You're here because you want to venture into 0.0 space (nullsec) to join in on the excitement you hear about, but you don't have any training. You know you'll die.
Most of the other nullsec corps and alliances will offer you training only if you join their 'cause', whether that's PVP or industry. That can be daunting for someone that doesn't want to be part of some 'cause'...
We understand your dilemma.
What's the answer?
OUCH is the answer. It's the Open University of Celestial Hardship. We have very experienced trainers to teach you how to survive and fight in nullsec. We have no 'cause' other than to teach you nullsec xurvival and PVP.
What does that mean for me?
You're going to lose ships (it's why we ensure you're only using cheap, expendable Tech 1 frigates while you're doing your training). You're probably going to get podded quite a few times along the way too. We don't guarantee your survival in nullsec, but we do guarantee to teach you how to minimize your losses along the way.
It's brutal out there, but when you're a member of OUCH, you're with a group of friendly, relaxed people who understand your fears. We're there to help you learn how to survive in nullspace. We will teach you everything you need to know.
What kind of training will I get?
Student training focuses on a number of essential skills in a detailed yet practical maner:
* Overview settings * EVE client settings and interface * Bookmarking * Using the Directional Scanner * Tackling * Weaponry * Fleet Ops * Hunter/Prey
Once you graduate from OUCH you can choose to become a permanent member if you want, or you're free to move on. If you stay, you will have the opportunity to move into more advanced hulls and roles and receive advanced PVP training, including, for example, Interceptors, EWAR, Recons, Covert Ops, and support ships.
Student Training Schedule
Our training sessions are usually held every week on Saturdays and Sundays at 19:00 EVE time in hisec or on SISI. We promote these sessions with our forum, eve mails and in-game calendar.
Are there any minimum requirements to join OUCH?
No pre-requisites are required to join OUCH. No minimum number of skill points, API checks, interviews, etc. We truly are an "open" training corporation. Our students have ranged from day-one-old trial accounts to players who were with Eve since Beta. We accept anyone with a pulse.
However, to make your OUCH experience meaningful, you must be willing to have or accept the following:
- A desire to learn how to survive in nullsec and develop your PvP skills.
- You must do your homework and abide by our corporate policies and restrictions. After joining OUCH you'll find that in addition to attending Module training sessions, there's quite a bit of forum information you'll have to read and digest. You will not, and should not, be fighting from day one. Like when you learn boxing, it's the gym first and arena second.
- Operations Department members (OUCH graduates who've been accepted to the Department) must be involved in at least four fights every month.
- When a student graduates and decides to stay in OUCH they must join one of our Departments:
* Training * Operations (PVP) * Logistics (PVE)
- Be active on Teamspeak (for voice communications) when you're logged on.
- Sign up to our forum and keep up to date with information and discussions.
OUCH is a nullsec survival and PvP training corp. You're expected to be practicing what you've learned, and if you're not practicing, then we hope that's because you've learned it so well you're teaching someone instead. Being on Teamspeak will allow you to chat with other corp and alliance members, and participate in more training and PvP operations.

What about wars and spies?
Bring it, I say.
War is something that allows our students to practice PVP in highsec, rather than just lowsec or nullsec. Since we're a nullsec survival training corp, and we teach students how to survive and fight in nullsec, there is absolutely no difference to us if we're at war in highsec.
We teach students and member corporations how to operate during war, how to take advantage of alts and alt corps, how to avoid station camps and gate camps from war targets, and how to form fleets to take out opponents.
You only need to see our killboard to understand that we don't fear PVP. We're out there killing anything from T1 frigates through to supercarriers. Many T2 and T3 ships fall prey to our operations.
We also do a lot of our training on SISI, so any wars will not affect training.
If someone wants to join OUCH as a spy in order to gather intel on our operations, we don't mind. Our training and PVP operations have no secrets. And if there ARE any secrets, then we practice a high level of 'operational security'. This is where information is provided to people on a 'need to know' basis.
It's the only way to ensure security in an open corp.
Ok, I'm interested - what do I do now?
If you like what you've read so far, and you think you'd like to join OUCH, then join the in-game channel OUCH-UNI. Once you're in there, you can click on the link to OUCH's info, and then click on APPLY TO JOIN.
You see, we accept anyone and everyone. Who you are and where you've been doesn't matter to us. What matters is that you want to learn how to survive in nullsec and develop your PvP skills, and that's what we teach you.
Of course, you can ask any questions in here as well, and we'd be happy to answer them for you.

If you're a miner or mission runner and you want to learn how to survive while travelling through nullsec, OUCH is the place to join up and learn survival tactics.

Hey, this is an example of the kills we're getting out there in nullsec. Someone using a cloaked Buzzard to transport almost 2 billion ISK worth of stuff. We got 'em though....

If you're a corp or alliance that wants new members to learn nullsec survival and PVP, have them join OUCH. After they've graduated and returned to you, you will be amazed at how much they've learnt!

I may be biased because I now am 1 of the new trainers but OUCH does exactly what it claims. Join us and learn null sec survival and have fun doing it.

Just gave a lecture to ten players yesterday, my biggest single class ever. They were attentive, interactive, asked good questions, and thanked me for sharing my time with them.
Makes me glad I signed up to be an instructor.
Thanks guys! |

OUCH takes all players. There is no SP requirement. There is no interview. All you have to have is a willingness to learn. The whole process up to graduation just has you flying a t-1 frigate.
Like already stated we have players from both US and EU.

T-1 Frigates? Everyone knows you need a blob of tech 3ship or at least a blob of Battleships and Battlecruisers to get any kills in null space. Right?

To anyone reading this out of interest of learning PvP, I joined OUCH last week. Since then I've attended two classes. Everything is very organised, very planned and just awesome. I've learnt so much in a couple of hours, learnt how deep the game is, and I thought it was deep beforehand!
I can't reccomend this training more, it felt like I should have learnt this stuff after the in-game tutorial just to get on my feet and be competant. Awesome bunch of guys who will turn you into a competent PvPer.

Nice thing to hear from 1 of the 9 students I had on July 9th. Glad to hear Galene Hawke likes the training so far.

I am one of OUCH's latest graduates. I highly encourage anyone interested in the PvP side of the game to take some time to go through OUCH's training. Even if you don't plan on living in nullsec the skills learned are helpful in lowsec and hisec.
The student training is what I would call basic training. Once done you aren't going to be a badass but you will be competent and have a solid foundation in which to build up those badass skills.
Or if you are like me you'll have the skills needed to run your itty through a few systems of lowsec in order to cut off 15 jumps in your route.
