Alts of the company?
PR firm hired like those that go on sites/blogs to post comments?
They really are players but somehow missed the last weeks firestorm?
Add more options as you see fit.
But they were no where to be seen then all the sudden a wave of people show up with arguments that are torn down rather easily but try to justify MTs. While avoiding the other major issues like the lies and Leaks and blatant smoke and mirrors PR garbage that was tossed at us.

It's just funny how obvious it is.
3 days with no one voicing these ridiculous pro-MT statements.
CCP comes into the office and all of a sudden you have 20 people with no corp or avatar posting distracting black-intel and propaganda.
(they are starting to learn the need to create avatars first)
LOL true.
I support CCP in that they prolly think you are an idiot too.
Does that make me a dev alt?

Or.. maybe the grownups with a little sense didn't bother getting into the screaming matches with little pukes spewing temper tantrums all over the forum. Nah, that can't be it!

All companies lie and withhold truth. Most companies do have an in-house newsletter. Letters that would be damning if in the wrong hands. Obviously the wrong hands being the protestors.
P2W came out with Plex No crazy riots or protests. More players and accounts created.
P2W mention ships/ammo/skills/standings/vanity. ****storm. While i agree on the skills being a bit ******ed. The rest is just fine. Who cares if some noob wants to pay for standings for level 4 missions? Like it is not easy to do anyway. Who cares if someone buys a t3 or equivalent ship/ammo? Gank it or buy it off the market because people will sell the ****. Just like plex.
What has occurred to me is that converting plex to Aurum will take a lot of plex off the market. Making many people have to pay more, use a credit card, or stop using their character. This seems to be the underlying tone of the whining.
Just my two cents. Worth a lot more than most. If i was a ccp alt i would have banned a hell of a lot of you. You want to unsub and claim you're quitting...BAN

While I am sure there are people genuinely in support of ccp posting logical arguments. The majority I saw online today speaking in defense of them fit a one word description: TROLLOLOLOL!

I don't think I've posted or hardly looked at this forum since about 2007 when I posted 1 question about the then, infamous in the help channel, perpetual motion machine. But I, like many others, simply will not stand for bringing in any game affecting items for cash. And I have canceled my two accounts and continue my Jita protest because I care about the game. I have been actively posting in here for the past few days for the same reason. I don't want CCP to destroy this wonderful game. As far as money for artistic things, I'm all for it. I'd actually pay for a paint job on some of my ships. |

People who are sick of all the whining crybabies on these forums bringing their **** into the game. We got an influx here on the forums probably as a direct result of the riot in jita.

You need to read more of the forums/dev blogs then.
They will never add items that affect game play / game mechanics. CCP has said this before and have not officially said otherwise.

Obviously you're too much of a noob to know how unsub works. Unsubscribe means you won't pay for future monthly access.
It doesn't prevent you from coming here and posting.
People DO CARE about the game, if CCP reverses course and can adequately convince the people who are against the NEX being used to usher in P2W, then they have saved alot of subscriptions that would otherwise leave.
Gripe all you want about those who are not going to pay for that kind of A$$ F**king, but the vast majority of the players who helped build this community into what it is are not going to sit idly by and let this happen.
And they FAR outnumber you and the rest of the "do me" fanbois.

I know how unsub works. I also know old characters with 0.0 standings usually means they don't play often and it usually means they are an alt. Beside the point. Thousands of accounts hundreds of thousands and only a few thousand whining about it. I guess the fanbois outnumber those like you. If you unsub and claim to be quitting (claim...see what i did thar?) then just leave. **** off. Who cares. Voicing your point becomes becomes somewhat ironic. You know?
Let me show you what you look like :) "I unsubbed 5 accounts but i am going to stay here and whine." "I don't like what ccp is doing to me or the game i pay for so i am going to unsub and protest for the remainder of my time." "I pay the county sheriff's salary but he still let me get a ticket" oops....same thing only real life. "If mt goes live i won't be able to compete because i buy plex with isk because i am poor." (but somehow can afford internet and a computer) "I am going to unsub and quit because i don't like this game....however i am going to stick around until my time runs out in hopes of them giving in to the demands of a bunch of immature kids like myself." "I can barely afford plex prices as they are and this will only make them go up. This is not fair!!!" Ad nausea. And now you see what you look like. I guess the proper response was to just type...U Mad?

Then save it back when they introduced plex. Oops too late. Now we already have P2W. You just want it to stay where it can be P2W where it is most convenient for you. You know i am right. You just won't let yourself admit it. Bandwagon and all that.

