I still keep a nos in mine. Don't get to use it every time (can't always get close enough to kiters), but its fantastic when you can. Not to mention the fact that you can't always pick your opponent, so sometimes you will HAVE in your face brawlers up close on you, or you managed to close on that rifter who is now neuting you. It becomes a lifesaver. ;)

Yeah I agree, a Nos is a great choice for that final high slot, You can start out the fight "semi-kiting" with Scorch, then when they catch you, you can turn on everything, switch to multifrequency and melt them :D My blog on EVE-áhttp://seraph-minayin.blogspot.com/ |

people seem to think that frigate engagements happen at the same range throughout the whole fight. Fitting a 20km wepaon and fighting at 7km is not uncommon. Damage projection is massive since the first few volleys when you approach another frigate can be the deciding factor.
Most frigs will then overshoot, especially if they use an MWD and you turn it off with a scram... a few seconds fo approach strips off hundreds of EHP.
They when they finalyl do get in range you can nos them and run a repper.
That's why damage projections is so important and also why a nos is excellent. |

It's funny how things change. Who would have said that a year ago.
Actually, I would have, but I've always been a Retri fanboy. I got laughed at a lot though. |

Trying to get kills with one mid taught me some good skills

Single rep enyo has got to be my favorite.
430 heated dps allows for some rather rapid take downs of larger targets. Just pick your fights and make sure you can get full tackle else it's going to get messy. |

Here's my fit which I've had some fun with:
Lows 200mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plate I Small Armor Repairer II (I usually use a Centii C-Type though) Damage Control II Gyrostabilizer II
Mids Faint Epsilon Warp Scrambler I Fleeting Propulsion Inhibitor I 1MN Afterburner II [Personal Choice for final slot] -> I like to use a tracking disruptor or another web for range control
Highs 3 x 200mm Autocannon II Small Diminishing Power System Drain I
Rigs Small Anti-Kinetic Pump I Small Anti-Explosive Pump I
Best way to fight other frigs is at the edge of scram range with barrage in my experience. Lets you keep the damage off you as much as possible.

Nothing.

Ed: I'm thinking about beams. With Pulse, you may fit nothing (you have an optimal bonus) or a nos (you don't). Normally on 5:00 -> 9-10:00 Eve (Aus TZ?) Blog: http://liangnuren.wordpress.com PVP Videos: http://www.youtube.com/user/LiangNuren/videos Twitter: http://twitter.com/LiangNuren

Ed: Because it's awesome and it's got a tank you wouldn't believe.
I agree with the overall awesomeness of the Blarpy, but I have to throw in my vote for the Ishkur. Drones dont need lock, and it can take on a wider variety of targets in my opinion.
Both great ships, but I love drones. ^_^ |

http://kb.eveaquila.com/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=25582
Rocket fit ^ requires hybrid rigging 5, AWU 5, genolution implants and really shines with 5% small turret damage and 3% all turret damages, gets over 400dps with void or 299 (i think, been a while) with null which can hit to 10.5km without any falloff loss.
http://kb.eveaquila.com/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=24809
Normal average skill fit ^ WITH OFFLINE SALVAGER!!!! monies, nom nom nom. Everytime you dont like my comments/posts the terrorists win and your a disgrace to your country. |

Harpy - Caldari ships are a tad slow which is one god send that they usualy have enough mids to fit adiquate tackle and a decent tank. Im a big fan of the harpy, from the scram/web/AB fit, to my MWD fit, To my dule prop fit. It has great dps, and enough lows for what ever you need. Probialy one of the best all around AFs
Hawk - Still has the problem of beign a tad slow for a shield tanker but with 5 mids it can fit a killer active tank, and its rockets hit fairly cosistantly if you have a web on the target. atm i have a dule M-ASB hawk which i have used to good effect, only thing i dont really like about it is that it has quite a few mods to manage. Decent but the Navy hookbil takes allot fo its thunder.
Vengance - Amazing tank, but its slow as syrup, I usualy use it as a heavy tackler for a BC gang with a MWD scram and web, can stand up to allot of punishment, but got to get tackle on quick or most other ships can kite you indefinatly.
Retribution - decent dps, but i feel the wolf dose everything it dose better, wolf has more speed and selectable damage types. Im sure others disagree but im just not a fan, better han it used to be tho lol.
Wolf - arty kite fit wolfs are nasty creatures that can swoop in kill a ship and slip out. tho was never my style to have the tank made of the wished os children, and the armor wold while great dps, is a real diadvantage not havign a web, I usualy see the Get TDed, scramed and webed then nibbled to death by harpys, hookbils and the like. More of a gang ship in my opinion if not arty fit.
Jag - Kinda like the Harp, it has allot of ways to fit it, even more than any other AF i think, with its large aray of mids and lows it can armor or shield tank decently, has great speed, I have used the passive shield tanked jag and laughed at BCs trying to shake me off. It dosent have as much dps as other AFs but it makes up for it in versitility.
Enyo - Dps monster I have simply brawled my way trough other ships tanks before they could chew trough my meager tank.
Ishker - I would like it more if it was a tad faster, it really feels like a kiting boat to me, but not fast enough to pull it off well, but having 5 light drones is a great took to have, with a decent slot lay out for tackle and tank.
Over all AFs are a great class to train for, i actualy tell all new players wanting to get into pvp to train straight for a T2 fit AF, dosent mean they have to fly one right away but the prerecs are good ones, and lets them fly the newly balanced T1 versions pretty darn well. |

Heh, I have exactly the opposite opinion. IMO after you fly the Retri like a Slicer the wolf just comes off feeling bad.
