The Peace Talks - Day One The first day of the great Incarna Peace Talks is over. I will not attempt to go into incredibly great detail in this posting; I just want to give a broad overview and offer some impressions. To be honest, I'm exhausted and only have a few minutes before dinner.
I want to start by saying that everyone at CCP, and in particular CCP Zulu, was very open and frank about their opinions, and provided any information CSM requested. This was very useful.
In the morning, we discussed issues regarding the rollout of Incarna and the Captain's Quarters. Just about everything people have been *****ing about and then some was discussed in detail -- melting video cards, multiboxing, lighting, the death of ship spinning, just to name a few.
CCP started this meeting by saying something incredibly smart. It gave me hope that the entire summit would be a success, but you will have to wait to find out what it was. Suffer, *****es.
Then, after lunch, we spent over 3 hours discussing the Noble Exchange rollout and virtual goods pricing. This was a very passionate session, to say the least.
CSM got a complete rundown on the overall CCP vanity goods strategy, and it became obvious how a series of mistakes and communications breakdowns -- both internal at CCP, to CSM, and in their messaging to you (and lack thereof) -- resulted in the NEX rollout debacle.
There should be a devblog coming out in the very near future that explains CCP's strategy, puts things into context, and hopefully starts healing this self-inflicted wound. Anyone can shoot themselves in the foot, or the ass, but in this case CCP managed to do both with one shot, which takes real skill.
The day ended with some work-in-progress demos of the other CQs and an establishment. Some nice work, and the Gallente CQ is the best CQ IMHO.
Tomorrow, we will tackle the big question: Does CCP have plans to release game-affecting virtual goods (aka "gold ammo")?
Suggestion of the day: adding a "Just Say NO to Virtual Goods" t-shirt to the Noble Exchange, priced higher than a monocle. Is CCP fearless enough to do it?
End of quote.
UPDATE Apparently ship spinning / the old hangar is never coming back. Trebor_CSM tweeted about that, I was about to copy that tweet but apparently he removed it (!!) I am not making this up.

TL;DR
CCP: It was all just a breakdown of communication: here's a dev blog for the plebs Trebor: Suffer, *****es.
Summary: Yawn.
I honestly don't see a point to the CSM. Way I understood it, it was about feeding info to CCP re: game changes so they could get **** done for us in expansions. Which always seemed to be carping on about obvious **** they never had any interest in addressing because - as we later found out - polished content etc etc etc.
Since then, what's the point? Are the CSM just cheaper than hiring a PR firm? Guess they are.

For the love of god, WHY. What the hell is the problem with letting us choose between the old hangar or CQ? This doesn't make any sense, at all.
I really would like an answer from CCP as to why they refuse to include the old hangar.

HINT: Not having Incarna WiS / CQ affects their NEX sales drive.

I'm starting to think I'm the only person who doesn't give a damn what they charge for vanity virtual goods. To me, even discussing (much less getting passionate over) the pricing of them was a waste of time. CCP can charge whatever they like for their monacles and pants as long as they keep it from being game impacting.
Really shocked to hear that we are stuck with CQ.

Not having a dock to hangar option is lame, I like CQ but I like hangar to. Just ruins the sense of urgency when u have to dock up from combat to grab some cap boosters and there's your lil toon, no goo, clean clothes, out of pod, then u hop right back into space....
ATLEAST give us a jog dial on the hologram inerface of our ship so we can spin the ship around from the balcony...
I'll live =) but I would love the option.
Oh and tell them to get ship paints on the NEX ASAP, I got lots of ships and money to spend...
Sorry, typos, in a hurry XOXOXO hahaaa

Because they know that most people who aren't interested ever using the CQ will most likely never buy the barbie doll items.
Thus effectively showing those people the door in which allows you to exit game. YOU WILL BUY MY BARBIE DOLL ITEMS and P2W bling bling or GET OUT! /just saying.

CCP, your CSM system is a ****ing joke. You invented it because you got caught cheating, and then when you got caught defrauding your customers you use them (CSM's) as a shield.
I have to say it reminds me very much of operation human shield in the Southpark movie.
Bravo CCP, you totally ****ing embody the stereotype of "evil corporation". I don't even hold as much contempt for Intel as I hold for you.

And the spin control begins.
It seems to me there is more than enough spinning going on with CCP over this issue to more than make up for the changes to the hanger.

CCP doesn't have to put ship spinning back in EVE.
But, the multitude of multi boxers who play EVE for trade or industry and don't undock often dont have to renew their acct's do they. Atm there seems to be a consensus that running multiple clients with cq is very difficult and looking at the door is annoying after even a short time.
GL with that.

It should have been CQ entirely optional. I am still crossing fingers and hoping the old hangar view its coming back so the damm fck picture of the door gtfo. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --

Wow, all the people who criticize the CSM so much is starting to remind me of the new political ads that came out this month (a year and a half ahead of the 2012 US presidential election). Candidate A is evil because he/she raises taxes, Candidate B is out of touch because he/she is conservative, Candidate C is ignored because he is either a Mormon or not conservative enough, and Candidate D is completely forgotten because he/she is an independent.
Anything can be construed by the masses as nothing more than a PR stunt no matter upfront CCP decides to be with the CSM. That being said, at least be thankful that we players even have a representative voice that is directly elected by capsuleers.

Still watching. MTs aside, the other big issue was a lack of resources devoted to Eve itself. It's a golden goose for dust and WoD. If anyone from CSM is reading these threads some answers on this point would be great.
