Instead, Caldari Navy would spawn and would attack you... but it's possible to tank that if I recall. Sounds fun though. I'd do it if I didn't have to leave for work soonish...

The Caldari Navy respawning was a little problem, but enough progress was made against it's shields that we were hoping we could take it down if we started immediately after downtime - the first attack was an impromptu thing starting at a random time. When the server came back up the shield resists of the titan had been changed so the fleet was unable to make more than a very tiny dent in it. And there is nothing that indicates that the destruction would actually change the game, the general thought was that CCP hates player influence and the titan, even if destroyed, would simply respawn after next DT, if not sooner. Most participants gave up after several hours when it was not possible to bring shields lower than 90% or so.

Shooting it would be missing the point though, as it won't cripple a trade hub to lag down an out of the way system that no one cares for anyway.

In fact, I think what you and Lib did here is one of the best things to come out of the last days: it was entertaining, innovative and very much in the spirit of eve. Despite that, I'm on the other side of the agenda to you so forgive me if I try to puncture your schemes even whilst I admire them. Btw - You should submit this for the best protest prize in the Events forum. Edit - My favourite part was the pruvate convo with Lib in which he tried to get me to say things that could be taken out of context and used to support the idea that I was just trying to undermine a legitimate protest. That was unexpected and lots of fun.
