In an orgy of Saturday afternoon boredom, I'm trying to find out the exact version of Das Boot that he used for the music in the clip.
Anyone know (Soundhound/Shazam don't even recognise it )

Dat Destroyer. Someone else said it looks like a U-boat. I agree, and considering that it's a missile ship it just makes it all that much sweeter.

It doesn't look anything like any other Caldari ship, whereas it does have a resemblence to some Gallente ships.

Nice lines, good work, nice effort... but Caldari? To symmetrical. Front is amarrish, mid hull has a gallente feel, but hey the paint is ok.

I'd say more like one of those greek rowing galleons.
Maybe CCP will do a GÇÿGÇ¥Ramming SpeedGÇ¥ module to use in place of a MWD!

This new model is awesome , can't wait to see what they pump out for the bigger stuff ! Also , no more fake cockpit of silyness that all the caldari ships have right now , yay for that !

Another design choice i like with these new models is the removal of random lights scattered everywhere on the hull and the addition of actual windows.

So what is it about this new destroyer that makes it anything more than a glorified Caracal?

It uses missiles? Honestly, no idea as this is the first I've heard of it, but it wouldn't surprise me too much if it was 4 missile sporting Destroyers we got. Sort of hoping not, but it might be better than the initial impression that gives.

Maybe they're replacement models for the current Destroyers?

Either way, I hope they have some sort of transitional role beyond guns to missiles. A longer range Missile Destroyer might be nice, but I can only see that happening with them also having lower maneuverability and reduced speed when compared to standard Destroyers, along with a better stationary tank and buffer.

Caldari needs to fire their ship designers. This whole asymmetric thing is grating my nerves. Please CCP, stop making asymmetric ships, they look hideous.

You can view them (and any other unpublished items present in the game) by TypeID using standard IGB javascript methods.
Gogela site is good example how this is implemented.
TypeID's and current temporary names:
Amarr DST TiII 32874
Caldari DST TiII 32876
Minmatar DST TiII 32878
Gallente DST TiII 32872

Useful only to see actual looks because there is no actual ship stats, names or descriptions yet.

You can view them (and any other unpublished items present in the game) by TypeID using standard IGB javascript methods.

Meaning that the Amarr destroyer is viewable? Does it really look like a Star Destroyer?

I'm pretty sure it's just a stub model.
