I know a lot of vets in EvE. I cannot say I want to join a game full of bitter EvE vets, though.

You'd be surprised, everyone is laughing and joking, former bitter EVE enemies are all getting along and helping out where they can...while still pvping and having a good time killing stuff.

And I'm waiting for all you smacktards to finally stop posting over here.
What a gloriuos time for the EVE-O forums that will be. At least until you all get yourselves banned over there and come crawling back. Only a company like CCP would put up with you lot for so long.

I wouldn't expect it to last too long. But yeah, so far it's been great, some ex eve players who's moved there earlier are helping out the newb vets. Amazing how a common enemy brings tards together.

Perpetuum is a great game.
You will notice how much more fun pvp can be terrain advantages and not being able to shoot through obsticles.
The core game is very similar to eve though.

Those bittervets was probably banned on chinese server for ISK trading and EULA violation, so the new project is now Perpetuum. I hope they will stay in that chazm forever or at least for few days until new tweets about another best-all-around-for-bittervet MMO will show up.

My favourite thing about perpetuum is that devs are in game and will discuss the game and their development openly to players.
This is the kind of company I want to support. Not greedy CCP.

Perpetuum sucks. You guys may be able to fool yourself into liking it for some time as a result of your anger towards CCP, but at the end of the day, that will subside and you will realize perpetuum sucks, no matter the denial.
The worst day in Eve is still 10^24 times better then the best day in Perpetuum.

Yeah but the only reason the devs can do that there is because it has such a small player base. It's best explained this way:Do you ever watch South Park? In one episode, a Walmart moves to South Park, angering the residence who feel it will harm local business. At the end of the episode, they burn down the wal-mart, vowing to shop only at the local mom and pop store. All this increased business allows said store to grow larger, and larger, until it too, becomes a power house, which the towns people promptly burn down.
Perpetuum is the mom and pop store, Eve is walmart. Eve got to where it is by being a awesome game, I love it, even now. I wont cancel sub ever, they will have to shut down Eve to keep me from playing.
If perpetuum succeeds (Better chance of the powerball) It too, will become a wal-mart, and you again will vilify the owners of your new found game. It's an endless cycle, and to state otherwise is delusion.

By your thinking, it would be equally illogical to game knowing what you have stated. You are , of course, familiar with the Law of Atrophy yes?
The task at hand is to prevent the decay for as long as possible.

It's like eve lots of ways different ways to make $$
Mining and harvesting can be done semi-afk like mining in eve I've been making most my money mnufacturing and playing the market.
Since the new expansion farming npcs is much more profitable but it is a little more effort.

even the GMs in perpetuum are nice & fast with most issues.. i had a problem & emailed a GM with in 30mins he had convo'd me & we talked for another 30mins while he sorted my problem out. i was shocked lol. so you start in a 'noob' ship that is much like eve's noobship...one gun + one mining laser or whatever
soon you get a 'Mk2' version of it
then you do all the 10 tutorials and get a new mech with 4 turret slots, 2 'lows' and 1 'high' slot, then I guess from there you start getting into the 'real' mechs.
Funny enough, my 4-gun mech after doing the tutorials would look like this translated to Eve (lol):
Highs: 1x sensor booster
Mids:
4x small electron blasters
Lows: small armor rep nanofiber I
The mech gives 3 bonuses to like dmg, optimal, ROF, then there's the skills that affect all your weaps, mechs, nav, etc.
Very eve-like in setup, but then again I'm still in the 'starter' area so haven't seen much of the 'real' game yet, but definitely getting into it. Stuff goes here |

Because it costs $1 per round now, right?
More like $0.40, for me. I don't know about the guys quoted above, but I can't be assed to spend that much on ammo. I picked up 1000 rounds of German milsurp 7.62x51 NATO for my AR-10 for $400.00.
EDIT: In regards to the OP, I may be checking Perpetuum out at some point. However, the graphics in the videos I've seen of the game were pretty terrible, so that's something of a mark against it. I'm not one of those "It must look absolutely awesome or I won't play!" types, but I'd prefer my games to at least look decent (it helps me immerse myself more thoroughly), which the videos I've seen...don't. EDIT: # 2 Hmm...I may have been wrong. I just checked out the trailers on their website, and they actually look pretty decent. I wonder if the videos I'd seen previously were beta vids...
The game I'm really looking forward to, though, is SW:TOR. The multiplayer aspect of it may or may not suck, but I'll be playing it more as a Knights of the Old Republic game which just so happens to allow for multiplayer than as a true MMO. -Wrayeth --> Insert Useless Signature Here <-- |

Looks nice based on the youtube gameplay videos. Reminds me of early EVE videos.
I have a question to people that jumped from EVE to Perpetuum though:
Are penalties for dying just as harsh? Do you still lose all your stuff when the mech you are piloting dies?

When your mech gets blown up it's works just like eve there's a can left with a few Of your fittings inside.

apparently there's even a 'killmail' function or will soon be (hard to follow the conversations sometimes as the chat is extremely busy with all the Eve players asking "how duz i shot-webz?" and "how do i turn on my mining lasers?" heh
I also heard a 3 or so man gang of fast assault mechs beat down another gang pretty handily. Chomping at the bit to hurry up and learn how to not die in 12 seconds (I'd go for 20 seconds and feel proud) so I can get into the pvp areas without being a total embarrassment to everyone including myself Stuff goes here |

We wouldn't waste the ammo.
Because it costs $1 per round now, right?
OH SNAP!

We totally went on a nub bot roam a few hours ago. Was pretty fun, adventuring around the great unknown, our cluster of little spidery failbots. Then we got ambushed by a pair of mechs that popped out of nowhere (damn ye active stealth), and all 10 of us were horribly murdered by 2 guys casually lobbing missiles.
Haven't had that much fun in a while It was frapsed, hope they upload the footage soon ...oh wait
