STFU, none wants to play this pile of crap. It's just some wannabe EVE copy with incompetent developers. And there are no monocles.

Wrong. ---- Will 2011-06-24 go down as the day CCP stood still, or the day the dream died? |

I downloaded and played it yesterday, initial impressions are very good. There is an EVE channel that had over 200 people on, including some of those who have recently been banned from EVE. After a good few hours play I decided to sub for a month anyway, I can see it being my new game, especially once my sub to EVE runs out in a few weeks.
Oh and the community is awesome, lots of Devs and GM's chatting away to people, players at the noob area's giving stuff away to the EVE refugee's. Sure, the game won't be for everyone but it certainly does remind me of the early days of EVE. I'd certainly recommend people try it at least.

I tried it. You guys probably saw me there. Although EVE is still my game, Perp was actually kinda cool. It doesn't really look modern, but it's unique and it has that hook that sort of piques your interest and pushes you forward.

i have just purchased a months subscription not had a go yet, a bit worried about devs being to accommodating. That said it does sound like the romance of the early eve years may be found there.

lag has made it unplayable for alot of aussies/nz.
I just rubberband pretty much the whole time.
Anyone else know of any other single shard, time based skill, player economy market games? NO TO MICROTRANSACTIONS IN EVE. |

I fail at installing or even registering at perpetuum. *lol*
So i registered, but don't have a username, but only my own is visible.
I want to install, but it says i have to install directx 9, which is stupid, because i'm using Windows 7.
I can't open up a new topic, because the button is missing.
Even if i manage to install the game, i believe it says i need to activate my account by paying, but i don't have any way to actually pay them money. Paypal really sucks tbh, but that would be the only way to pay.

I can certainly appreciate the effort they've gone to to capture the SPIRIT of EVE in their mech game, but... between not being set in space (a thing I could've gotten over) and the frustrating extra steps they make you go through to do things that were simple in EVE (there are four or so steps to mining resources, really?) it ends up feeling like a poor-quality knock-off, at least to me.
It has potential but at the moment, I don't see it as being able to fill the void that EVE would leave, if the game doesn't turn around before my account's time runs out. That said, to those of you who find Perpetuum works adequately, I wish you the best of luck with your new game, though I do hope things here turn around and those of you still willing to can come back.

Well itŠs a blatant copy of EVE and there is nothing wrong with this. Why change a system that simply works? It has some nice details that are better that EVE. It doesnŠt look as good as EVE by far, but Minecraft doesnŠt either and no one would call Minecraft a bad game (Well, Perp looks a lot better than minecraft). And its a nice little company with a lot of helpful GMs and DEVs in our EVE-channel. ATM I feel better giving them my subscription fee than investing it in CCPs upper managements c*c*ine addiction and loss of reality.

I could afford multiple monocles But I would not ever buy them. Specially since after the internal email. The Monocles look low tech in my books. _________________________________ -be vary of the men behind the curtain-

Well, everyone thought CCP was incompetent when they started too...
Also, our devs actually talk to us. Can your say the same?

Started tonight. Not sure if I'm going to sub, but I have 14 days of trial left to figure that out.
As someone said, it's pretty rough around the edges. I'm guessing it's a fairly small project, so this is understandable. Exiles were very helpful, Dev was in chan with us and was a nice presence to have. Decent music and sound. Graphics look dated IMO, but the environments were crafted with care nonetheless.
Nothing can replace EVE, but you'll find no small number of EVE's personalities here. The players are what count anyway.

I bet the Perpetuum developers are just a CCP puppet corporation and they're laughing at all the ragequitters still throwing money at them. --------

"This is a time when we pay less attention to their words and more attention to their actions" Hilmar
Well, look alive then cat... at least 800 different people (All different accounts on at least two "EVE Refugee" corp) have subbed to Perp (You have to sub to enter a corp there).
Watch to see if these people will pay next month of EVE, if you're so helbent on ignoring what we say. ____________

I'd never even heard of Perpetuum until all this started. I downloaded it and tried it out but I don't think it's for me. Not really worth a sub anyway. However, I did download Dark Prophecy (which is free to play) and the tutorial missions were a lot of fun. It's more like SWG Jump to Lightspeed than EVE but at least it's a space game
