Edited by: Apex Bex on 30/06/2011 02:23:25 You say the can flipper is a theif. You sir, display far worse traits.
Greed - You seek to maximise your profit per hour by minimizing your time in transit. Anti-social - You operate alone instead of having a corp mate haul your ore securely. Littering - You spoil the serenity of the belts you visit with the garbage you jettison and the belt rat wrecks you leave behind.
Maybe if you weren't such a greedy, anti-social litterbug you'd get left alone? I for one, am grateful that the likes of you are having their horrible habits punished. Hopefully you'll realise there's a lesson in there for you.

I myself am a miner to, you whine about getting a can of HS ore flipped without there beeing a punishment :p there is plenty of punishment for people fliping you if you are smart enough, but judging by the fact you posted here about it you aint much in that department. Think, u / ur corp, can shoot the thief for 15 mins, use it and quit whining ...

Well I say no more; it should be a serious crime to can flip in a high sec region, and should be punishable by CONCORD by having the flipper get his ship destroyed.
If you shoot at another player's can, you get busted, well then so should stealing from a player's can get you the same way.
You wanna act like a pirate, go to low-sec, otherwise, keep your hands to yourself or pay the consequences.

Wrong the highs sec ore stealing is supported by CCP. With the game mechanics called concord.
Everyone knows you cant blow them sitting in a mining barge. And we all know, the ore thieves are a small value of those mental sick ppl who are playing this game for years. they know that they can shoot a new player out of their ships with their multimillion skillpoints regardless if they sit in a ship type 3 classes below him. if you want to shoot him with friends, you cant. cause the 15 mins are over and the ******* is protected by concorde. gamedesign failure.
and if ppl flame a buy who points that out, they show us some problems with their ethic. but i can understand the flames, cause those "greedy griefers". which only target in life is to annoy other players gaming exp. are afraid to loose this "exploit" what else should this poor lamers do when they cant provocate a fight anymore in high sec ? Iif they had balls, they wouldnt be in high sec, the would in 0.0

Here's an idea. Let's be able to hire NPC's to do protection/hauling? There's the Concord as an NPC game mechanism, how about some rent-a-cops?

What a horrible idea. Concord make high sec a bit too easy as it is.
Why not just join a mining corp or an open mining operation? It's easy to defeat can flippers when you have Orca support and few PvP buddies waiting to attack.

Why even use jetcans? Fit cargo expanders and cargo rigs on a Hulk, then just dock every time it fills up. Switching to a hauler then back to your barge means waiting through two session timers that you could have spent mining instead. It's more efficient to just mine and haul with the same ship, plus you can't be can-flipped.

I completely agree. Can flipping is exploiting a flawed game mechanic to grief. Unfortunately, CCP says its ok to exploit this mechanic and grief away. It seems to be a case by case thing with EVE.

So you can take the risks of j-space but you can't handle highsec? That's just all kinds of twisted.
you have a bad locator agent... Jspace, meant he fell into his jetcan.

It is not wrong. In fact your statements support it if you read your words very carefully.
Also, do you realize how mindlessly boring mining would be without this ???
This sounds more like defense of LAZINESS more than anything else.
First of all, one needs to get away of jet-canning anyway. Think: 2nd toon with Orca.
Also, there is D-scan...you can see cloaky spies at work.
Also, figure out who the griefer corps are and assign them an exclusive color in Contacts, like ORANGE or something. You will ALWAYS see them on local and can take whatever action you need.
Besides, can-flipping is the least of your problems.
The SUDDENLY SMARTBOMBS scenario is the one you REALLY need to focus on.
Besides, I've gone after and killed can-flippers in my Drake within the 15 minutes. Why are your combat ships so far away ????
And I'm a FLAMING CAREBEAR fer Christ's Sakes. Sheesh...................
The only thing here to agree with is yes, if they had gonads at all, they would indeed be in Low or 0.0

I have never had a jetcan stolen from while playing because jet canning is ****ing stupid and I never do it. If you can't get a goodly sized cargo hold, go run a few missions until you can afford/train a decent ship. You'll make money faster anyhow missioning. . I'm as mad as I can take it and I'm not going to hell anymore!

I don't get a lot of kills, but some of my favorites have come from baiting can flippers and then ganking them. OP, you ought to give it a try. @Krixtal my combat ship was near. the problem was. the ******* had an 6 year old acount and with that amount SP he was able to destroy my bs with an cruiser.(not an bc, simple bc) he just used his tech II drones his dps was so high, that even a large armor repairer II wasnt enough. sure, something for others to laugh and call it epic fail. i call it incompetence of the game developers ;)

Confirming that ALL can flippers have multiple millions of skillpoints and have played this game for years.
After all, a <1m skillpoint character could NEVER do something like that at only a couple weeks old, amirite? |
