbing because of the newsletter: its pointless and you srsly need to grow up as it stands ccp is a company and as such want to make money witch is understandable. but raging when some of them voice their opinion on the matter is just silly.
however when arum was announced it was said with explicit emphasis 'none of the items will alter anything in game other than apperence' this is the only reason it was aggreed with so far as the NeX is concerned so long as it dosnt interfeer with game mechanics imo its fine.
also while +9 implants and buying faction standing sounds awesom and is far easyer than waiting or doing the hard work its a sure fire way to break the game almost irreprably

CCP can we please get a roadmap for the rest of the Incarna iterations? I think part of the problem is that nobody knows where we are heading anymore, sure we have some lofty ideals (ultimate space sim) and groovy aspirations (a future vision video). But what are we actually getting in this release?
I think Incarna is exactly what EVE needs, and since I can post on the forums I obviously claim to represent all players in existence, both born and unborn.

Hello there Pann, nice to hear from you again. And first off IÆd like to say thank you for being the first one to step in front of the barricades in attempt to speak to the rioting masses of players.
I do think itÆs vitally important that CCP is prepared to listen, because this scandal over microtransactions is probably the most potentially-damaging scandal CCP have ever faced in a fiasco that easily eclipses T20, "Kieron" and ô18 monthsö without breaking sweat. The credibility of the game is at risk here unless we put the doubt and distrust to bed.
To my perspective here are the main issues:
1. CQ being mandatory in its current poorly-optimized state is a terrible development/business decision. It looks like its been pushed onto the user base purely as a microtransaction vanity display case at the cost of usability and function. This is particularly annoying to those players who already support CCP with multiple accounts and is infuriating given the repeated attempts to bug-report and alter CCPÆs decision in this regard during the SISI beta test.
Put simply, itÆs very disappointing that you have removed a functional and much beloved hanger view and replaced it with a resource-intensive CQ mode that does not work efficiency for multiple clients or for lower-spec computers.
Even providing the option not to load the CQ environment with this ugly wallpaper stripped of previous hanger-view functionality is extremely disrespectful to the Eve player base û IÆd like to hear Eve developers admit this was a mistake and commit to restoring the previous hanger view and adding ôdisembark from capsuleö as an optional trigger to launch CQ as soon as possible.
CQ view should not be mandatory and it is simply poor business decision-making to punish sections of the existing user base in the way you have done with this Incarna release. "Expansions" should never mess with existing game-play mechanics whatever the marketing department tell you they want to see.
2. I personally do not like the Aurum concept. I donÆt like the Noble store. I donÆt like Microtransactions in a pay to play subscription-based game. I donÆt like the way that the Eve player base is being robbed of the ability to manufacture avatar clothing for Incarna, I donÆt like the way the sandbox is being messed with, I donÆt like the pricing or corporate message coming out of CCP on the issue, and worse yet, I think it risks turning Incarna into a pointless vanity store writ large. I hear CCP Manifest telling us that ôAurum is here to stayö and I donÆt like the arrogance implied by that statement. It speaks of dogmatic adherence to a pet policy, it speaks of devotion to a business model that doesnÆt belong in Eve, it represents something that works in Free to Play games but isnÆt at all appropriate in a fairly expensive subscription model where a significant number of your players run multiple accounts in long term loyalty to the game world and company.
I honestly think at this stage ditching the Noble store as a bad idea and putting the vanity clothing goods into bpos on the market for players to build and sell would be your best possible way out of this mess at maximum PR gain and goodwill from the community.
3. I am deeply concerned that we are paying CCP employees with our subscription money to develop game content that is not going to be provided to us in reciprocal exchange and will instead be ôdouble-chargedö through microtransactions. This strikes me as simple greed and fleecing your customer base and while it certainly works for ôGorden Geckoö it is not a sustainable model for Eve Online.
You need to impress upon the CCP management that the players of this game are not stupid û we see a Monocle and we know that our subscription money has paid for its development, trying to sell that thing back to us for $70 while failing to deliver engine trails and improved cyno-effect is a slap in the face by any measure.

