hmm... this is a tough call, i think they should redo the security zones, highsec should have little pvp, lowsec should have some security, but pvp would happen NPC nullsec should have very very very little security but still some, empty nullsec should be hey ur not blue your dead now :D
i guess i want to see lowsec have the possibility to have solo/small group industrial/mission activities.

I myself would like faction warfare to have more about it.
its a great idea poorly executed, owning systems has no real value
capping plex's has no real rewards.
id like it to be better

I have for a long time wanted a full expansion for Faction Warfare revamped - introducing solo PvP, gang PvP, as well as staged fleet PvP. Basically a permanent set of 'arenas' to spice up the combat.
Naturally the whole system needs a look at as far as how FW is rewarding and penalizing as a career, the rank system had a lot of potential (can you imagine a ladder system ingame as opposed to the KB's online?)
I personally advocated the FW LP store having items only FW pilots could purchase AND use - i.e. you had to be a licensed and trained militant to utilize the gear. It wouldn't be OP like tourney ships, but have slightly improved values, or maybe even just look different allowing RP pilots to really distinguish their ship as a militia ship.
As much as I want FW...it won't be revised anytime soon I'm sure and, truth be told, Nullsec really does need more attention than FW relative to the players affected and the fact SC's are so messed up.

FW for me too. I have a bizarre attachment to the ideals of the Gallente Federation, but as it stands... why bother?

The new ship graphics they said they would work on since the scorpion remodel. During past 1.5 year, we got the Zephyr (just prior to scorpion but there was someone working in the art department), scorpion released (awesome looking), primea, reskined noctis, and Echelon. Somewhere in between and now there was a contest for a minmatar battleship ship they said they would use in game (ETA; infinity), incursion ships? (assuming there was some work on ships because they created the SC for it), new character art, and 5 months worth of sub for Monocles, a useless 3D interface in CQ that shortcut commands work just as well (seriously, roll out walking in stations all at once or stop hyping half ass work as a completed expansion) and stupid crappy turrets that no one asked let alone see unless you zoom in really close that look like they come from Last Starfighter/Tron 1 era special effects. Best artwork to date is the Maller amarr cruiser, which if they spent any time on ship graphics like they did for the Maller where 99% of the interaction takes place in game they would be at least half done since the scorpion remodel.

Edited by: Fakespace on 24/06/2011 18:14:24 As you say, a problem is that alot of us see way to many bad/broken/outdated stuff in EVE that need fixing. What you see is that there seems to be realy realy slow progress right now on anything thats not directly CARBON based, but "only" EVE spesific (like theres a difference anymore). The last patch seems so focused toward carbon, that ppl like you question the sanity of the overall strategy. Dont misunderstand, I'm only for re-use of code WHERE ITS MERITED, but i'm still for it.
Peronally i like alot of the stuff they HAVE managed to do, mainly iterate away alot of small everyday fubars. Also the the carbon ui has potential, the future plans they have for this in EVE is an good example of stuff they should try to communicate better. So, imhu its not as bad as seems (hopefully well start to see changes now that the basic framework is inn).
Ppl would probably better tollerate carbon if they also touched/iterated on at least one MAJOR EVE-spesific issue in such a big patch, or even if they only were BETTER at telling how the (GAMEPLAY?) issues in EVE will (magically:) be fixed by the new shiny carbon.
However, you are also right, microtransaction in EVE is just not what most ppl consider a merited use of resources. Makeing the FIRST sandbox based things alot ppl try out in EVE a bitt more interesting would probably give more staying customers i.e mining, normal belt ratting, fw and so on in that order... you know, the BASICS of the sandbox, the stuff that leads to ppl staying long enough to finally grouping up in 1000 man fleets and get hooked :)

Personaly i would rather have new stuff. New ships, new variants of ships. New modules, equiptment, things i can use in the field.
Whats more, new Ore types, new crafting things low level people can get into.
I know some people are satisfied with the amount of things as it is now. I just like a constant stream of new items and stuff. In game, not in some cash shop.
Whats more, if they really want to attract new players, they should start working on more things low level people can do besides get ganked and join a corp.

i cant really comment on 0.0 space etc as i dont really go there, but it does seam like alot of people are crying out for his to be fixed. however this is not a new problem its been around for aslong as i have (2008)
but since then we have had worm holes added, incursions carbon toons and now that CQ thing its theproblem as a whole really add something new patch a few small bugs in it, leave it generally unfinished and badly thought out and move onto something new, rinse and repeat.
i for one just like things to be finished, i know everything wont be perfect but just do a better job of it.
and i cannt fathom a good reason why CCP feel the need to change things that allready work. even little things like where the wallet balance is the capacitor colour FFS why bother?
think back to the accell gate electricity it looked pretty cool and seamed relevent, why would they feel its a good idea and change it to like a wind type "thing" really? why?
im gonna stop now as i dont really want this to be a rant thread so in short
CCP finish something before u move on to the next bit!

As someone who has been strung along for years waiting to finally have my own avatar I ♥ walking in stations and wouldn't trade it for any other feature.
I would have had no complaints though if they had sc****d the dominion expansion and fixed faction warfare though. I'm still ****ed about the cruise-torp fiasco in dominion. _______ Murashu Agony's End |
