This is a well written post that I was having ideas about posting, but your version is far simpler, more eloquent, and does the job. A few additions:- Issue 3: MT and Fearless CCP can tout the line that Fearless is designed as discussion only. However, when it is distributed company why, left on every desk and every coffee table, it is crystal clear that the topics have the interest of the higher-ups.
Issue 4: Zulu's Blog CCP Zulu has a chance to nip the entire crisis in the bud here. Ask yourself, why is the community so scared? It's the prospect of Pay to Win items coming into EVE at any point in the future. Fearles discussed it, prominent CCP employees such as Soundwave pushed for it (a massive betrayal in the eyes of the users), and the blog failed to mention it at all. Silence on this matter is as good as saying "Yes, P2W items are on the table some time in the future". This needs an answer. This is why people are so scared, the EVE community does not want P2W items ever. Never. Ever.
If you agree with this, then please tell us! Promise us P2W items will never hit EVE, and things will calm down. If you don't even have the guts to tell us though, then you are undeserving of our subscriptions (3500+ and rising so far).
Issue 5: Captains Quarters Next time you create internal models, don't release them in a state where it renders every part of every surface, visible or not, in CQ at maximum detail regardless of distance. This is EVE, not Crysis for f..ks sake. Want to know why GPUs are burning? There you go.
Issue 7: Community Communication This has been a wildfire. CCP could not have done it better - every measure they have taken has been the wrong one. Silence in a matter like this is tantamout to guilt. What started as typical patch day blues escalated with a document about P2W that was confirmed as official, that contained material so inflammatory it created a wildfire. The fact CCP didn't address these rumours quickly is proof in our eyes they intend to push through the plans, and has been like pooring gas onto said wildfire.
The blog which answered nothing, including the big question, and then stated "I hope Iæve addressed your concerns" when it didn't shows how out of touch you are. You are not listening, this drove a gas tanker into the wildfire. You again remained silent.
Then the leaked e-mail from the CEO of CCP. I can't put it better than the OP, it was like another slap in the face, several more tankers being dropped onto the wildfire, and a community which is too numb with shock to even respond constructively.
What we are witnessing, is CCP's attempted destruction of the sandbox that it has spent 8 years creating, that we have spent 8 years loving. They are ****ing on it without the courtesy of calling it rain. But the sandbox is fighting back, it will keep fighting back, and it will have answers. But if EVE does go P2W, it's the end of that, the end of the sandbox, and one of the great tragedies of our time. All because CCP lied to the players, ignores what they said, and never had the guts to tell us what they were planning.
