Hello all,
I've just reactivated a character after a long time away (my other accounts have been active on and off, but this is the first time I've reactivated this character for 4-5 years). He has a lot of skill points invested in mining and industry as you can see on the character sheet here.
So he can fly mining barges (best as was available at the time), with a lot of the rest of his training in refining and production.
So since I'm a bit lost having just returned to him, any recommendations on where to put 1.8mill skill points I now have spare? Also, his attributes are a bit of a mishmash (although possibly not bad for an industry focussed character? I'm out of touch...) - is it worth considering a re-map?

I would certainly remap, probably all INT and the rest in MEM to polish off your support skills and maybe train some science skills.
As far as assigned skillpoints, leadership to get mining forema V for the orca would be a decent choice, maybe a few more trading skills or even drone skills.
...Then when you stopped to think about it. All you really said was Lalala. |

Edited by: Velti Heitor on 03/07/2011 14:38:20 Thanks for the good tip - I went out and bought the skill for exhumers and spent points up to rank 3, but hadn't even considered the Orca... didn't realise how few skills I'd need to being able to fly the thing.
Edit: Incorrect character, reply should be from Tregaa again :)

My suggestion for 'next time'... Is to save the 'free points for a skill with rank 8 or higher... since they take a lot longer to train - but give the same SP.

Not to doubt you, and thanks for the reply, but is the difference not the number of skill points that are needed to rank them up rather than how long? I'm actually thinking my "best" bet efficiency wise would be to have spent my points in areas with a low SP/hour (Charisma based skills in my case). Not useful in a huge way for this character, though.
But most of my points now re-spent on things that had a coolness factor like flying funky new ships that weren't available last time I was mining, so it's all good here :)

Yeah this reply doesnt make any sense. It is most efficient to put it in those higher ranked skills that you are not very well specced for, for example charisma skills for most ppl. the actual length of the skill is completely irrelevant as far as efficiency goes.

Efficiency is an option, but not a requirement. Efficiency can also have different applications.
One of the reasons that any character is remapped in a certain area is because you have decided, that's the path you want within the next year.
Getting a skill that you can use immediatly, that will affect what you do NOW is just as important as some skill that you hadn't even wanted in your next years skill plan.
I agree that knocking out a long skill or 2 is the best way to go, no matter what the attributes are.
