Yes, I'm aware that self regulating, fully functional model of universe cannot be created by CCP or any other company. However, CCP have created something called sandbox and regulate EVE universe by changing certain parameters, like loot drop tables, roids spawn rates, etc. All of this still allows the sandbox to function, hoever, directly spawning stuff, bypassing all those mechanisms destroys the sandbox and turns Eve into a scripted MMO, like WoW.
Destroy the sandbox and turns EvE into a scripted MMO, like .... WoW? ... *laughs* No.

Hmmm, thread knocking "rage quitters"....2 pages.
Thread about why people are ****ed off and threatening to leave the game......80+ pages.
Me thinks if anyone is in the minority it'd be the OP and those like them who started this thread.

Actually, YES. In Eve to get somewhere you had to invest time and effort. With PLEX, you could circumvent it by making someone else investing time and effort. With AUR no one has to invest time or effort, everything is delivered as long as you sweep the credit card. You can create a toon, buy ****loads of SP, buy several premium ships, and that's it - like you've played the game for years, and notice - no one had to level up the toon for you, no one had to build those ships and modules.

It's just very angry minority that's raging on forums and they shouldn't be allowed to stop eve from moving forward just because they don't like something CCP is doing. I am also willing to bet majority of these who "cancel" their subscription will renew it soon after it run out and it looks like they are still actively reading and posting on these forums.
Please do not presume to indicate what I am contemplating, I can see you were not born into a higher class family and I forgive you for that.

Sorry to rain on your parade, but neither Incarna or the vanity items are what people are raging about. Nope, not at all. I have no problem whatsoever if ÇÇP sell 100,000 Lol-Monocles to gullible people, if said people are THAT desperate for a status symbol. Personally, though I have ample disposable income at my age with which to indulge myself, I'm not desperate for status symbols. Frankly, ÇÇP could do with the money, which is why the poor buggers are resorting to selling virtual items at a cost equal to, or even higher than, their real-life counterparts.
To sum up... Incarna? Fine by me. I'm looking forward to the odd walk around a Station! Vanity Items? Buy as many as you wish because it doesn't harm me one way or the other.
That pretty much makes your post a complete waste of your, and our, time.
Have a closer look, do some reading on the forum, maybe a bit of trawling through the leaked newsletter and the rather... eccentric? hopelessly out of touch?... Blogs ÇÇP released. Eventually you'll work the real issue out.

If no ground is given by CCP then honestly it doesn't bode well for EVE or CCP :(

Pretty funny topic... exactly when have CCP not done exactly what they wanted anyway... did you not read the email form Hilmar.
They pretty much always do what they think is best regardless... I think MT for advantages is just the start.. no doubt they will raise subs etc... and you know that all they money is going
a) into WoD or Dust b) into EVE "cough" "cough", practice runs for software in WoD & Dust...
I'm not rage quitting or any of that *****hit but you can't deny the lack of quality in the more recent updates in terms of improving gameplay especially as it is a more expensive sub than most.

i'd love to know how many people who play the game actually read the forums or comprehend last weeks events. i was chatting to one guy last night who didnt even know what a CSM was....how many player will just not bother with stations or mt and will just carry on with their internet spaceship mining/pew pewing and other assorted fun things...
it reminds me of the diffrence between high sec and low sec and how low sec people cannot understand how people can be happy in high sec just pottering about doing their own thing with some having never even shot at another player. for people who have invested a lot of time and effort i can see it must be a worrying time

There is already micro-transactions for none-vanity items and has been for very long time. I will let you figure out that yourself Also everything you buy with AUR you can get with ISK. You don't have to spend single cent on these vanity items and still get them if you choose to spend ISK to buy PLEX which you convert to AUR.
Ok, so its the same for, if you buy a Titan from a Corp that had to build it versus paying 100$ and just having a Titan anywhere poping out of nowhere? Cool. We will see how long this will go well. |

Funnily enough, that's not what the rage is about, so no amount of testing would have solved that. Moreoverà
Quote: and make their voices heard, they chose not to.
àeven funnier, those of us who did log in can't help noticing that choosing to make our voices heard has had no effect.
No voice could be raised about the things people are raging about. The things people made their voices heard about were not addressed.
So what was your point again?
Their point was that they had completely no understanding of the situation and wish to be enlightened.

Edited by: ACY GTMI on 29/06/2011 10:49:31 Why would I care about anything on the Test Server? I pay to play Eve, not Test Server. Also, if I'm not mistaken, things that are tried on the test server, and things that happen there, may never see the light of day anywhere else.
Edit: And some never should see the light of day. Hint hint. |
