I just read on another post that you lose SP if you lose a Tengu. Is this true and why? Expecting that my clone is at the proper level.

You lose one(1) level of a random subsystem skill. That is atmost some 210k SP. This only applies if you're in the ship as it explodes and active.
It is there because t3's shouldn't be disposable and near enough anything that costs mere isk is today. Parrots, commence!

Since it takes roughly 4 days to go from 4 to 5 in a subsystem it isnt the end of the world, and if you fear you will go kablooey you can always eject as you are about to die if you reaaally dont want to lose SP.

Though if I remember correctly self destructing takes time to do, and I think ejecting takes time as well but not as much doesn't it? It's been a few years since I've done such a thing or made someone else do it.
I think the last time I saw something like this I tried to get someone to eject from their ship while pirating, instead they hit self destruct and I decided to let them go right before they blew up but before they could stop the detonation just for a laugh. And this was a few years ago.

RP crap or the real reasoning? If the latter one, then listen up: that's CCP's way to balance out their stupidly overpowered tech3 vessels. ---

if you eject too early they might stop shooting and just take your ship :) |

Theoretically this is true. But by the time you're thinking about ejecting, your skills and implants are probably the only thing holding it together, so it would likely go kaboom as soon as you're in your pod anyway.

Personally if that happened to me, I would have to pod the person who ejected. I would make you rep yourself a bit and than eject so I can take your ship. And if not I probably just shoot down your ship and than pod you.

You understood nothing. Congratulation.
