it means there is a patch but your CDN location does not have the update yet - you should be able to force grab it from the downloads dorectly

Use the manual patch. It's available and it works. In fact, it's generally a good idea to do that regardless of whether the autopatching kicks in or not. ùùù ôWe want to try this thing called micro-transactions, but we don't know what it is. Can anyone explainà aw screw it, let's just do it! What could go wrong?ö ù ÇÇP |

Downloaded the manual patch and it went ok. Got to the screen where you enter in your password and it gave me the message "a new patch has downloaded, the client will now close and update". Did that and now it goes in a loop (keeps opening up and closing to "apply the patch". I'm downloading the full build now.... again.

Manual patching seems to work for a few people but hasn't worked for me and a few others. With no repair tool for Incarna yet it seems if it doesn't work it's time to reinstall.

If you look at the patches webpage, you will find a new link to what is called a generic patch at the bottom of the page. Try downloading this patch and use it to update your client. You should be able to use it to update your client no matter what version it is.

Tried the generic patcher advised by CCP Mandrake, it launches to a Python Error with option to visit MacPython web page or terminate. Web page appears to have not been updated since OS X 10.2 yes 10.2 april 2004.
What version of OS X do CCP test with for fecks sake - oh I forgot....etc
Really don't want to have to do a full install AGAIN. Please any pointers anyone? |

. same problem. is this the kind of quality CCP standards supports? it shouldn't be left up to the user to find out how the game company messed up. probably gonna let both accounts run dry if this doesn't shape up.

There is indeed an issue with the mac generic patch, it is my top priority to get this fixed asap, but the issue is quite complicated. I expect to have it fixed no later than this time tomorrow. Sorry for not being able to fix this sooner. Mandrake CCP - Core Infrastructure

Edited by: Marlow Saken on 28/06/2011 17:56:32 Dear CCP,
I currently cannot login to my EVE client due to the bug that is the title of this thread. After downloading the 8.8mb patch (which I have done twice on two separate clients installed on separate machines) both clients give the same error. They close, begin patching, and then demand a re-install.
I am currently at my download limit, due to having already had to re-download the entire 5.5 gig client from the earlier Incarna patches.
I understand that fixing this could dake a day or two; as such I would appreciate if my character (Marlow Saken) has his skill points re-imbursed, as my queue has just gone inactive and I cant login. If it is of any help, once I do login, I'll file a petition to this effect so that we have a record of when I stopped training and when I was able to re-commence.
Thanks for being so understanding CCP.
Yours,
Marlow Saken

How about just using the windows client? (People were laughing at 22 day skills right at incarna launch ;)) Why a forum in the year 2011 still has no automatic double post merge which can be done even with javascript mostly is beyond my understanding. |

Amazingly helpful in the Mac Support section of the forum. Thank you so much. Always good to hear from fellow users with suggestions to fix client problems.
