Basically psychology warfare to try to instill wants into the masses. Gamers are very conducive to this with the mmo game play style that already hinges on intermittent reinforcement schedules.
CCP is clearly looking after business models where monetizing is at the forefront and streamlining the game play after different modes of MT and designing excuses for players to buy pixels, e-peen and stats.
This of course will take focus and resources of the product itself, as well as create a lot of different side effects.
What a worthless conceited post.
Your lack of argument tell me that you are a troll, with nothing to say but; derp herp.

Originally by: Torothin I figured as much. While I think SOV warfare sucks as do a lot of thigns in game. This is still a great game and one of my favorite past times. WH life in my opinion is just truly incredible and unpredictable. Overall though, CCP has done a great job with this game. Unless I'm wrong. I read the leaks. What's the big deal?
In a year or so kid with fatter mommies wallet than yours will come and own coz he will "pay to win" and not "play to win"...
Yes a bit like with PLEX, only this time you buy directly from CCP and not from other players. However CCP still has to do SP for AUR otherwise we can't buy a Titan pilot like we can do with PLEX to ISK and buy them from the bazaar like people already do for years ... that won't do at all!
You can buy PLEX direct from CCP as well... Go to the accounts section and select the amount of plex you want to purchase, and pay with your credit card. The PLEX then spawns in your home station.
A lot of people seem to be unaware of this.
IE: Why even bother implementing AU?

Originally by: 5DriedGrams Since you live in a wormhole I assume that you do a fair amount of sleeper salvage and at least some production. At least some CCP devs seem to have no problem with selling whatever they can through the Nub Store. So imagine you spend all this time producing your goods only to find CCP selling something even better. Then these people who didn't even participate in the EVE market come into your wormhole with their overpowered ships and blast you to hell because you didn't want to spend real money to upgrade your ship.
Many find it slightly irritating to say the least.
This.
Imagine that this people bought their t3s directly for $$ (through aurum)... First you wont find market for your melted nanoribbons (which are essential material in t3 ships production) coz players buy finished t3s for $$...and thus youll earn far less... And secondly youll will not be able to compete with those players coz they have more RL money than you...and that isk you earned in hardship in game will be irrelevant as opposed to those players with fat wallets.

Already possible (see post above yours).
But if ISK is rendered obsolete by MT in favour of $$$/AUR ... The game will become "pay to win"...and you will not be able to compete inside the game with those richer in RL... ...and games serve a purpose to have fun and "escape" from RL for a hour or two right ?
The market is Eve. I find it hard to believe they would replace or undermine the ISK market - that's equivalent to just removing ISK directly from player wallets and would spell the end of the game. Do you really think CCP want to kill their own game.
It looks like they don't care as long as it lasts long enough to fund WOD and maybe Dust.
lol logic ? Dust can't happen without EVE. killing a mmorpg that works for another mmorpg that targets a complete different audience and will likly fail. you really think CCP is going to allow Ships for RL money?
Really are people that dump nowadays?

Thing is, people already buy non-cosmetic items for real life money.
Folks buy PLEX, turn it into ISK, and use that ISK to buy things. Quote:
The thing is, many of us screamed about Plex breaking the spirit of the game, and cried about the slippery slope it created.
Now, when I look at how Plex and character purchases negatively impact the game, it makes me sad.
No longer do you need to work with friends to get ahead. You can buy an army of alts to do anything you like, and fit them out merely by opening your wallet. Players with specializations in niche professions are no longer required. Anyone that wants one can buy a cyno alt, a falcon alt, a mining alt, a freighter alt, a cov-ops alt or any other specialty you can dream of.
PvP has gone from being a war of attrition using ships with the best bang for the buck, to being a game of who can buy the most super-caps to crush the enemy in a single blow; since failing to do that will only allow the enemy to buy replacement fleets when they crack open their wallets. Today, you loose only when you are unwilling to pour more RL cash into the game.
Now, we learn that CCP not only doesn't see any of this as a problem, but they want to charge headlong into itą CCPs vision of EvE is not the game I played 5 years ago, and it's not the game I want to play.

In other words people are deciding to waste their time complaining about something they can choose to opt out of.
The logic is silly I know. They try to back it up with things like saying "CCP LIED TO US" (despite telling everyone exactly what was coming out) and a whole other bunch of justifications for silly logic.
Have you even read what are people complaining about? Not the stinky vanity items now in place. ItĘs the possibility of having Game advantages using RL money.
Purchase special implants, ships, whatever, that will be ONLY available for those that use RL money. ThatĘs what people are complaining about. If you haven't noticed that you are clueless...
