Personally, I just want to know why we're being *FORCED* to beta test the WoD graphics engine, err WiS/Ambulation/Incarna/Whatever, when it was originally announced to be an optional feature. Sure we can disable station interiors *for now*, but that's only meant to be a temporary fix, right?

I love the direction CCP has started out on with the Noble Exchange, let's suck the fat ISK-whoring bastards dry!
"Macro" is in reference to price - which most certainly is ****ing stupid. IDGAF about the monacles and vanity barbie doll **** outside of the fact it'll keep people docked playing space barbie instead of fighting me in space.

I'll disagree with you about EVE Online being only a spaceships game. I want a complete sci fi experience. I want to land on the planet and walk around, fly in space and blow stuff up, discuss alliance treaties "in person" through the characters in the game rather than being yet another neckbeard on ventrilo. I'm here for some role play, not just Internet Spaceships.
Frankly, until CCP can add some very non trivial content (read: PVP) station side, Eve IS about space ships. In the future, that can change... but right now they're ****ing over space ships with CQ for no apparent reason.

60 pages and you guys still don't get it.
We aren't complaining about how you have communicated the changes to us, we are complaining about the changes themselves. Incarna is a waste of time that you guys should be ashamed of creating. It offers nothing to the player base, and gives us a scary reminder of where CCP's ego is taking this game. The future of EVE is bleak, unless you guys get your fingers out and do something. Forget Incarna and Dust. No one cares about them. You need to put your focus on the core of EVE and try to fix the game.
Ignore the player base at your peril, they are more important than you to this game.

First let me start by saying that the pre Incarna Eve was a great game. And I would venture to say that the vast majority of people responding to this post would agree. People are not THIS vocal about a game that they don't care about.
All that being said, the core issues here really boil down to those of trust and respect. Trust, once breached or broken, is very difficult to regain. Respect must be earned over time - both through words and actions.
Until the last couple of days, CCP had the trust of its players. It had crafted a unique experience in the world of gaming - exemplified by its motto of HTFU. It was a game designed for and played by players who wanted to challenge themselves in the best of ways.
There was also the impression that CCP respected its players - by creating this unique game and by asking us to be part of it and part of the ongoing cycle of developing it.
Both trust and respect have been lost in the last couple of days. The trust the players had in CCP and the sense that CCP respected them.
Internal document, working brief or diary, the Newsletter showed a blatant disregard for the trust and respect on which the Developers and players have relied on. On these forums and in posts CCP promised us that MT would not be used for anything other than vanity items. That Newsletter explicitly says otherwise. Thus is trust breached.
Even more concerning is the lack of respect for players as implied by that Newsletter. The Eve MT article speaks of hooking players on wares like addicts. The article goes so far as to compare the experience of MT to buying other forms of social interaction (eg. buying prostitutes).
Ultimately as Eve players we believed that we were partners with CCP in creating a new universe and experience in the sandbox of New Eden. Today we learned that we are simply commodities to be exploited.
CCP is a business and perhaps this exploitation should not be surprising, but CCP earned a special trust and respect by making its players feel like partners. To find out that was categorically untrue is disheartening at best.
It is unlikely that any response from CCP will satisfy everyone, but whatever response they make must begin to rebuild trust. The best and surest way for CCP to show it's respect is to read and listen to the comments here and understand how horrendously they have erred in their assessment of us.
In an ideal world, CCP would remove MT from the game - for good. That would go a long way to restoring trust and respect. More likely, a simple declaration that only Vanity (eg. non game enhancing) items will be sold would go a little way to rebuilding trust. An real apology and an acknowledgment of how badly CCP treated its player base on this issue would start it back on the road to respect.
HTFU CCP - The player base that has trusted you for years deserves your respect.

Is CCP in financial trouble?

Main issue with microtransactions for me is that you've taken away features of the game such as storing x many ship fitouts and then you want to give it back but as a microtransaction? Poor show!
Also breaking drone damage is a bit of a showstopper, but I believe devs are working at it.
CQ also needs optimisation, for many it is pushing heat up gpu and cpu... I dont have a measurement yet, but top left corner of imac 27" (running windows 7) runs hotter than the rest of the box. (compensating by manually setting fans faster with macfan64)

Hey Pann
Long time to see, I still have the old EVE Radio songs that sing about you..
Yes I'm that old a player, and I may decide not to be due to the newsletter rubbish.
If there is ANY vanity items that are not vanity items then you will see me leave, not that you care about that it seems as its the number of monocles sold thats more important.
Personally I didn't give a **** about the prices of the monocles, because I was never ever going to buy it, I don't play barbie dolls. I didn't buy sparkley horses in wow so why the **** am I going to buy a monocle in space for $80?
Anyhow, get rid of the marketing guy as he knows bugger all. And soundwave needs a serious kick up the arse.
On a side note, the new new forums are far better than the old. Take comfort in knowing that its probably some pimply faced twit, or 40 year old virgin, who gleens everytime mommy offfers to take them to needle point lessons |

Direct slap in the face.
For a long time we suspected that you've gotten way out of touch with us. But, we trusted you.
And then, we get slapped in the face.
Through a leaked document, we really get to see what you think we are. (Or, a subset of you, let's not generalize too much here).
You told us that 'microtransactions are not coming' but they arrived...you told us 'no in-game items' but hey, we saw them on SiSi. You were lying to us bold-faced. But we figured, 'It is a bug, problem, sure it sounds weird that they can't take a ship in exchange for the thing you are paying for..but okay...we can deal.'
But we read the glossy mag...and knew there was something fundamentally wrong. Not only are we being lied to... but we are also being taken advantage of, treated like sheep and cows.
The player base. Is *very* smart. We had to be to make it past the brick wall you call a learning curve. We're passionate, we love this game. Because we can do things here that we cannot do anywhere.
You guys may not know me. I roleplay in the game. I punish the stupid. NO OTHER GAME OUT THERE WOULD EVEN CONSIDER WHAT I DO GAMEPLAY. But it is perfectly all right in EvE. Not only that, I broadcast the stories. I blog about it. I run it through the forums. I create *content*. The next level. What people get to once they have done missions over and over and over again.
And we read the pamphlet...know it is real...and see you contemplating content that *Breaks The Game*. Thoughts that should have been dismissed out of hand as game breaking. Let's sell ammo and ships and etc..etc...
And we grab the pitchforks...Demanding that you turn the bus around *RIGHT NOW*. Because you are going to break it. And once it is broken, you can't put that back together again.
You have not broken the game yet...the sandbox is pretty well intact.
You *will* break it if you don't watch yourselves.
You have broken our trust...we cannot...*CANNOT* trust you. We've been abused too often in this relationship. I can't trust a single word out of your collective mouths. It has gotten that bad.
I love this game...But I unsubbed the one character I own. Just to let you know that indeed. I am serious...this is not a threat. I am leaving should I not get satisfaction.
And I assume that enough folks have done the same that you realized just how angry we all are. WE ARE FUMING.
So what answer do I want? Just one statement: Set in goddamned stone if you have to 'EvE Online will never sell for real money, performance enhancing items. Including implants, rigs, ships, ammo, rigs or materials (T1, T2 or T3)'
In stone would be nice...planted in the lobby of all CCP's campuses. Just to remind folks that there is a line you do not cross...
Don't screw it up CCP....your move.
QFT. +1. Pretty much this.
This.
CCP, welcome to the best MMOG community. You lie to us, we leave.
