I rarely post on these forums but after reading the recent blog post published by CCP Zulu I feel sickened and disgusted. I lost all respect for you CCP.
"...one of our more smooth and successful expansions, not to mention absolutely gorgeous..." - Are you on crack? Have you even looked at the forums in the last 3 days?
Stop being so delusional and wake up before it's too late.

Actually, I somewhat agree with him. The new bits and pieces do look nice.

To be honest, it was a smooth expansion.
Especially considering that they added CQ without breaking more than usual in an expansion deployment :)
Also, forums are always angry, the fact that they're extra angry this time only means there are more idiots around.

I agree with it being a smooth expansion as well. There have not been any serious technical issues like rollbacks or days of outages.
The additions are nice as well. Sure some players might not use or want the additions, but I am sure there is a target audience which is quite pleased with being more than a ship.
All the forums rants and end of the world posts were kind of funny at first, but now they are really tarnishing the game. I mean reading some of the stuff, it saddens me to think this is the community I play with. |

Well... you're asking me to stop use my brain? To read what's happening? To react in a far more sensible way than most of the ragers?
Sorry, no can do. I do have my pride and intellect to guard, besides you're not really providing any argument for why I'm wrong.
Would also like to ask why I'm a whiteknight for simply disagreeing with you.

3 patches since then is about CCP's average, but not most game companies' average
and its easy to smoothly introduce nothing. i saw the whole expansion in 5 minutes

Agreed. We're the ones who need to be clear - it's been done, it's over.
The only question that remains now is, where is an MMO maker who has some concern for the integrity of its own product, and which game (if any) can we move to?

The point is, they added something that haven't really been in TQ before. The room may only be one room, but it does introduce a bunch of stuff that wasn't around before.
Also, how other game companies do the expansions is irrelevant, since this will have to be compared to other EVE expansions.

"The room may only be one room, but it does introduce a bunch of stuff that wasn't around before."
no it didn't. it added a couch you can sit on and a tv you can watch, but not listen to or control. and a door you can look at but not open
that's not "a bunch of stuff"
the expansion was crap

That's a rather poor argument. In fact, it's not even an argument.
If you want to hear me say it, then by all means, I like the expansion. And the expansion have not been implemented in TQ any worse than any of the other expansions I have experienced.
You on the other hand, is a clear case of Syndromic mental ******ation. See, it's not necessarily true and I'm fairly sure it's not the case. However, your argumentative skills are somewhat at this level, which is pretty much nonexistent (so far).

I hope you have read the "Greed is good" article and realise that its not the Incarna expansion or the CQ that the vast majority of people are complaining about?
If you have fair enough your entitled to your opinion as am I. If you haven't please do so and see if you feel the same.

This. The gain is short-lived and the blow-back from this mass-exodus is going to hurt.

I have and my stance on it is expressed in the "Why EVE community isn't intelligent" thread. Also, thank you, for not being mindless rager :D

That's what I have told CCP. If they just sell 8 monocles, then that will cover my subscriptions being cancelled. The other marks,.... oops I mean customers can pick up the slack.

I just guess the idea is that a lesser number of players constantly buys new fancy items via MT and this is just the beginning. So a few players less wont hurt that concept. Who knows what comes next after monocle time has passed?

Zulu is right on Incarna though. Let's be honest. These protests aren't mainly about Incarna, or the stupidly high prices of the vanity items in the Nex store. I love CQ, and can hardly wait for full station interaction, and many do to, thogh we can all agree the vanity items are priced stupidly. No, what this protest seems to be about is the future of Eve.
Gripes with Incarna were like a small fire, however, that internal CCP letter was gasoline. Sure, the devblog says it doesn't represent CCP policy, and maybe it doesn't, but what scared and angered Eve players is the fact that senior leadership was even thinking about these types of policies in the first place! In essece, the senior design leads article basiclly can be summed up as "Screw the sandbox, theres money to be made!" And when that document came out, an already irritated player base was completely enraged, setting the stage for what transpired today.

I miss the days when devs posted freely on the forums and were allowed full contact with the community. Now, we just have community managers, who run around and try to herd us like cattle. That works for most communities, but not for EVE. The sooner the higher-ups at CCP realize this, the better. The fact of the matter is that some devs at CCP believe one way, and some believe the other. How this divide works, though, is being completely hidden from us, the community. That is, to say the least, pathetic.
