Edited by: Kira Phyrexia on 24/06/2011 11:17:24 Incarna even though it may be lacking content is still a good release. From what i have read most of the man hours in the development of Incarna were put into re-writing the coding for many aspects of the game. The players will not even see these changes. This initial patch of Incarna has sown the seeds of future development and has allowed for the cross platform cross gaming technology to get rolling. This (if they can actually pull it off) will be an amazing feat of game technology and CCP will change the future of gaming.
From talking to my corp mates and my contacts there are few who dislike the new patch, yes it has some issues and the internal memo was appalling along with the way the people who have had problems have been mistreated. However the majority I have spoken too are really enjoying it. These people have no problems with the Incarna patch and have no wish to look at the forums or even post, hence we get the pitch fork madness on the forums that has occurred.
There is one issue however that will change my mind on the next patch if CCP do release ships, items, modules etc on to the MT. The clothing I have no problem with, its just clothing they do not give an advantage. If people with that much expendable income wish to buy one, then go for it, its your money. I don't get jealous of people in real life driving around in fancy cars because they earned them and neither should anyone else. The problem lies in that CCP plan to add in game items into this MT stuff. I strongly agree that this is a BAD idea and should not be implemented.
Overall I have no problem with the release as is and am quite happy with it. Looking forward to the content that will come out in the next few months because of this patch as long as CCP listen to its clients, and support those in need. (seriously I had much more faith in your customer support even though at this time I personally don't need it but others do.)

The simple fact that CCP posted an apology would disgree with the OP as well. I can't imagine them doing so unless a combination of discontent and cancelled subscriptions were in larger enough number to cause worry.
And I love Incarna.... I DONT love the way it's implemented or how they rolled it out in this half finished state. I also don't mind the AU store if it really is for vanity items, and the prices aren't as outrageous as they are.
Though from that leaked CCP newsletter, it looks like they are considering going back on their "vanity only" rmt policy.

Pfft... It's obvious that the op has a finger on the pulse of the "majority."
I mean, what's 300+ related pages of discontent? Obviously it's only about 4 of us and our alts doing the posting right?

How can you even suggest such a thing.
Everybody knows the vocal minority of gormless twits posting here represents the eve community.

Thankyou, Only one person I know of who I talk to in game has raged like this, a few have said they don't like this or that, some have gone "Meh", most quite like it.

The majority is quite unhappy actually.
Incarna has no content whatsoever.
Most of the development was put into re-writing the code ? Give me a break, please. You should learn to recognize a bs when you see one.
In my corp, everyone is hating Incarna. Does that mean anything ? Probably not, but you should realize that community outrage is legitimate whether it's justified or not. Even the gaming press is making jokes on CCP.

Yeah, I expected a light patch... I understand there was a lot of behind the scenes work and thus there were going to be more bugs than usual. The turrets were probably more work than they were worth but thats just me... should make the Machinima ppl happy tho.

Thats why we are all angry.
Hope this helps understand why.

maybe we all hang in different groups, however I logged in, I am in 4 chat chans and corp, i ask in all, so guys how you finding your station, 2 of the chans did not reply, 1 in corp said rubbish, and 1 in chan said "best bit is turning it off"
over the evening a few others were either not bothered about it at all, and one said, yeah its cool but boring fast.
although this is a mixed response the last time i logged in after patch day all the chans were full of people, good bad or indifferent all trying the patch, this time the server showed 20k less people than i expected, and all the chans were dead.
I would say people going mental over being all bad about it is not bad, the bad thing is so many people logged in, disliked and just did not bother again.. that is a damning statment.

The forums contain the comments of what 5% of Eve's Population? Highly motivated and certainly some movers and shakers give it more weight with CCP deciding things then maybe it should. But it is not the game, nor is it remotely a majority of anything. ***By coffee alone I set my mind in motion, by the beans of Java thoughts acquire speed, the hands acquire shaking, the shaking becomes a warning, by coffee alone I set my mind in motion.*** |

Edited by: Town Bike on 24/06/2011 11:38:26 You must be a complete simpleton to consider this a good expansion. CCP have been working on this for 5 years and now number around 600 employees. It's basically a showroom for your character to make you buy pointless and stupidly expensive stuff, while radically reducing Eve's performance. You're nuts.

I have been asking many who do not post. Where lots have not gone to the dramatic i quit. Several have not renewed sub's on alt's like myself. We will see how it goes but for the mean time i am running 1account and just doing some RVB. But more prominent is the fact most people I ask have simply turned off the CQ..
I think the silent majority expected incarna to be a button in the hanger view. I also think the silent majority have turned off CQ and simply have no interest in arum items atm. But are watching to see if CCP break the game with ships/mods that have a in game advantage. OR see how over the top prices for ship skins will be.
I think in truth the Forums represent the few voicing what would be the majority opinion if CCP carry on getting this wrong and do not fix what has been done.

As of now, the mega thread has over 2700 replies and roughly 220k reads. There's your majority.
A whole lot of us have worked in corporate settings and if we were part of this Incarna debacle a whole lot of heads would roll as a result.
This is the culmination of a lot of very poor decision making, and as a company that relies on a loyal customer base for income, the worst crisis CCP has ever experienced.
I am not sure CCP is being run by the right people at this time. The company has lost its edge and throwing up whatever dung it has in process and calling it an expansion. I am very disappointed.

OP: When they put ammo and weapons that are better than anything you can make or buy in game available on the noble market only for real life money - You will understand why this fight is so important.
People who are shrugging this off are just being ignorant. Sheep even.
"It won't affect me" Bull cr*p it won't affect you. This game lives off of combat and mostly pvp combat. When you get in a fight with someone with +10 implants to his agility so you won't even hit the guy - you'll understand why today we fight.
Take your head out of the sand - cause your *ss is showing.
