will CCP get more money if it provides option to train multi chars for money?
I hope there is something like the option to pay 1.5X sub to train 2 characters and 2X for 3(reason for the discount will be 1:chars cannot get online at same time.2:no extra serve burden).
will you like this idea and eventually pay more to ccp?I mean will this cause you train more chars(+0.5 point each) or will this cause you stop your current alts(-1 point each) because you don't need to use them at same time?
me +0.5 point

Yes, I'd pay a PLEX to have my alt be able to train while I train my main on the same account. Also adding this to the RR the CCP thread. -- I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Threadnaughts on fire off the shoulder of Orion... |

err...
If you paid a plex to have a second character doing simultaneous training...
Why wouldn't you just have a separate account in the first place? No price difference there.

I would pay slightly more, but not an entire plex a month.
either a one time fee, or a VERY small fee to train another char at the same time for so many days. If the price was too high it would be better to just get a second account, which would make more sense...

I meant a one-time, if it's montly, it should be less ofcourse, as you can't log them both on. -- I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Threadnaughts on fire off the shoulder of Orion... |

Not really, I've been playing eve for a while, I currently run 3 accounts each has at LEAST two skilled alts on it, so if i could bump my subscription fees on each of those to train an additional alt I'd dive on it.

ah yes, good point. I was coming more from the perspective of someone with only one account ATM.

yes, I'd gladly pay another half a subscription to be able to train a second character at the same time. No doubt about it.

It'd be neat if it were slightly less than full sub cost, like may 3/4 PLEX or something, but yeah there are plenty of people who would probably use a PLEX to add an additional slot for training to an account.

Extra storage space, admin type purchase, tend to go over much better than direct gameplay type stuff.
For instance, if we had to pay extra for extra character slot, versus, buying Flaming Sword of +2.
The problem is, feeling like, i just lost a fight because that guy paid a quick fee. I.e. he just paid to win against me. i.e. He just paid for me to loose.
Whats the point of playing Chess, if the other guy can just buy Queens, and pay money to change the way his Bishops move. Its stupid. It destroys the whole aspect of "game".
It capitalizes on the fear of loosing, and monetizes cheating.

How many people would start training characters to sell if we were allowed to do this? I'm not against it, just haven't seen this apsect mentioned yet.

This reminds me of something mentioned, I think at an EVE fest several years ago...
Considering the popularity of multi-boxing, a use which they probably didn't foresee when they were first creating EVE, it's understandable why they didn't add support for it from the beginning. However, you'd think by now they would have had it finished, to the point where you can run one instance, in one process space and one memory space (and avoiding a *lot* of memory duplication, unless they're doing some wild shared memory shenanigans in the background, which I doubt) and have multiple chars logged in.
Once you've considered that, it leads directly to the next question: why have multiple accounts at all? Why not let people fold all there chars into one account, and pay for the number of concurrent slots they'll be allowed to log in for? This dovetails neatly with the possibility of buying training queues; once you've decoupled the number of logins from the number of accounts, it's not that far a leap to decouple the number of queues from the number of accounts.
Of course, then this brings into question the number of character slots available; right now it's 3 per account, but if you switch to a per-simultaneous-login model, you lose that neat formula of accounts*3...
Well, it's an idea, anyway.

Huh are these guys nubs ? We used to be able to train more than one char on an account hence why there is still 3 slots for chars. A few years back CCP decided they wanted to make more money by forcing us to train alts on seperate accounts.
Training a second alt on an account used to be called "Ghosting" iirc.

That's what's known as a "beta". I've been here since then; they've never allowed training more than one char per account since the game officially launched.
"Ghosting" referred to the fact that the training queue would still run even when an account was unsubbed, so you could start training Battleships 5 and take off for a month, and it'd be done when you got back. That went away in Apocrypha, I think...

Given how many people run multiple accounts to perform simultaneous actions not just have multiple pilots training, here's the same question inverted - would you pay less for a second account if did not have a training queue on any of the characters?
So once you've trained your salvager alt you can log in at the same time as your mission pilot, you can run your cov ops scout alongside your nullsec ratter - but not "lose out" by having a dormant skill queue.

More damage control, right?
Yes as above posters have pointed out: I too would pay more money to train a second account simultaneously, namely on a second account.
Most alts are useless if you can't log them in at the same time anyway.
Also, you can buy accounts on the character market. Don't crash that secondary market, please.
Thank you.

Not going to happen, if only because having another account open looks better on the numbers.
If it did, it would cost more than a regular 2nd subscription. Just because. ...Then when you stopped to think about it. All you really said was Lalala. |

That's main reason they took away training while you were unsubbed. Officially they called it a 5 year "bug" that was also touted as a feature They did eventually put in the queue to compensate though but not right away :P

I can't remember CCP themselves ever actually calling it a feature; I don't actually recall them ever mentioning it at all, officially. It was just one of those secret "bugs" that everyone knew about and no one ever did anything about...

the character price will surely fall since they take less to produce.but this will not happen instantly but gradually in future.the loss to those trade characters for profit is evitable.
People surely will like this idea because it is optional and basically hurts nobody, the problem is : will this idea actually cause people to train more alts in same account than they stop the current alt accounts, to make CCP like it too.

Not really a secret if everyone knew about it Also they used it as a feature with the old website and naturally took it down the day they stopped ghosting. Look around you'd prolly still see a copy of the website from way back but not too sure about that

Yeah I'd like to have that function with half PLEX price , its not coompletely game affecting since your character are still limited by the system, maybe If I pay 2 month I could have a total of 6 character within one account and 2 or 3 training line as well as 2 client as well, notthing is change completely when you come to think of it, you just pay extra money for extra server load. CCP: Ambition, but rubbish. |

because it would be alot more flexable. i wouldnt run a full subbed account for an indu / pi / trading alt .. however .. having that alt on an allready exsiting account it would give ppl an easy way to train them without having to commit to a full new account / transfer chars around

While it might be a nice option, it would also affect the char market by lowering prices across the board.
