Will get bashed for this but what the hey. I keep reading this to some extend from disgruntled would-be-ex-EVE players, I do hope you all realize that the impression (you get) of a 1 to 1 customer support to a 500-ish (online)player base will be beyond different if you have a +30.000 online player base.
Right?
Going to edit this with that I have, thus far had no complaints from GM's here. They where fast, polite, sometimes not that smart so you needed to reword what you had trouble with but no bad feelings here. And I'll always remember G-Silver and Coffeecup. Without those 2 I never would had sticked with EVE.
My hat off to you 2. Hope you still play.

I actually like it quite a bit. That's just me though.
I find some things eerily similar to EVE but likely due to the mechanics of a sandbox game.
I subbed the other day, figure what the hell, I'll give it a few months to see how the dev/gm interaction is to their playerbase. <-HINT
Anywhoo... back AFK while awaiting the great fiasco debut.
Hope my fears reference EVE are unfounded.
Either way I'll be spending less time and money on EVE as the last two weeks have given me the opportunity to explore other MMOs.
It's funny actually... I've never played another MMO than EVE for the last 5 years. Now I have 3 installed other than EVE.

wtf! In every thread about monocles I see this CCP alt posting how cool it is to have one, but seriously, your behaviour is everything except cool. With your crapy posts you wont get anyone to buy a monocle and this post just proves how unprofessional CCP is. Now i am even more interested in playing Perpetuum...

Been subbed for about a week. Impressions so far;
Cons - Graphics not as slick and fluid as EvE - World not as big (which makes sense, since it is a planet) - Market not fully developed - UI can be clunking in high lag areas
Pros - Feels more "wide-open" because you physically move around; opportunities for camping/pirating would have to depend on terrain rather than gates ? - As the market is not developed, I think there is great opportunity for industrial types - GM/dev responsiveness is really amazing - I like the prototyping/reverse engineering element (it is way different than eve
Haven't had problems with crashing that others report. All this is grain of salt, since I have only been playing a short amount of time, but it is sort of nice to be a confused noob again and still learning the ropes.
tl;dr - It is fun. It many of the elements that drew me to EvE initially. I like being in on the ground floor and feel good in supporting them...which is NOT something I can currently say about CCP

Come on, be honest.
Many of the features are blatant rips. the character creation process. Some of the character skills have pretty much the same name and descriptions as in Eve. The overview, etc. Not saying this is a bad thing, really. However if you're looking for innovation or new gameplay you're not gonna be happy with Perpetuum. If you've played early 2003 - 2005 Eve, you've basically played Perpetuum, too.

I'd see no point in playing this. Been there done that, basically. But maybe you like so check it out the client is pretty small. Took me 20 minutes to make an account and start playing.
This really, the way it copies EVE is cute but also one of its drawbacks. The hilariously fast moving legs are annoying and stupid. It's like EVE in 2003, minus the cool "ooooh spaceships" and with the "I reluctantly accept this garbage UI from EVE, but not doing it a second time".
Been trying out several MMO's, heck even tried AOC again, not sure what to go for but I doubt it's going to be EVE.

Originally by: Patient 2428190 Just wait until they get megalomaniac ideas of developing multiple other games which include burning insane amounts of money have trouble paying the bills and then they put in MTs and go F2P

Fixed it for you.
Its completely stupid to make multiple games. Look at Valve, they sure are struggling... Oh
CCP is no Valve indeed. Compared to Valve CCP is just a silly (and broke) indie developer with pipe dreams of world domination. |

Wouldn't mind giving it a try, WASD movement almost implies twitch-kills, which on an MMO can be a leveller.
Only trouble is I haven't paid cash for eve subs in a long time, and don't have the RL cash for another game.
Basically what it comes down to is, does Perp offer the same ingame equivelant of plex? View The Eve Industrial Organiser Site

Combat works exactly the way it does in Eve, except for the fact that you move the robot with WASD or by doubleclicking where you want it to go.
No "PLEX" afaik.

No but the monthly subscription is significantly cheaper
