Oooh, you make it sound like I've just discovered this thing called an internet.
I've been on the internet, in its various forms before most of you have learned to use a keyboard. You don't know me and you don't know what trends I have seen on the internet over the decades.
Nonetheless, telling someone to die in a fire is still beyond the Pale and unexcusable.

You're right. I don't know you, hence the assumption that you're oblivious. Turns out, you're just an idiot.
Thanks for clearing that up. |

Edited by: Myfanwy Heimdal on 01/07/2011 17:09:25 So, name calling makes you right, does it?
You wanted to know why someone was banned; I told you. It is offensive and goes against common decency. If you can't see that and wish to hide behind the "It's the internet" argument, which is weak, then that's up to you.
The fact remains that any form of communication, be it verbal or written, which talls someone to die in a fire isn't appropriate at all. And no amount of name calling changes that.

well "die in a fire" is such a cliche, over the top thing that I really don't think any american would take it in a threatening way.. but I guess there are some that do.
If you weren't accustomed to the statement though I could see how it would sound excessively morbid.
To me its more like a snide "whatever" said at its worst... "die in a fire" with just a wry smile would be sort of like "i hate you" .. which also is a kinda half comic statement these days because its so childish I don't think anyone could possibly take it seriously
If someone told me "i hate you" I'd take it as half a joke given its hyperbole. The most cuttign words would be "i have no respect for you"

FU CSM&CCP.
How long are you planning to make us wait?
Can't belive the amount of BS you send in our face.
This meeting is a farce, so is CSM&CCP.

There's about five hours left of 'today' in Iceland. It makes you wonder how long it takes to write a simple release. One word would do for the non-vanity NeX sales.
The rest would keep until morning.

Originally by: Hans Jagerblitzen So Mittani having a few drinks = entire CSM is a sham? Do the actions of the other members not matter at all?
If the meetings are as pointless and useless as all the forum trolls make it out to be, anyone who give's half a rat's ass about the game would want to drink heavily as well.
The community members here with no patience, who demand live streams, instant full transcripts, within minutes of meetings being over, and who openly ridicule the whole thing as a dog and pony show, dont deserve answers in the first place.
These threads are a just a ****ing match to see who can say "i told you so" with smug self-satisfaction when this whole thing is over.
Whining that you are not being spoonfed everything in real time as events unfold doesnt help a goddamn thing. People actually interested in constructive dialogue, the ones who hold out hope that things could be improved through these talks, are going to be fine waiting another 24 hours or so for all the statements to be edited and released.
And if people here were respectful and had a degree of patience, they could release more information faster in the first place. But now, they have to be extremely tactful in what is said or not said, because they have a thousand *******s waiting to burn them at the stake regardless of what they say . It is the community's collective immature behavior that forces the whole process to slow down and have everything released at once, so that there isnt a thousand small ****storms and 6 more useless threads created everytime someone tweets.
Seriously, people. If you don't have an open mind about how this all will end, you need to stop posting because your comments are irrelevant and a waste of our time.
Had to smile at the real troll who states if people were respectful. then promptly swears at others all through his post. Way to go

They're just using this meeting as an excuse to get a free vacation to Iceland and get wasted every night. Also I like how Helicity is permabanned for saying "die in a fire" but this piece of sh*t is allowed to tell people to go kill themselves.
Well, good luck EVE players. Your representatives are all hungover as sh*t so don't expect anything to get done at these meetings.
first thing,, vacation to Iceland
lol have you ever been to iceland OP ???
second,, if their work is prepared well which i'm sure it was, they can get ****ed stupid for all i care, infact it's none of my (our) business.
third,, who exactly is going to ban them from what ?
chill out OP, humans do human things, or shall we have them hung drawn and quartered for being human.

This is hilarious. People are getting angry because some volunteers got drunk at night?
Are you expecting them to work every hour they're there? The CSM aren't your *****es. They're not slaves. They're volunteers who do what they do because they enjoy this game and want to make it better. Be glad that they could drop everything at a moment's notice to try to put out the fires of CCP's incompetence.
And at the end of the day, if you really don't like the way they're acting, don't vote for them next time.

Whether you vote for them or not, doesn't really matter, there are enough drones in their alliances they get elected. One of the reasons the CSM is a joke. If you have enough people in your alliance, you can manipulate your way on to the council.

Woah, woah, woah. You're saying that if you have enough popular support you can succeed in a democracy? Say it isn't so.
I mean, that's shocking. Groups of people shouldn't be able to vote together. Its not fair. They might vote against me!

The CSM's are there to look after our interests. This has been pointed out by many on the forums time and time again. They do a hard job for us in difficult circumstances. Lets give them all time to get the statement out. They don't have an easy job. I know the communication could be better, but lets give them their place and time to fix things guys. Hey people .. chill out
Just be happy that they can have some fun there beyond the normal meeting schedules.
Its that simple. Even if you pay for it. So what be grateful that someone have good time for it. Its not like you gonna get homeless because of it. Even if well tomorrow is another day today is another war.
Or the all way around,
The choice is yours. Hate and be angry. Or wish best luck and be happy.
Choice is always yours.
