I'd decided to stick with Eve despite all that has happened as I still enjoy the game.
Years ago I boycotted all Sony products, and if they become a controlling partner Eve will be no different, and I'll quit before I get frustrated with Sony's attitude of adding more and more inconveniences and problems with their products in order to force every last penny they can from their customers.
Come to think of it that kinda sounds like charging real money for more ship fitting save slots.

Edit - However I am happy to continue playing until that day, if it ever comes at all.

This is an SOE tactic written all over guys, if it is true I wouldn't be at all surprised and as an SWG player I have boycotted all Sony brand goods. EVE will be among them if this rumour turns out to be true, since micro-transactions and cloning other games in a poor manner is what they love best.

How do you think equity is managed pre-IPO?
Publicly listed merely means the shares are publicly tradable. E.g., via a stock exchange. Non-public companies can, and very often do, issue shares. I've got a share certificate hanging on my wall now from a non-public company. Which I hope, someday, will be worth more than I paid.
