The ability to disrupt communications of an enemy, or having your communications disrupted if you take enough damage.
A disruption in communications would result in, CONVO no longer working. LOCAL no longer working, and EVEMAIL no longer working, MARKET information no longer working, and CONTRACT comms no longer working. Maybe even impacting OVERVIEW, but maybe that would be more of a targeting or navigation computer disruption. Computer warfare.
There can be modules designed to disrupt communications (very useful), or it can be caused by the amount of damage inflicted, or area effects.

Neat idea for a mod. Maybe a % chance for success each cycle similar to ECM?

90% of fleets use an out of game voice server, unless CCP can jam there Servers fleet/gang comms should not be effected.

This is true, and I do also. But, we can't do anythign about that without raising some legal issues. But in game information is still very important, and it can be very substantial.

Hadn't thought of that, but having other things disrupted can still be useful. Most large alliances don't do all of their intel through ts/vent/mumble because there are hundreds and hundreds of people.
Not affecting the voice comms does probably mean it would never get used though. Too bad.

Edited by: Levi Crawford on 07/07/2011 23:08:27 Despite most communication taking place outside the eve client. There are some in game effects this could stop. all ganglink effects or fleet broadcasts, for example.
