only advantages you have with useing a group in missions is you complete the mission faster. doesnt matter if you do the mission solo or in a group isk payout/lp payout will still be the same. but in groups isk payout will be between whos in your fleet.

Running missions as a group is subject to diminishing returns, especially so for pimped battleships.
However, if you bring a second ship that complements the first, i.e a Tengu for the Golem you can speed up mission completion due to the fact that battleships tend to slow down where cruisers and frigates are concerned.
Since you are flying a drake you could get a friend to come along in a cruiser to kill off the smaller stuff, but honestly another drake is fine.

I like to run with another corp or alliance member.. Speeds things up, you can plow through missions like blockade and you have some luls too.
We also "escort" new members on L4's,, good experience and still good money for them..
But yeah once you start adding 3 or more members to your mish fleet the payouts fall pretty fast.

One nice thing is that the more dps you have, the less tank you need on each ship. This will help finish missions very quickly, this has diminishing returns once you get more than about 2000dps since you need almost zero sustained tank at that point.

If it's your mission, then you have the option of sharing the ISK with the fleet. You get all the LPs. Not to sure about how the standing works out.

My option. Running Mission in a fleet(groups) can be fun and memorable. Solo is generally grinding away time, and boring.

A significant part of the isk is in bounties which are split among fleet members on grid.

well it depends with low dps (1 drake) its better to have at least 1 friend to come along since u have to count in that npc use repair also so u have to minimize that time, but after u have enough dps(1k+) then it start to be less an less profitable because of the travel time from agent to mission and back wich takes the same time for 1 or 100 people. After 2k dps it becomes useless to add more people even if u have all missions in same sistem. |

LP is shared as well, and all fleet members get standing increases too. Doing missions in fleet generally increase efficiency as long as you increase dps in a meaningful way. Which means a) fly setups which could not fly alone the mission AND decrease time needed for the mission enough. Travel time is here mainly the limiting factor which stops to large setups to be effective on missions. Though if you have a larger fleet incursions should be anyway more interesting I guess.
Why a forum in the year 2011 still has no automatic double post merge which can be done even with javascript mostly is beyond my understanding. |
