Mr Epeen Well, one thing the "Fearless" piece did have right (it actually had many parts right but concluding that they pointed to a certain action was very unfortunately off target) was that the Social element of the game that developes on top of their platform is on the very highest level of value players get from the game. Their conclusion is, that once they lure us in and get to know each other they'll find a way to charge us for interacting and try to get a keeping up with the jones and looking good to friends thing going that will cost Real $ . But, A MMO is far more than a video game.. it is a community and it is a sustained virtual world where you lay down roots and gradually get to know more and more people and have more history etc. If it were a lobby based FPS yeah the door would have looked great.... but if you love MMO's and the idea of a contextual reality that spans space and to some degree re-factors time into something not 100% live ...etc.. its something interesting that you'd llike to see nurtured and grow.. myself from a social science perspective to see how emergent intsitutions and perceptions rising from this laboratory can redefine habits elsewhere.

He's saying, "Don't listen to the people complaining about the high prices, look at the people who actually bought them." It just bothers me a bit that the e-mail was released so late, and almost nobody is looking at the sent date on it. If you think for one second that Hilmar would have sent that e-mail after the 12k+ post count threadnaught then you're sorely mistaken. He's not talking about anything other than NeX pricing in that e-mail.

But its very much the opposite. EvE online is making enough money that CCP felt they could field developing two other games. EvE is a money maker under its sub based plan. No reason for MT other then pure greed. This is now just them blatantly sticking it to the loyal player base and trying to bilk them for more money. This is pure abuse of the players. If the sub model wasn't profitable I might understand the move to add MT. But This is complete crap on ever level. If you go with the addict logic.
