Even though the Sell Forum serves it's purpose, it is a cumbersome way of doing business. With more and more mods coming to light, half the folks can't find what they want, and the sellers can't keep it in front of the buyers without violating the rules of the forum by excessively bumping their posts. And now folks like this come along who create auctions for items that don't even exist and waste everyone's time:
Fraudulent Auction
It's time to implement an auction system into the game. I'm not a coder, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say that it doesn't seem like it would be any harder to create then the current Escrow system. Give sellers the ability to set clearly defined reserves, minimum bids and increments...and give buyers the satisfaction of knowing exactly when the auction will close and where the item will be made available to them. Have all auctions as single item auctions so you can sort the list of auctions and easily find what you're looking for (or sort by reserve if you've just got a wad of isk burning a hole in your pocket). Regardless of the minutia of it's implementation, it's time it made it's way in here. Drop a line here if you agree.

its a brilliant idea tomake ingame auction so we get rid of all the false auction and so ppl cant run from there bid. its better for both parts

I agree Arkive !
As i suggested in the auction posting....its about time something is done about it.
Your suggestion is valid and probably correct as to the complexity and difficulty of creating such a system, i just hope ccp see it as a problem and do something about it soon.

This should be possible under the contracts system which was/is a planned feature for exodus.
According to the (unfinished) information here a reverse escrow with a bidding reserve will do the trick.
It would be nice to know whether or not CCP has abandoned these plans and if not, their ETA would be greatly appreciated.

I think this system would be a great idea, but I do not think "CCP" will:
1) Read this thread
2) Do it any time in the next 6 months

For the time being, wouldn't posting auctions only with reputable characters work as well ?
Or, just an idea, throw the mods you put on auction on an escrow for an insane amount just so everyone can see that they are actually there ?
It's what I do, works great as far as I am concerned.

This is a very good idea. i think the Devs do read these forums. Maybe they will buy a WoW copy, rip their code and install here.....but no, that would be wrong.

Signed, I loved this feature to death in WoW. Adds a whole new level to the market system.
Duh, dont you see auctions in every walk of life currently?

the auction house in World of warcraft works very well. people travel for hour to go to the cities to get them, and thier special named loot
