I am very happy about the resolution of the Incarna/Nex/ect scandal, and I hope that Eve continues to move forward. I am not excited about Incarna in its current form, but recognize that in the future it will be a large, and very positive, part of the game, especially when actual content (missions ect) based in stations comes to be. I look forward to the Dust-link and getting many of my FPS friends who call Eve "spreadsheets in space," into the Eve Universe.
However, while the major issue of Gold ammo was resolved, I didn't see anything in the statements or video which discusses the problem of lack of ships in space content (SinSC). I was, from what I read, not the only person to vehemently discuss this issue in the threadnought.
The last actual expansion, in my opinion, was Apocrypha, which was released two years ago. I would like (and urge those who feel similarly to comment in this thread) CCP to discuss the near future of SinSC content.
In the ask any question thread, many times faction warfare/wormholes/PoS revamp and other concepts specifically, and iteration on existing content more broadly, were asked. I found the answers terse. Example: many questions were asked about wormhole-space iteration. Answer: more tech 3's no earlier than 2014. Seriously, do you think that answers the question regarding iteration on a concept?
I understand what CCP is doing with resources for Incarna/Dust/WoD, and I appreciate Team BFF's continued work on lag and fixing the issues that have been on the table for years. I think the new turrets are great. However, I would like to urge CCP to answer the following question:
1. When does CCP plan, in broad terms, to release an expansion which significantly expands the SinSC portion of the Eve Universe, via iteration on existing concepts.
My biases are for a modular PoS revamp, ala flogging the dead horse, and adding significant additional depth to existing Wormhole-Space (new capabilities for corporations living in that space, new ships, new systems, new enemies, ect - you know the drill.)
Thank you for your time, and please post here if you want CCP to answer this question.

CCP has already released that POS updates shouldn't be expected until sometime in 2014, (sad but true), though they have already done some minor patches if I recall. Ships are in the process of being rebalanced, though I believe CCP has gone internal on it, as CCP Tallest was flogged all the way to the gate when he attempted to get feedback. It might even be cancelled after that, or at least put on hold. That would be a shame really, as it's generally considered much needed.
Wormhole space could use some additions, rather than changes, but I suspect it'll be awhile before we see those, if ever. Most likely they will come eventually, as Wormhole space is actually a relatively good way to expand the EVE universe, provided mechancis are available which makes them more accessable through player development/Interaction. i.e.: Player made gates. It's an idea anyway.

Yes, I'm happy too about their answer. Hope they will keep their promise of no PaytoWin items.
@CCP: I will most certainly buy a 10 runs skin for a certain type of ship (let's say a hurricane for ex.) for 15 EUR... that's an idea if you need money and you want to get mine. For now, I will reactivate my accounts.
@CCP:Secondly, I'm still upset that, you will release DUST but you want to keep most of the EVE players out of it. I will never buy a console... at least not sony's one... Please make DUST available to the PC also. This is another way to make money.
@CCP:I think the players of eve want more of that "COSMOS 2.0" "dream" you were talking about a few years ago... Since I can't play DUST (sony s..ks, not secure, expensive, pure crap) I would like improvements and add-ons for the game we play/pay.
Regards GREED IS GOOD, BUT CHANGE IS BETTER! You can die slowly CCP, someone else will seize the opportunity, learn from you're mistakes, steal the good ideas and make a better game. |

Bump for good measure - we want iteration on existing content, not just the occasional ship skin update!

Whats sad is the POS revamp should have started 4 years ago and now its "planned" for 2014. Guess it goes back to that quote about new content being more important then polished features. The motto CCP seems to live by.

This is basically what you said?

Bump. Considering the thousands of players expressing this concern, I am surprised at the level of replies.

You are naive. Why should CCP release "free" content while they can release NeX content which cost extra and is much easier to create? (monocle VS ship)

Exactly! CCP now has to show they are still capable of expanding core gameplay to keep existing subscribers interested. Maybe Incarna can grow into something interesting if they can come up with fun activities to perform at stations, which tie with the rest of the game in a meaningful fashion. But this route is risky, since not everyone will be happy anyway.
On the other hand, there are several issues with in-space content which need fixing, such as:
-bias on blob & pos warfare -HP boost made warfare static with heavily tanking slow ships taking the helm -same with the nanonerf -frigates are lackluster
Where did small battles, hit & run skirmishes, maneuvering and player skill go? CCP needs to put fun back into PvP! --

Looking at this recent interview with CCP Soundwave, there's at least something on the radar. Good to see CCP being back on track and I hope Soundwave gets all the needed resources and keeps a righteous vision for the future of Eve
