I applaud this highly inventive scam. In the extremely unlikely event that this is genuine and not a highly inventive scam, I would be happy to help out. Some kind of Skype confirmation perhaps?
I believe Hallan from Voices from the Void is from Alabama. I'm sure (or at least I think I'm sure) that he'd give this tragedy the attention it deserves (in the extremely unlikely event that this is genuine.)

As you can tell, people think you are a scam. Now, I don't know if you are, pretty much everybody who asks for money has some sad tale to tell, or at least they tell you one. And while, if a random person asked me for a dollar to afford that ride home, I'd be willing to give it to them in the hope they won't buy booze with it, I really wouldn't write out a cheque for a few thousand grand so they can start a company, just based on their story.
The only solution that I can see, if you are indeed legit, is you find somebody respected by the community and get them to vouch for you, or have them verify your story somehow and tell people. Similar to what they do for bonds of new traders.
Once that happens, I'll be happy to forward as much as I can afford, but until then...

This is not a public matter, this is for Becca and her so-called friends. If you want to help her build up, you go ahead and buy some PLEX for her to get her started. None of this public donation nonsense. The risk of scam is simply too high.
Sounds too melodramatic for my tastes anyway.

Put in a sad story of a disabled person due to an accident, douse it with another recent tragic accident, on top of that add in a dead eve corp due to tyrant CEO killing it by accident, and repent this poor disabled fantasy individual.. burn the dream.

Sorry, if you were telling the truth it wouldn't matter. EVE is so overrun by scams and ripoffs that you couldn't possibly get anyone to trust you anymore. One reason I don't play much; can't be bothered to convince someone I'm not a Dev Alt or a scammer, or a griefer. What's the point in recruiting anyway? People are such clucks they sign up with the scammers and treat the honest people like griefers.
Can't tell you how many times I've been asked by a potential recruit if I was a Dev or if I was trying to scam him/her or get them in corp so I could steal their stuff. Enough of that, and you don't bother anymore.
Nobody trusts anyone in EVE; not even me. I used to, but I'm beyond that now.

Duh, the "game" in EVE ios fighting against the odds and overcome. Simply being giving the reward with no effort is no game at all. This is an obvious scam where the effort lies in trying to convince people that the sob-story is true.
You do not need ISK to run a corporation, you need the ability to gather people and make them stick with you. If "Becca" has this ability before she will have it now, and if real life concerns are an issue for here she should get those sorted. Nothing beats the sense of real world accomplishment after all.

While the story is very nice, heartbreaking... my EvE glasses are on and I suspect a few things.
For one, the woman in cause should not have lost all her assests unless she kept all in corp hangar, which is wrong in the first place.
Second, we are to assume she could not even log into EvE mail to send a corp mail all this time? A bit strange considering that you can use even a phone for that.
Third, to restart a corp you do not need billions, I am a CEO and we started with a modest sum and we are doing just fine. Asking for ISK to make a corp sounds to me like a scam.
I do not know how that corp was managed, did it give hundreds of mils to its members each month? The idea is that this does not feel right.
What will you use the 5 bil for? Buying what?

What planet are you from? It costs a couple mil to start a corp and then maybe a bil to get a working POS operation started up. Though I read it and for the first few paragraphs found it believable, I quickly realized I was reading a scam. :p

Just about every disabled person known to me (and I know several) has a cast iron determination and a will "to do" that should make most of those with complete faculties ashamed by their comparative lack of the same.
I'm quite sure they would tell your friend the best thing they can give to her is to tell her to stop feeling sorry for herself, get off her butt and get back at it. If she did it once she can do it again and better. If she can deal with her RL situation, disability and natural disasters, she can rise above this setback in Eden.
