Because paying a chef to NOT cook something is better then paying for clothes to not wear. I love the Irony...
No but really I would probably have bought really bad food with it. Pizza, chinese take out, junk food, etc. And I don't need that. In fact I better buy some more monocles and tighten up my budget.

Well, as it so happens, I ALREADY (very symbolically and ironically) took an extra $60 I had laying around and bought a DIFFERENT game with it.
Seriously, I did. I had been holding off on the purchase of a specific title for a while because I wasn't sure it was going to be worth my time and/or money. But, since this DISGRACE with CCP, I bought it just for the satisfaction of giving the money to a DIFFERENT gaming company; one that is actually deserving of my money.
And, the way CCP is going, it is looking like I may have a lot more of my "fun money" (as I call the fund that is my "entertainment" money) freed up soon. Not that I'm going to quit the game, though that may happen soon too if CCP doesn't get it's shyt together FAST. But, I deffinately won't be paying them when the servers go dark because CCP is out of business. Don't think that they can't go under from this (in spite of the incoming flames from the trolls and dev alts haunting the forums lately). I have seen bigger companies fail with less cause.
But, who knows, maybe the Monocle morons will buy enough of those ugly things and keep CCP afloat that way. That would be cool. Then maybe CCP would stop trying to squeeze the rest of our wallets and be happy with the money they get from those idiots.
Anyway, I think that covers your question.
Cheers mate for a fun thread.

$60 (US) doesn't go real far, but to further quantify the ridiculousness of the monocle....
- a tank of gas in pennsylvania, depending on how big your tank is
- 6 months of basic Netflix
- a carton of cigarettes in PA
- a single, brand new premium release videogame
- 50+ apps and games for an IPhone
- 2 tier 7 (out of 10) premium heavy tanks in World of Tanks
- over 3 months of basic Gamefly
- almost 3 copies of Minecraft
- 2-3 indie games
- elderscrolls oblivion and morrowind GOTY editions from direct2drive
- 4-5 whole albums from ITunes
- 6 medium cheese pizzas (before taxes) from a locally owned shop i have here
i could go on, but you get the picture.

Yeah. So you keep saying.... over... and over... and over... and over... and over... in about 50 threads.
Maybe it's the truth, probably isn't. Point is, it doesn't matter if you're a liar or not. The point is CCP STILL got $60 for that piece of ugly crap, and its because of YOU that they got that $60 for almost nothing. Why? Because SOMEBODY paid cash for those plex you got. And when YOU burned them to get that ugly thing, CCP got the money that went into those plex for almost nothing. You supported a gaming system where CCP reaps MAXIMUM reward for almost no effort. The exact OPPOSITE of what they want and expect all of their customers, i.e. US, to do.
So THAT is why it doesn't matter how you got it, or them if you have multiples by now. That is why YOU are supporting CCP in their souless grab for cash. THAT is why I don't support you or any of the constant trolling you do.
Wait.... what the hell am I doing? Need to stop feeding the troll....
Oh, just so this post is still on topic: planning on going out and buying ANOTHER game besides Eve with ANOTHER $60 in a few days; just to make a point to myself.

Well since you clearly don't, how about I wipe a small fraction of my wealth on my akita's arse and send it to you? That will amount to $60 + about $500 of my time.. But since I'm not into investing in useless items such as monocles, I don't think I'll bother.

Got a lot more than just $60 laying around. But just because it's laying around does not mean that I'm compelled to by a virtual monocle.
It's ironic that I've stopped playing this game and started playing AoC and today AoC is down whilst it's having a patch added that makes it F2P and an MT shop added.
Only reason I'm on this website rather than AoC forums, is these forums are generally more entertaining atm.

I could imagine spending this for something incredibly cool from the NeX store, as in incredibly incredible cool, but not for a Monocle - I spent ~Ç5.55, which felt negligible, on the boots...
Other than that I would either squander this on a night out, send it to my gf for something for the house, or put it into some asset and forget about it...

Exactly. The intent of the NeX items is not to cheat you out of your hard earned cash, but to suck vast quantities of idle ISK out of in-world -- ISK that represents a real world liability for CCP because it can be used to purchase PLEX and thereby game time for ISK holders, their friends, anyone they please.

Someone in one of these threads said, something to the effect of PLEX ingame was a debt for CCP. In away he's right, although it's more of a loan from the players buying PLEX, so the more PLEX ingame can be used without extending game time, the more CCP does not have to pay the loan back.

Because IRL trolling > internet trolling.
you'd be lucky to find a decent bottle of scotch in a supermarket for that price, never mind a bar... jesus you people really don't get out much do you
oh and tell me, does your local bar accept ISK?
You'd be surprised, but something tells me you arent old enough to drink.
And why the hell would I care about my local bar taking ISK? You must be riding the short bus...

i'll tell you why - because The Monocled Elite have purchased their monocles using ISK, not real life money
so therefore the whole purpose of this thread is redundant, it just sounds like RL poor people dreamily speculating about what ú40 would buy them - amusing, but pointless (unlike my ELITE monocle)

Monetary assets will be the death of your souls.
If your things dictate who you are, you've already lost.
I am not my sofa, or my PC. These things are all fleeting and in the end useless.

I would buy plex then buy a Legion or some deadspace mods.
Something that actually does something.

You do realize ISK has a real life money value attached to it via PLEX, right?
Spin it however you want if that makes you feel better about your purchase of virtual items, it doesnt change a thing.
But why are you so defensive about the whole thing, buyers remorse?
