5) Lack of funds to develop all 3 games.
This looks like the key to me. CCP is overextended, likely as a result of the delusional management mentioned in so many of the reviews.
Sadly, this might mean that even if CCP sees the light and tries to back off from microtransactions, they may not be able to. They have to generate the money or start to failscade even harder than they are now.

Edited by: Ekqhan on 25/06/2011 21:57:01 This was a terrible read. Seriously I always thought to defend them by saying "guys, remember they have brought us this game this far and they should get a bit of patience and faith because of that. Credit if you will".
But from what I've read here (company review site(tm)) it seems that it was done by a few talented people who have now left and the cumulative effect of them leaving and them working for CCP before is now showing or the cumulative effect of nepotism and unprofessionalism is now showing because the EVE player base simply got too big to be run unprofessionally.
I am writing this in the hopes that someone up there will read this and think - "Uhmm that's me... lets change this, we HAVE to".
And OFC BUMP

For me this fits so nicely with what we are seeing around us in eve and last events...
Unprofessionalism can be spotted from afar in devs giving out T2 BPOs to players, lack of communication, critical level issues like boot.ini scandal, recent hardware damage caused by incarna ultra-heavy gpu load on some systems, release of new forum system containing significant security problems, then lying about those problems. In general, lack of corporate responsibility, because CCP is not a corporate culture. The only reason EvE lasted so long is because the sandbox was full of people building sandcastles. With the suspection that they are going to introduce pay-to-win items in the nex store come questions, and...
Suddenly silence.
CCP again acts with arrogance and ignores our feedback as "Very predictable", which fits nicely into the image conveyed in the glassdoor.com reviews. They do not like feedback that much, gods forbid criticism. They have their vision and right now it is about selling pixel prada to rich suckers. We can't throw them off it. Too bad they're going to gradually include sellable conveniences and in-game obstacles for removal of which we will be charged as well.
At least after reading those reviews I understand how this could happen. Good experience about the inevitable features of human condition. -- I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Threadnaughts on fire off the shoulder of Orion... |
