I've noticed there's a big problem (pardon the pun) with ship scaling while they are floating about in station. If you make a frigate active, you'll notice that it's a fairly large vessel. If you then make a battleship active, it'll appear as though the frigate was almost half the size of the battleship, which is a complete fallacy when you compare the two ships in space. It appears that ships are improperly scaled within stations; they should all be scaled with the same multiplier, if at all.

Just remember battleship is so large if they scale perfectly and they want the largest ship to fit you would probally not even see the shuttle and if you see it it will be extremely small. ______________________ I am just a crazy cow |

Yup, I don't care. You can't have them magically be different sizes in the station.

The relation between the docking platform and the ships is now ridiculous too. The old hangar showed much better size differences.

I like Incarna and i look forwards to it's EVElution!
But feedback of my observations is a must here :-
Totally agree ship scale in CQ is wrong, the small ships such as frigates should be small, much smaller than battleships when viewed from the platform. At the moment frigate looks like the size of battleships the further away from the platform you are towards the entrance of CQ, they could even pass as a capital!
If ships were scaled correctly in the hangar then the atmospheric mist will have the desired effect thus furthering the sense of depth of ship size in relation to the hangar.
If small ships become too small to see then introduce mounted telescope/binocolars/goggles on the CQ platform or camera zoom/move options.
if whine heeded.... then thank you CCP

I don't see this as a problem, personally. To me, it's just that the smaller ships are docked closer to where your quarters would be (because they can fit into the space easier), so ofc they will seem larger. Whereas the larger classes of ship would have to be further away as they can't fit as close to the station infrastructure as a smaller ship would.

No. This is all about perspective.
Ship size scaling is a mess in EVE in general (Hyperion and Machariel bigger than a carrier? What?) but the in-station view has nothing to do with it. Smaller ships are placed closer to the balcony, while larger ones are placed further away. The fact that you're trying to gauge scale and distance on a two-dimensional screen is the problem. If you move the camera around, or walk along the balcony with your ship in the background, you begin to get a sense of the true scale of the ships.

If you walk around a bit you'll notice that bigger ships are actually placed further from the platform, thus the less visual size difference. Anyway, my archon carrier does barely fit in station =]
Also they had one scale for all ships on SiSi back when CQ was only on test server, it looked ridiculous. Carriers filling up the whole view and still having less than half of their hull visible while you had to use a magnifying glass to see shuttles and frigates.
