Yea. Don't mess with the internet tough guy.
People in Syria are protesting against an oppressive government that kills real live people that have no way out of the country. People in EVE are protesting against a company that released an update they didn't like and that make a game with a subscription they can cancel.

I have seen this happen before in Star Wars Galaxies when they dumped the NGE on us. The rage was unholy, protests everywhere. On the intrepid server at least half the population was in a single city all spamming our outrage and getting warped into deep space.
They ignored us and pushed ahead anyway then lost 90% of their playerbase.

If CCP have any sense they will shut down Concorde in Jita.
Make it so anything goes...
then watch the fun unveil as everyone kills each other/flees
Would be great fun, better than a few morons shooting a statue.

I think the same happened over at CCP's partner, SOE. They let hubris and arrogance destroy their game, let's see if CCP repeats history. The slow response does not look promising.

I wish a legitimate news/media outlet would latch on to this story.
This is the first "virtual revolution" I have ever heard of...and could become precedent for the future of MMOs.

It'd be great if you could outpace Concord with suicide ganks and possibly destroy some part of the NPC structures.

I dunno about hubris and arrogance. SWG was crappy already. It was just finishing off an already dying creature. It goes without mentioning that the changes made by NGE were gameplay related, and the changes made in Incarna are not.

I hate it when people do this. I am sure 99% of the people who play EVE are able to put things into context, but they/we (I include myself in this) are voicing their concerns about the game that they love, just like people who support a football team when they are not happy with a manager or player etc..
The context where the protest matters is in EVE. Where is the harm in that?

F**k with us and we'll rage on the forums, create funny pictures and shoot in-game structures. Did we show them or what? This is basically the same as Egypt a while back.

Acting the fool is acting the fool, context is irrelevant. Reflects poorly on the human race. Then again, EVE did attract plenty of people from SA
