Edited by: Ayieka on 07/07/2011 16:22:13 that was a big mix of corny and pretty cool. the live action was a bit silly.
edit: also that wasn't exactly the incarna trailer.

That definitely targeted at attracting new blood. Well done, IMO.
P.S. How the [bleep] did the toon cross his arms? Is that an emote we can buy with Aurum?

I think this trailer clearly shows what's capable right now in EVE with our Captains Quarters.

I personally liked the new trailer. It definitely was not created for vet players, but for potentially new players...this was a well done ad. Many vet's may not like Incarna, but a great number of them do, and I can tell you that many people want to play EVE but don't.
They don't because they cannot get past they ideal of the fact that they have to play a spaceship. That might be OK for some people, but for a vast majority of gamers that doesn't cut it - especially when your target audience is MMORPG players. They want avatars...not just spaceships.
I personally commend CPP for recognizing this and finally doing something about it. Incarna is going to open this game up and allow it to blossom into a complete MMORPG and take it out of being just a poorly implemented space-flight sim/RTS and spread-sheet game. Avatars is what this game has needed for a very long time...now we're finally getting them, and I for one am very much excited about it!

Great post, I agree. Love the new trailer...wasn't so sure I wold for the first 30 seconds, but it grew on my quickly. They picked the right actor (though after the first few lines, I thought the opposite). Nice CCP! I've always loved the trailers and this one is no exception. ~Gnosis~ |

It's also a trick to get more sub time out of new players. They'll start off Gallente and train up hybrids before realizing that hybrids are bad and then switch to training other faction guns and ships.

New rule for CCP:
When you make trailers for expanions show the expansion content only.
Almost all of that trailer hasn't changed for over 2 years, the only bit that has was awful.
Adding a door does not add immersion, we had that already.

All the wrong and terrible things in that video notwithstanding, in the 8 years of playing somehow I never needed CQ/Incarna to feel that "I was there". ... Return the Old Hangar Back... for Immersion.