I was ****ed at first, but after I logically walked myself through what's been going on, and came to my own conclusions, I decided that most of the vocal people on the forums needed to shut up.
Thankfully, there's been some lull in the blind mob-mentality raging, and the rational, reasonable people have been able to post without getting utterly drowned out in the chaos that these boards have been for the last few days.
But of course, this post means nothing to most people, and I must be a recent PR plant, despite the appx. 2 years I have been moderately active on the forums. Good foresight by CCP, eh? -------------------

LOL true.
I've been here the whole time. It's just that my general support of CCP has been muddled and lost in a sea of nonsense and neverending screaming.
I think I posted in that huge thread at some point. Said I agree with everything CCP is doing. I enjoy their game - love it - and although CQ is great, an option to disembark would be a good idea for people who can't yet fully utilize the Incarna system (or pretty much anyone content in being stubborn).
I had also mentioned at various points that I've no problem with the MT store. I even play another game that offers fluff or even better items via an MT shop and yet, the game is playable and fun. (All Points Bulletin: Reloaded)
Then again, that game isn't this game and EVE is heavily driven by its playerbase. I'm not so sure golden ammo or an IWIN button would be such a good idea. But, with my experience in MMOs and even those with item shops, I have yet to actually find anything that creates a situation where a player is able to receive their own personal win button. And if you're reading this, you've fallen into a signature trap. You owe me 1m ISK. |

Not dev alts or astroturfers, just naive people who believe any old nonsense like this idea that an internal newsletter is just kicking around ideas rather than just internal propaganda to push the company line, people who pretend that those pages that evenews24 left out changed anything in the context rather than cutting some irrelevant employee demographic info.
People who are too stupid to see that there is a difference between paying for someone's game time in exchange for isk that had to be generated through game mechanics and just magicking something out of nowhere potentially undermining the entire player run economy, people who can't see the difference in a cash shop in a free to play game and one that is subscription based.
People to dumb to know how the subscription system works and think that people who have already paid for a product shouldn't use that product .
That's the kind of people postingnthese nonsense threads.

CCP apologist or alt?
Neither. I'm not making excuses for what they've said/haven't said. I've just grown very tired of people who don't seem able to come to their own conclusions. I was a debater in high school. I'm very good at analyzing information and making my own decisions. A hell of a lot of people here don't seem to be able to do that.
My stance is more or less, 'as long as I can buy it for isk on the market, there's really no advantage'. I'll let someone else do the plex buying. I'll keep trading in stations, and make billions off of their stupidities. ISK is easy to come by. You just have to apply yourself.
The day that you can spend $5.00 and get a 5% damage boost straight up to all your ships for 24 hours, is the day I quit. However, I can honestly say that I don't think CCP would ever be that stupid. They might be in this as a business, but they're smart enough to not utterly destroy that business.
Edit: to the people talking about how vanity items are going to 'undermine' the player economy; The economy ran quite well without them. I have full faith that it will continue to do so with a few sets of clothes running around. They literally add no value to the game. They're not consumed in any reaction, they are simply created and destroyed. -------------------

Sweet, another it must be hired guns or Dev alts thread. Because you guys protesting have the only view point possible for a player right? You are so absolutely correct that all other opinions, questions, or doubts just evaporate away in the presence of your righteousness. Horse****! Most of them are quite likely people disgusted by the huge ego you ****wits have displayed from day 1.

I love how anyone who isn't butt-hurt about this patch and immediately cancelling their subscriptions is immediately labeled a fanboi or company alt.
It is the same in every game. Hell, go look at Rift forums for another example of this. The whiners get out there and *****/complain and then say anyone who disagrees with them must be a fanboi.
Some folks just aren't that tightly wound. Get over it. I read the newsletter. I saw the patch notes. I saw how much a stupid vanity item costs. I saw that in the future they will sell ships and God knows what else for real cash.
A) The newsletter didn't make me "outraged". B) I don't give a crap about vanity items. Let em charge $70 for an eye accessory- WHO CARES? C) Yes, because CCP sponsored RMT is so different than now. New player who is rich as hell starts the game. Drops $1,000, hits the char bazaar and purchases a large SP base character. Drops another $100-$200 and buys a pretty kickass ship for that character. I'm trying so hard to see how the future is any different than now.
So... will I quit over any of the stuff folks have been screaming about, with tears in their eyes? No. I want a sci-fi game and my options aren't exactly overflowing here. Its EVE or Star Trek or... what? Not many internet spaceships out there. Does that make me a fanboi? Well, since I'm not crying and shouting that I'm cancelling my two subs then I guess I'll be labeled one. Does that make me a CCP employee? No, but I wouldn't say no to a job offer >_>