Edited by: Deisu Darling on 24/06/2011 03:46:38 This is my take on what is happening.
Quote: As I see it, the chief complaint is regarding the high cost of goods in the Noble Market.
This is not the chief complaint. The prices are ridiculous but who cares. It made me laugh tbh when I saw the price of the "Golden Monacle". Is it really worth more than a Carrier?
Quote: Second, many people are unhappy about the CaptainÆs Quarters.
The captains quarters are pretty naff. Character walking is horrible. The clothing and hair moves beautifully but it moves through the body/ head of your character. The rendering is pretty crappy as well. It looks nothing like the toon we created in the character creator. The shadows are all wrong. It's just not nice.
Quote: Third, there are some performance issues with Incarna
Yes to put it mildly.
When staring at a wall in the Captains quarters, with nothing else in view. my GPU does a lovely Sine wave from 30%-60% activity. There are also some mad spikes when it reaches 100% for no apparent reason.
Many of us, myself included used to be able to run 4 clients quite happily on one card, now I'm having issues running 2.
Now lets get to the Elephant in the room.
The leaked internal document.
This is what has really got people raging.
We play this game because we love it, and because we love CCP. Sure after many years we are like a married couple, there are things that annoy us about Eve and CCP, but we put up with them because you have a special place in our hearts.
To find out that you don't feel the same way has come as quite a shock. It's not that you don't love us anymore, it's the fact that you also think we're idiots. Now I'm presuming this leaked document is genuine, because noone from CCP gas come out and said it's not.
If it is genuine then, you have really made a huge mistake.
Eve is not League of Legends, WoT or LOTRO.
Even suggesting that you might be able to buy items that will give you an advantage in game through MT is just beyond comprehension. Whoever thought this would fly is really so out of touch with the playerbase it makes me ill just thinking that they have any input into the game.
So I look forward to your post.
Bear in mind that none of the things you mentioned as problems are the main issue. Just tell us that the document was fake and nothing in it is true, or tell us that after careful consideration everything in the document relating to Eve has been scrapped and we'll quite happilly go back to shooting people in the face, and ofc renewing our subscription.
If on the other hand it's all true then you will be turning something unique in the gaming world into another pile of steaming ****, and I personally don't like that smell.
Oh and if it is true, nothing less that Soundwave's head on a spike outside CCP HQ will do."

NX prices are obscene guys.. obscene. items should cost a buck or two. come on. 3. walking at a snails pace in station is no fun. give us a run or 'walk briskly' option 4. an old hangar view 'board' 'unboard' something option would be nice
performance issues, meh, i have faith in the fact that you're working on it.. everything else comes out in the wash.. BUT for the record, monthly's plus an MT store are kinda lame.. the only other game that does that is STO and do you treally wanna suck as hard as they do?
take a look at DDO. MT's vs monthly's done right.
beyond that, you should be a bit more careful with your wording in internal memos .. we know we're cash cows, but you should not be establishing a corporate culture where you talk about your customers like that.

I hope you are making it as clear as possible to those in power the unprecedented level of ****storm that will ensue if we get an answer that is any different than "We will never implement non-vanity MTs into EVE Online." No other answer is acceptable.
Get over yourself. What is acceptable will depend on what they have to say.
Bars aren't a vanity item, yet I can see them having an AUR connection. Gambling isn't a vanity item, yet I can "possibly" see an AUR connection (dangerous ground there in some countries).
Just two examples of the many ways that MT could easily move beyond simple "vanity" items without becoming "pay to win".
You see, that's the problem with absolutes and pompous declarations. They don't take into account that the picture may actually be much, much larger than what you in your blind hysteria can see.
Lets see what the situation looks like in the clear light of day, rather than by light of torches and witch burning bonfires.
